a) The appliancehas beencorrectly installedinaccordance withour instructions andis being usedonthe
supply circuit or voltageprintedon the ratingplate.
b) The appliancehas beenusedin accordance with these instructionsand has not been tampered withor
otherwise been subject to misuse, neglect or accident.
c) Theappliancehas notbeen taken apart, modifiedor repaired except by apersonauthorisedbyus.
d) Evidence ofthe dateofpurchasein the form of aninvoiceor receiptwillbe requiredinorder to qualify for
an in-guarantee repair.
e) Repair under guaranteehas noeffect ontheexpiry date.Theguarantee on any exchanged parts or product
ends whentheoriginal guaranteeperiod ends.
EXCLUSIONS
ThisguaranteeDOES NOT coverdamage or defectsarising frompooror incorrectinstallation,improper useorlack of
maintenance,includingbuildupof limescale.Checkingandcleaning of the inlet filters is notcovered by thisguarantee.Itis
the responsibility of the installer tocheckthatthe installation parametersmeet the requirements of the product,and any
relevant regulations.
We makenoguarantees asto repair times.
The guarantee applies toarepair or replacement(at our discretion) of the product subjectto the conditions above,and
DOES NOT cover compensation forthe lossof the product or consequentiallossof anykind including the removal,
refitting and transportation of the product under any withinguarantee repair.
This guarantee applies tothe baseunitand remotecontrol only andnot to other parts of the installation orproduct such as:

Introduction
a) Important information
General
•The mixer shower has been designedfor convenience, economy and safetyof use, provided thatit
is installed and used in accordance with these instructionsand recommendations.
•Installations thatinvolve working“atheight” (such as ina loft) mustcomplywiththe “Workingat
Height Regulations 2005”.
Plumbing (Pumped model only)
•The pumped showerunit is designed to boost the flow of gravityfed stored domestic water and
control the temperature and flow.
DO NOT connectthe base unit directly to the mains cold or mains hot water supplies.
•The watersupply must have a minimum head of0.08m and a maximum head of10m
•Make sure that none ofthe pipework supplyingthe base unit rises above the level ofthe
bottom ofthe cold water cistern.
•Avoid installingwhere the unitmightbe subjecttofreezing.
Plumbing (Non pumped model only)
•The non pumped showerunit is designed to mixcold and hotwater from anunvented supplyand
control the temperature and flow.
•The watersupply must have a minimum pressure of1 bar (100 kPa, 14 psi).
•Avoid installingwhere the unit mightbe subjecttofreezing.
Electrical
•Isolate themains electricalsupply before removingthe cover of the base unit.
(In normalcircumstances, the front cover does notneed to be removed).
•Allwiring and installationmustbe supervisedby a suitably qualified person.
•The base unitMUST be earthed.
•The installation mustbein accordance with the current editionof BS 7671(the “IEE Wiring
Regulations”) and “PartP” of the “BuildingRegulations” inforce atthe time of installation.
•Installations outside England and Wales must also conform to anylocalregulationsin effect.
•This appliance is intended to be permanentlyconnected tothe fixed electrical wiringof the mains
supply via a 5 ampswitched fuse connection unit.(Notsupplied).
ImportantCustomer information
Pumped Modelonly
•The shower base unit incorporates a motorthat is designed forintermittentuse.
The maximum length of time for any shower should notexceed 15 minutes.
A restperiod of 45 minutes is then required to allowthe motorto cool down.
All models
•DO NOT switch the appliance onif you suspect it of being frozen.

b) Product description
•The Shower is a remote controlled thermostatic mixer shower foruse in domestic properties on a
220 – 240V supply. The mixer (base unit)can be installed inmost locations ina house, remote
from the shower cubicle with a single mixedoutletfeed.
•The base unitissupplied with cold waterand hot water. (Gravity fed on Pumped model, Unvented
on Non Pumpedmodel). The mixed outlet is controlled bya remote control used toadjustthe
flow and temperature.
•The remote controlis fitted inthe showercubiclealongwith the shower hose and handsetfittings.
•Additional remote controls are available as anaccessoryif required. (See Page 19).

Installation
a) Introduction
•The remote controlthermostatic mixer shower isdesignedfor use as amixer unitthatissited
remote from the shower cubicle. The shower is controlled usinga remote control handset sited
insidethe cubicle.
•If the installation involvesworkingatheight, ensure thatthe “WorkingatHeightRegulations
2005” are followed.
(This includes ensuring there is“Proper ladderaccess”, that loft areasare “Boarded down on
joists to and from the installation” and thatthere is “Adequatelighting”, etc).
•The recommended installation sequence is
1. Fix the base unitin its designated location
2. Fixthe shower outletandremote control bracket and all accessories into the cubicle
3. Plumb in the coldandhot waterfeedsto the baseunit
4. Plumb in the mixed outlet from the base tothe showeroutlet in the cubicle
5. Connect the base unit mains lead tothe electricalsupply

•The start / stop button on the remote control communicates tothe base unitPCB and switches the
unit on and off using the cold and hot andoutletwater valves.
(Outlet valve is not fitted on the non-pumpedversion)
•The warmer and coolerbuttons alter the temperature byturningthe mixer valve using the stepper
motor.
•The outlet temperature ismeasured usinga sensor and displayed asa digit on the remote control
display.
•The flow buttons change the flow rate by speeding upand slowing down the rotation ofthe pump.
(On the non pumped version the flowis altered byturning a flow valve usinga motor)
•Presetscan be usedto store favourite settings.
•The remote control displayis used to show watertemperature, flow rate and battery charge.

Howthe shower works
The shower isa remote controlled mixer showerincorporating a booster pump. (On the non pumped
model the booster pump is replaced bya motorisedflow regulator valve). It iscontrolledby a remote
controlunitthat is installed in a showercubicle alongwith the shower accessories.
Switch on and running
•The remote control is usedto switch the base uniton and controlthe temperature andflow rate
•The remotecontroland base unit sendtheinstructions to each otherusingradio frequencysignals
with a maximum range of about10 metres.

b) Locating the baseunit
DO NOT installthe base unitinthe bathroomorshower cubicle area.
DO NOT installthe base unitupside down (i.e. secured to a ceiling)
•In general the base unit can be installed above theshowercubicle in the loft oradjacent toit in an
airingcupboard. (Or other suitablelocationwithin 10m of the shower area)
•The unit can be mounted horizontally(“on itsback”), orvertically.
•When mountingvertically, the connection pipes MUST be pointingdown.

•Ensure that thelocation is notsubjecttofreezing or excessive moisture.
c) Fitting and Plumbing
Mark up and fix
•Decide where tomount the base unit ensuring :
-There isadequate clearance for access around thebase unit, includingconnection of the hot
andcold and shower deliverypipes.
-The distance betweenthe base unit and the showercubicle is lessthan 10m.
-There are nometalcoated ceilingpanels or metalpartitions between the base and the shower.
(Metal panels etc. canblock the remote control signals and so stopthe unit working correctly)
•Markthe four locatingpointsfor the base and then secure usingthe screw pack provided.
Important : In allcases, the unitmust be mountedusingthe rubber
feet and spacers supplied. Some surfaces, such as hollow walls, may
require a different screw and plug type (notsupplied)
Mountingfeet, spacer and screws
•Once the base unit is fixed in position the plumbingconnections can
be attached.
Plumbing – General •Connectionsaremade to the unit using
15mm straight or elbow couplers (Push
fitorcompression). The cold and hot
water connectionsshouldinclude service
valvesfor ease of maintenance.

ancillary – See Page 19)

•The cold andhot water supplies must be flushed through prior to makingthe connections to the
base unit, to remove all particlesfrom the pipe work and help with primingduringcommissioning.

Plumbing – Typical layouts
Important installation notes :
•Avoid potential airtraps in the pipe runs
•Forloftinstallationsensure that there isnorisk of freezingof the pipesand the unit, but do not
cover the base unit withloft insulation.
•The hot watersupplytothe base mixer unitmust be setbetween 50°C - 65°C.
Low pressure (Gravity fed) systems (Pumped Model only)

(The coldand hotwater MUST come from agravity fed supply using the same header tank)

Maintenance
a) Cleaningthe remotecontroland descaling the shower handset
While cleaning, isolatethe power supplyto the base unit.
•Clean the shower remotecontrolusinga softclothandavoid usingabrasive orsolventbased
cleaningfluid, especially on anyplated finishes.
Warning : Never immerse the remote controlin any liquid
Regularlyinspectthe hose for wear and damage. Replace ifnecessary, or every
two years, withan approved part.
To maintain performance, the shower handset
mustbe cleaned regularly.
•Clean the shower handset sprayby rubbingthe nozzles (a).
•Alternativelysoak the shower sprayhandset in a proprietary
lime scale remover (b). (Rinse thoroughly after cleaning).
b) Cleaning the base unit inlet filters
If the flow rate is lower than normal, then the inlet filtersmayneed to be cleaned.
(Separate filtered isolation valve available as an ancillary – See Page 19)
While removingand cleaningthe inletfilters, isolate the powersupplyto the base unit.
•Turn off the coldwaterand hotwater supplytothe base unit.
•Remove the cold and hot water connectionsatthe unionwith the base unit andcarefullyremove
the filters (as shown).
•Wash the filters thoroughly under running
water.
•Replace and reassemblythe cold and hot
water connections.
•Turnwaterand electrical supplies back on
again.
Itmaybe necessaryto re-prime the shower base unit afterthe filtershave been cleaned. (Referto
section “Bleed the airout of the base unit” on Page 10).

Remove battery coverand insert 2 x AAA batteries. (Observe polarity).
Ensure the rubber sealiscorrectly locatedbeforereplacing the battery cover.
Additional remote control
•More than one remote controlcan be configured to the same base unit.
•Only one remote control will function atanyonetime.

d) Electrical connections
Connecting the supply cable
The base unitis provided with 2m of mainscable attached. In normalcircumstances, the front
cover doesnot need to be removed.
Warning :•Switch off the electricity supply to the circuit before wiring in.
•If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified personsin order to avoid a hazard.
Connect the cablefrom the base unit to a 5 amp

•Press a program button to switchthe showerto the saved settings.
•This can be done to switchthe showeron, orat anytime duringa showersession.
Note : A buttonmust be programmed before it will function.
d) Overtemperatureprotection
The shower hasan over temperature protection builtin.
•If the outlettemperature is higherthanitshould be, the basemixerunit will automaticallyshut
off the hotwater supplyuntil the temperature returns to normal.
•The remote controlwillflash “E” and the bleeper willsound an alarm.
•The shower canstill be switched off while the over temperature protectionis working.
e) Remote Controlbatteries
•When the shower is switchedon,the displayshows how much charge is
remaining
•Replace the batteries when there is lessthan 10% charge remaining. Ensure
polarityis correct.
•The handsetuses2xAAA type batteries.
•Access to the batterycompartmentisvia a coveron the rear of the remote
control
•Remove the batterycover byunscrewingthe two cover screws.

•Ensure thatthere is no standingwaterin the shower trayorbath when the remote control is in use.
(The remote control is protected againstwater spray but IS NOT protected against immersion).
a) Switching the showeron and off
•The shower isswitched on andoff bypressingthe Start/Stop button
-Pressingthe startbuttonwill switch the shower on. The selected temperature is
shown inthe displaywhen the button is firstpressed.
-The temperature displaywillflash and graduallyclimb up tothe selected
temperature.
(When the temperature isreached, the digit will stopflashing and the handset will bleep
twice, withthe backlightcoming on for2 seconds).
-The displaywill also show the flow rate level.
•The shower canalsobe switched on usingone of the preset programmablebuttons
(2 or 3 buttons dependingon model).

-Press one of the Program buttonsto switch the shower on at a previouslysaved temperature
and flow rate. (To save settings : See sectiononProgram buttons).
Notes: If there are no settings in a Programmable button, then the shower will sound a long bleep
and not switch on using that button.
If aprogram buttonconflictswiththe requirementsof the DIP switches then the button will
be ignored and the handset will sound a long “error” bleep.

b) Adjusting the temperature andflow

e) Commissioning the system
Make sure cold and hot water suppliesare both turned on and primed.
(To prime, it may be necessary to temporarily partially loosen the cold and hot connections, in turn)

Switchon the power supply to the base unit. (In the first10 seconds of powering up, the base unit
carries out aself check routine. During thistimethe internalelectricalcomponents willmomentarily
switch on and off).
Bleed the air out ofthe base unit
•Before the unitcan function correctlythe airmust be bledfrom the base unitand associated pipes
•To bleed the airfrom the Pumped base unit:
-Make sure thecold and hot deliverypipes are primed priorto connection. (See above)
-Make sure thepower tothe base unithasbeen on forLESS than 5 minutes.

-The automatic bleed process takes 2 minutes tocomplete. Duringthis timethe internal pump
willswitchontwice for about 10 seconds and water should come out oftheshower handset.
-If waterdoes not flow from the showeratthe endof the bleed process, thenpress the program
buttons again, asshown, for 3 seconds.
-After 2 minutesthe unitautomatically switches off.
Once started,the bleed process can be stopped atany time by pressing the Start / Stop button.
•To bleed the airfrom the Non Pumped base unit:
-Make sure thecold and hot deliverypipes are primed priorto connection. (See above)
-Make sure thepower tothe base unithasbeen on forLESS than 5 minutes.
-Press the Start/ Stop button. This willswitch theunit on and also bleed anytrapped air
Notes :
a) Pressing the twoProgram buttons is used to bleed the air from a Pumpedunit. On a Non
Pumped unit thesetwo buttons willhave noeffect. (Use the Start/ Stop button instead).
b) The bleed processmust be started inthe first 5 minutes ofswitching on the power tothe base
unit. Switch the power offand on again if ithasbeen on for more than 5 minutes.
Synchronise the remote control to the base unit
The remote controlleavesthe factory“unsynchronised”. It
automaticallysynchronised to its base unit when the buttons are
pressed to bleed out the air (see above).
If the buttons have noeffectthen the remote control can be resetand
“resynchronised” to the base as follows.
•Turn off the powersupplyto the base unit.
•Remove batteriesfrom the remote andthen put them back
again
•Leave the batterycoveroff
•Pressthe start button andthen turn the remote over and pressthe “Reset” button (use a biro or
similar) forat least 3 seconds. (The remote will automatically switch off after 10 s. If the Reset
has notbeen done in thistime, thenpressthe Start button again).
•The remote will give a series of longand shortbleeps to acknowledge the reset.
•Replace the batterycover, including the fixingscrews.
•Switchonthe power supply to the base unitand carryout the bleed process as described above.
Adjusting the remote control
Inside the batterycompartment are 4 small “DIP”
switchesthat are used to set variousfeatureson the
shower. Use these DIP switchesto set the following
features on the shower.

DIP 1:Automatic switch off
(The shower will automatically switch off ifno buttonsare pressedfor a pre-set time)
Use DIP switch 1 to sethow longbefore the shower automatically switches off
ON = 20 minutes
OFF = 10 minutes
DIP 2:Restrict range ofadjustment of Temperature buttons
(The temperature can be restricted to a range that is suitablefor less abled users)
Use DIP switch 2 to seta restriction on the temperature adjustmentrange
ON = Temperature canbe fullyadjusted between L(approx25°C)and H(approx46°C)
OFF = Temperature adjustment is restricted between 1(approx34°C) and 5(approx40°C)
DIP 3:Stop the water flowbeingadjusted to maximum setting
(Flow can be limited toabouthalfits maximum setting, used for savingwater and energy)
Use DIP switch 3 to stopthe flow buttons fromadjustment to itsmaximum value.
ON = Fullflow adjustment, minimum to maximum (approx6 to 12 litres perminute)
OFF = Flow cannot be adjustedabove about7 litres a minute.
DIP 4:Fix theflow rate (no flowadjustment possible)
(The flow rate can be fixed with the flow buttons unable to adjust the flow)
This switchMUST be set to Offwhen the plumbingscheme usesa combi boiler (See Page 7)
Use DIP switch 4 to fixthe flow rate toabout¾ of maximum (approx 9 litres perminute).
