5.2 Encryption
NOTE: The buttons are deactivated in standby mode.
A. Using[ SETUP ]
1. Holddown [ SETUP ] for 10–20 seconds. Youcan release thebutton when
all theLEDs go out and theunit restarts. Theoriginal encryption setting of
thenetwork adaptor is cleared.
2. Repeatstep 1 to clear theoriginal encryption setting of theother device.
3. Press[ SETUP ] at thesame time on both devices for 1 to 3 seconds.
The“POWER” LED starts to blink on both devices. Thetwo devices start to
communicate and create their own encryption for their own network.
Thenew encryption settings are complete after about 10 seconds.
The LEDs go out on both devices and they restart.
NOTE: If thesettings are not complete after about 2 minutes, thenetwork
adaptors return to standby mode.
4. Ifthedevices fail to establish contact with each other, repeat steps 1 to 3.
B. Addinganew device to an existing private network
1. Plugthenew device into awall socket. Holddown [ SETUP ] for 10 to 20 seconds
to clear theexisting encryption of thenetwork adaptor.
2. Press[ SETUP ] for 1 to 3 seconds. The“POWER” LED starts to blink.
3. Chooseany device from theexisting network. Press[ SETUP ] on that device for
1 to 3 seconds. The“POWER” LED starts to blink.
4. Thenew device starts to communicate with thechosen device on thenetwork and
attempts to connect to thenetwork. Thenew encryption settings are complete
after about 10 seconds. TheLEDs on thenew device go out and it restarts when
thesettings are complete. The“POWER” LED on thealready connected device
shows asteady light.
5. Ifthenew device fails to establish contact with thenetwork, repeat steps 1 to 4.
C. Leavingaprivate network
Holddown [ SETUP ] for 10 to 20 seconds to clear theexisting encryption of
thedevice. Thenetwork adaptor has now left theprivate network.
5.3 Resetting
To reset thedevice to factory default settings:
Hold down [RESET] on thenetwork adaptor for 1 to 3 seconds. TheLEDs on
thenetwork adaptor go out and it restarts with thefactory default settings.
