and lift out.
2. Carefully insert the drive and slide towards the connector in the
rear so that it mates properly.
3. Hold the drive in place and turn the drive/carrier assembly over.
4. Fasten the drive into place with the four mounting screws provided.
(Some drives may require minor adjustments before mounting)
5. Replace the drive cover and secure with two screws removed in
step 1.
Enclosure Setup Instructions
WARNING: The DataPort®1U Enclosure requires slide rails or
other support system to be rack mounted. The front mounting
brackets will not allow the DataPort 1U Enclosure to be rack
mounted without additional support.
1. Install universal 1U rails or appropriate support system compatible
with your rack mounting system.
2. Follow the instructions to install hard drives into the DX115 carriers.
3. Insert the removable carriers into the Digital Cinema DX115
frames.
4. Connect the host computer to the DataPort®1U with the appropriate
multi-lane or external SATA cable. (Cables purchased separately).
5. Power on using the switch located on the rear of the enclosure. For
best results power on the enclosure prior to powering on the host
system.
NOTE: The DataPort®1U Enclosure supports hot-swapping
of the drives in the removable drive carriers, provided the host
bus adapter supports that feature. When hot swapping drives,
ensure drive activity has stopped before removing the drive
carriers.
The DataPort®1U Enclosure with Digital Cinema DX115’s supports up to 2 removable SATA hard drives. It is available in
SFF-8470 multilane and Port Multiplied eSATA interfaces, outlined below. Consult the manual for your host adapter to
determine which interface it requires.

Rack Mounting Guidelines
•Elevated Operating Ambient: If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack
assembly, the operating ambient tempera¬ture of the rack environ-
ment may be greater than room ambient. Therefore, consideration
should be given to installing the equipment in an environment compat-
ible with the maximum ambient temperature (Tma) specied by the
manufacturer.
•Reduced Air Flow: Installation of the equipment in a rack should be
such that the amount of air ow required for safe operation of the
equipment is not compromised.
•Mechanical Loading: Mounting of the equipment in the rack should
be such that a hazardous condition is not achieved due to uneven
mechanical loading.
•Circuit Overloading: Consideration should be given to the connection
of the equipment to the supply circuit and the effect that overloading
the circuits might have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring.
Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be
used when addressing this concern.
•Reliable Earthing: Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment
should be maintained. Particular attention should be given to supply
connections other than direct connections to the branch circuit (e.g.
use of power strips).
