Before you begin installation, read all instructions thoroughly.
Proper tools will improve the quality of installation and reduce the time required.
This installation requires:
• Lowering of the exhaust
• Trimming of the heat shield
Periodic inspection of the trailer hitch should be performed to ensure all
mounting hardware remains tight and structural components are secure.
To help prevent damage to the product or vehicle, refer to the specified
torque specifications when securing hardware during the installation process.
CAUTION
Trimming heat shield can lead to sharp edges, use caution when handling heat shield.

Attach the fishwire to
the carriage bolt and
slide the spacer onto
the fishwire.
Push the bolt through
the hole followed by
the spacer, as shown.
Pull the bolt back into
position, protruding
from the frame.

Step 1
Remove the two push fasteners and
two bolts from behind each wheel well.
Remove three screws using an
8mm socket from bottom of fascia.
Step 2
Unclip the electrical harness
from the heat shield and exhaust.

Step 3
Lower the exhaust by removing two bolts from
the exhaust support using a 16mm socket.
Remove two torx-head bolts securing
the exhaust in place. There will be one
torx-head bolt on each side of vehicle.
Note: Be sure to support exhaust.
Step 4
Remove four fender nuts located above
the exhaust using an 8mm socket.
Remove the heat shield and set aside
for trimming and reinstallation.

Step 5
Remove the weldnut and access hole covers
from the frame rail. Remove the two bolts
from the fascia support brackets using
a 10mm socket. There will be one
bolt on each side of the vehicle.
Step 7
Reverse fishwire a 1/2" carriage bolt (#1)
and spacer (#6) into the frame through the
access hole on both sides of vehicle.
Step 6
Remove two nuts using a 16mm socket or
wrench from the bumper beam studs. There
will be one nut on each side of the vehicle.

Step 10
Guide the fishwire through the largest hole on
each side plate, raise the hitch until mounting
tabs are placed on the bumper beam studs,
then slide forward until hitch is in position.
Loosely secure the hitch by installing
the M8 hex bolt (#2) in the middle hole
of each side plate with a flat washer (#4)
and lock washer (#5).
Note: You may need to pull gently on
the fascia to allow enough room for
the hitch to be raised into position.
Step 9
Bend the rear-most part of heat shield
that was trimmed in Step 8 toward the
front of the vehicle. The heat shield should
come straight down so it's positioned
approximately in the middle of the
main beam of the hitch front to back.
Step 8
Trim the heat shield using the trim diagrams as
reference. Reinstall once trimming is complete.
Secure with four fender nuts
that were removed in Step 4.

Step 13
Reinstall the exhaust bolts that were removed during Step 3 and bolts for fascia support brackets
that were removed in Step 5. Reinstall the two push fasteners and two bolts that were removed in
Step 1 from behind each wheel well. Be sure all electrical is reattached that was removed in Step 2.
Step 11
Secure both mounting tabs to the bumper
beam studs using the nuts that were removed
during Step 6. Raise the exhaust back into
place and secure with two M8 hex bolts (#2),
flat washers (#4) and lock washers (#5).
Remove the fishwire from the 1/2" hardware,
making sure not to push hardware back
into the frame. Secure using the provided
1/2" serrated-flange nut (#3).
Step 12
Torque all M8 hardware to 27ft lbs,
M10 hardware to 53 ft lbs,
and 1/2" hardware to 110ft lbs.
