Maintenance and care
The use of your inline skates results in natural ear and
tear. This requires the regular care and maintenance of
your skates. If it becomes necessary to replace certain
parts over time, for your o n safety you should only
use original parts.
S itching and replacing the heels (Fig. K)
The heels are the main replaceable components of
your inline skates. There is no general rule as to hen
they must be replaced. This is a decision made by each
individual skater, depending on the feeling and their
skating style. Ho ever, if the heels have become
considerably orn, they should be replaced.
Note that heels that have a different diameter to the
others ill alter the skate properties and, under certain
circumstances, may endanger the user. Therefore, if
heels cannot be properly inserted, do not use them.
Never install heels that are larger than the inline
skates' original heels.
With use of the skates, the heels ill become orn on
one side, i.e. the inside edge ears do n more quickly
than the outside edge. In addition to this, the front and
rear heels are subject to harder ear than the inside
heels. In order to enable the even and therefore long-
term use of the heels, the position of the heels
should therefore be s itched prior to replacement.
The majority of skaters ear out the heels on one
skate quicker than those on the other. This can, for
example, be do n to the fact that it is easier to corner
in one direction than in the other, or because the skater
brakes more often on one side than the other.
To s itch and replace the heels, use the Allen keys
provided. Place the keys on either side of the heel
axle and turn the axle shaft (1) and scre (2) in oppo-
site directions. Pull put the axle scre and remove the
heel (3). Install the ne heel into the frame. To tight-
en the scre , simply turn it in the opposite direction.
Please note the follo ing ith regard to the axle
scre s: After loosening the scre connection, the self-
locking paint must be re-applied to the thread of the
scre ! We recommend that you al ays do this as a
precautionary measure. Self-locking paint is available
in DIY stores or from specialist retailers.
After replacement:
If, after replacement, the heel slips to the side or
touches the edge of the frame, please do not use the
heel! Make sure than all of the scre s are still tight
after the first fe minutes of skating, and that nothing
has loosened or slackened. Tighten the heels once
again to ensure that they run smoothly and that there is
no noise coming from the bearings.
Important!
Ne heels increase the overall height of the inline
skates. This changes your distance from the ground
and the braking characteristics. For this reason, you
should adjust or replace the brake block.
Replacing the brake (Fig. L)
Replace the brake block promptly in case of ear.
Braking ears out the stopper. Worn out brakes do not
function properly. An angle of more than 40 degrees
bet een the frame and the surface is an indication of
orn brakes. If the distance bet een the brake block
and the ground becomes too large (>17 mm), the
brake block must be replaced.
To do so unscre the brake block scre s (3) of the
inline skates ith the Allen key provided. Unscre the
scre s and remove the brake block (1) from the brake
block holder (2). Re-attach the ne brake block to the
brake block holder ith the brake block scre s.
Replacement of the ball bearings (Fig. M & N)
The ball bearings enable the heels to turn ith a very
lo resistance. If the heels are finding it difficult to
turn, the ball bearings should be cleaned or replaced.
To do so, remove the heel (1) as described in the
"Replacing the heels" section. Position the hex key
( ith the handle) above the spacer (2) and push out the
spacer. Remove the bearing (3). Press out the other
bearing ith a hex key. Push in a ne bearing. Turn
the heel, insert the spacer and then push in a second
ne bearing. Fix the heel to the frame again as de-
scribed in the "Replacing the heels" section.

Cleaning & storage of the skates
Inline skates are technical sport and leisure equipment
and therefore ear out depending on the ability and
style of the skater.
After using your inline skates e recommend they be
thoroughly cleaned and dried. Remove small stones or
other objects that can, under certain circumstances,
become lodged around the heels. Remove sharp
edges that may have formed hile skating. Al ays
store your inline skates in a dry location.
