Indications
Your doctor has prescribed a very high-quality shoe that has been
developed and designed in such a way that less weight is applied to the
part of the foot which has been operated on. This design makes it pos-
sible for ulcers to heal as rapidly as possible, after surgery, fractures, etc.,
whilst at the same time your mobility remains intact. Walking in this
shoe is more difficult than in normal shoes; for this reason please read
the following information:
You must not drive a vehicle while you are wearing this shoe. Be extre-
mely careful when you climb stairs, cross a kerb and walk over uneven
ground. Walk more slowly than usual. As you are not wearing a normal
walking shoe, you need more ground clearance for the heel. You are
advised to wear surgical dressings or socks. If the product is not treated
properly, its function and optimal protection are no longer guaranteed.
OrthoWedge®
Shoe to reduce pressure on the forefoot
1. Open the shoe (A).
2. Insert the foot into the opened shoe.
3. Make sure that the foot is positioned securely in the shoe.
4. Close the shoe with the hook and loop fasteners (A). So that the fit is
snug, but not too tight.
5. Only roll as far as the inner edges (B) when walking. Do not roll-off as
far as to the outer edges (C). Otherwise it may negatively influence
the final outcome of surgery.
6. When worn for longer periods, it is recommended that the height of
the other foot is adapted to match (TwinShoe). The shoe should not
be worn for longer than 6 weeks.
