Protective Eyewear
CAUTION
Safety glasses should be worn when handling chemicals and cleaving the optical ber.
Chemical Precautions
CAUTION
Storage, use and disposal of isopropyl alcohol and methanolwater solution should be per your company health, safety and environmental
instructions. Refer to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for health hazards, safe handling, proper use and control measures.
Bare Fiber Handling
CAUTION
Cleaved glass bers are sharp and can pierce the skin. Use tweezers when handling shards and dispose of them properly per your company health
and safety instructions.
Fiber Cable Handling
NOTICE
Optical ber can be damaged by excessive tensile, compressive and bending forces. Consult the manufacturer’s specications for proper handling
instructions.
Laser Safety
CAUTION
Take the proper precautions when working with optical ber because invisible laser light may be present. The principal laser hazard when working
with ber optics is injury to the eye. Never look directly into the end of a ber or connector using the naked eye, a view scope or a microscope when
connected to a laser source.

Tool is set for 900 μm ber.
For 250 μm ber rotate ber
holder pad to the 250 mark. Insert Crimplok™+ Connector
Strip ber 40 mm
900 μm coating
edge, 24 mm
cleave length
250 μm coating
edge, 19 mm
cleave length
Optional– place
mark on buer at
edge of cleaver.
Insert ber
Ensure cap is still right justied
during insertion.

with thumb and rotate the
lever up to 90° and back
down to seat connector
and set cap to the right.

Check tension
Press rmly
Check for bow lift before
actuation arm is vertical
Apply and center lapping lm to
orange pad.
Spray distilled water
2X on lapping lm
Push down
until it clicks

Turn until
