1 SLIMLINE FRAME INSTALLATION
a. InstalltheDP27intoyourcomputer’sopticalbayusingtheinstructionsprovidedbyyourcom-
putermanufacturer.
The DP27 requires 5v DC power provided over a 6-pin slimline cable. You may
requireathirdparty6-pinslimlineto15-pinSATApowercable(soldseparately)if
youareusingtheDP27inanATXcaseorserverchassis.
2 CARRIER EJECTION
2.1 PUSH-BUTTON VERSION
SlidetheEjectbuttontotheleftandthenpressintoreleasethecarrierfromtheframe(see
Figure1).
2.2 KEYLOCK VERSION
Firmlypresstheincludedkeyintothesquarekeyholeontheleftsideoftheframetoejectthe
carrier(seeFigure2).
3 DRIVE INSTALLATION
a. Ontherearofthecarrieraretwotabsholdingthecover
of the carrier in place. Separate the tabs and pull the
coverapartfromthecarrier.
b. Inserta2.5”7mmSATAdrivewiththetoplabelfacing
upintothecarrierbycompressingthefoamspringand
placingthedriveintothecarrierbottom(seeFigure3).
EnsurethattheuniedSATAandpowerdataconnector
isfacingoutoftherearofthecarrier.

c. Replacethecoverandsecureitbypressingdownrmlysothatthetabssnapbackintoplace
(seeFigure4).
4 OPERATING YOUR DP27
SlidetheDP27carrierintotheframe.Pushthecarrierinuntilitsnapsintoplace.Thedriveinside
ofthecarrierwillpoweronautomatically.
YourDP27removabledriveenclosureisnowreadytouse!Ifthedriveisalreadyformatted,itcan
beusedrightaway.Ifthedriveisbrandnew,oritsformatisnotcompatiblewithyourcomputer,
itwillneedtobeformattedbeforebeingused.Note that formatting a drive will erase all data
on the drive, so be sure to back up your data before beginning this operation.
