Unpacking Instructions
Read this before unpacking Fraction collector
F9‑C
This instruction contains information that is important for safety during the unpacking of
Fraction collector F9-C. Read the whole instruction carefully before starting to unpack
the system.
When you receive the delivery
•Record on the receiving documents if there is any apparent damage to the delivery
box. Inform your Cytiva representative of such damage.
•Move the delivery box to a protected location indoors.

Remove outer packing material and lift the
instrument
Follow the instruction below to unpack the instrument and lift the instrument onto the
bench.

CAUTION
Heavy object. Use proper lifting equipment, or use two or more
persons when moving the instrument. All lifting and moving must be
performed in accordance with local regulations.
Step Action
1Remove the plastic straps.
2Lift off the corrugated box.

Step Action
3Remove the pieces of foam from the top of the fraction collector.
4Lift off the packages and the foam sheet. Check the content of the packages.

Step Action
5Prepare for lifting. Use two persons and grip the instrument from the front and
from the back.
6Lift the instrument and put it in an appropriate location.
7Dispose of the packaging material in accordance with local regulations.
Accessories packages
Packages with accessories are placed on top of the fraction collector at delivery. The
contents are listed below.
•Six cassettes
•Cassette tray
•Uninet-9 cables
•Waste funnel
•Tubing
•Fraction collector F9-C

Remove the internal transport fixations
Follow the instructions below to remove the transport fixations from the inside of the the
fraction collector.
Step Action
1Remove the hose from the rail of the fractionation arm.
2Deattach the Button cover and remove the piece of cardboard.

Step Action
3Reattach the Button cover.
4Gently move the fractionation arm forward and free it from the piece of foam
that keeps it in place.

Step Action
5Remove the foam.
6Attach the waste funnel and put it in place.
