Gratulation zum Kauf Ihrer neuen DETOMASO-Uhr.
Sie sind jetzt Eigentümer eines Zeitgebers, der sich durch höchste Präzisi-
on und innovativem Design auszeichnet.
Für jede Uhr gilt, dass wir alle wichtigen Ersatzteile für viele Jahre bereit-
halten und damit garantieren, dass jede Uhr über einen langen Zeitraum
repariert werden kann.
Damit wir gewährleisten können, dass Ihre neue Uhr viele Jahre problem-
los funktioniert, lesen Sie bitte sorgfältig die folgende Bedienungsanleitung.

Wasserdichtigkeit
Die Wasserdichtigkeit Ihrer DETOMASO–Uhr ist mit 5 ATM getestet.
Das heißt, Ihre Uhr besteht unbeschadet Händewaschen, Baden, oder Regen-
spritzer. Sie ist jedoch nicht geeignet zum Schwimmen, Duschen oder Tauchen.
Wasserdichtigkeit ist keine bleibende Eigenschaft; sie sollte jährlich und
insbesondere vor besonderen Belastungen überprüft werden, da die ein-
gebauten Dichtungselemente in ihrer Funktion und im täglichen Gebrauch
nachlassen. Um die Wasserdichtigkeit einer Uhr zu gewährleisten werden
Dichtungen verwendet. Diese unterliegen einem natürlichen Alterungspro-
zess. Sie werden u. a. von Schweiß und Säuren angegriffen.
DIN 8310 regelt Kriterien, die neue Uhren aushalten müssen.
Die Widerstandsfähigkeit wird in Atmosphäre angegeben und auf dem
Gehäuseboden vermerkt. Ihre DETOMASO–Uhr hat eine Wasserdichtigkeit
von 5 ATM. Die Druckangabe 5 ATM darf nicht verwechselt werden mit
der Tauchtiefe, sondern ist die Denition des Prüfdrucks. Ein Prüfdruck
von 5 ATM wird in 50 m Wassertiefe erreicht.
Beim Schwimmen oder beim Sprung ins Wasser kann kurzfristig ein
größerer Druck auf die Dichtelemente entstehen als der garantierte Prüf-
druck. Besonders gefährdet sind die Uhren, wenn man nach längerem
Sonnenbaden ins Wasser springt, weil sich dann der Aufschlagdruck mit
dem Unterdruck durch die Abkühlung addiert, was leichter zu Schäden
führen kann.

Pflegehinweise
Ihre Uhr ist ein Meisterwerk der Feinmechanik.
Sie soll Ihnen lange die richtige Zeit anzeigen. Schützen Sie Ihre Uhr vor
Stößen, Magnetfeldern, starker Hitze, Wasser und Chemikalien, sowie vor
mechanischem Abrieb.
Zum Schlafen sollten Uhren grundsätzlich abgelegt werden.
Bei Kondenswasserbildung (Nebel unter dem Glas) muss die Uhr unver-
züglich ins Fachgeschäft gebracht werden, damit die Feuchtigkeit keinen
Schaden anrichtet.
Die Krone sollte beim Tragen immer eingedrückt sein.

Hinweis Automatikuhren
Bei den Automatik Modellen handelt es sich um mechanische Uhren, das
heißt, sie benötigen keine Batterie. Da es sich hierbei um mechanische
Uhrwerke handelt, sind sie den verschiedensten Umwelt- und Trageeinüs-
sen unterworfen.
Dazu gehören schwankende Temperaturen, wechselnde Luftdruckver-
hältnisse, Erschütterungen und die persönliche Beanspruchung durch
den Träger. Anders als bei Quarzuhren ist für diese Uhren eine geringe
Gangabweichung normal.
Eine Automatikuhr wird beim Tragen aufgezogen. Im Uhrwerk bendet sich
eine Schwungmasse, die durch Ihre Armbewegung die Zugfeder der Uhr
aufzieht. Damit Ihre Uhr läuft, muss die Zugfeder ein wenig aufgezogen
werden. Dazu reicht es, die Uhr anzulegen und mit der Hand ein paar
Bewegungen zu machen.
Die Uhr läuft selbstständig an. Solange sie getragen wird, zieht die Uhr
sich weiter selbst auf. Sobald Sie Ihre Uhr wieder ablegen, hört die Auto-
matik auf zu arbeiten.
Ist die Uhr lange genug getragen worden und vollständig aufgezogen, ver-
gehen viele Stunden bevor die Uhr stehen bleibt. Sie können die Uhr also
getrost über Nacht abnehmen. Diese Zeit zwischen Vollaufzug und völliger
Entspannung der Zugfeder nennt man Gangreserve.
Ihre Uhr kann auch per Handaufzug aufgezogen werden. Ziehen Sie die
Uhr durch Drehen der Krone in der Normalposition im Uhrzeigersinn auf.
Achten Sie darauf, die Uhr nicht zu überdrehen.

Einstellung der Uhrzeit und der 24-Stunden-Anzeige
1. Ziehen Sie die Krone heraus, in die 2. Position.
2. Stellen Sie die Uhrzeit und die 24-Stunden-Anzeige durch Drehen
der Krone im Uhrzeigersinn ein.
3. Drücken Sie die Krone wieder in die Normalposition zurück.
Einstellung des Datums
1. Ziehen Sie die Krone heraus, in die 1. Position.
2. Stellen Sie das Datum durch Drehen der Krone im Uhrzeigersinn
ein.
3. Drücken Sie die Krone wieder in die Normalposition zurück.

24 Monate Garantie
Wir garantieren, dass Ihre Uhr aus qualitativ hochwertigen Materialien
gefertigt wurde. Aufwändige Qualitätskontrollen garantieren, dass die Uhr
vor Verlassen der Fabrikation geprüft wurde. Trotzdem können Material-
fehler leider nicht immer ausgeschlossen werden. Sollte Ihre neue Uhr
nicht fehlerfrei sein, wenden Sie sich bitte innerhalb der Garantiefrist an
unseren Kundendienst. Auf Ihre Uhr gewähren wir 24 Monate Garantie
ab Kaufdatum auf alle Material- und Herstellungsfehler. Diese Hersteller-
garantie wird unbeschadet der gesetzlichen Gewährleistungsansprüche
gewährt. Die Garantie bezieht sich auf die Funktion des Uhrwerks und der
einwandfreien Verarbeitung der Uhr.
Nicht durch die Garantie abgedeckt sind Batterien, Verschleiß am
Gehäuse, Glas oder Uhrband sowie Schäden, die durch unsachgemäße
Benutzung entstehen (Unfall, Glasbruch, Wasserschaden, herausgerisse-
ne Krone).
Innerhalb der Garantie werden Fabrikationsmängel kostenlos von uns
behoben. Sollte die Uhr nicht zu reparieren sein, wird die Uhr durch ein
vergleichbares Modell ersetzt.
Eine Haftung für Neben- und Folgeschäden ist ausgeschlossen.
Im Garantiefall senden Sie Ihre Uhr zusammen mit Ihrem Namen und
Ihrer Adresse sowie einer Kopie des Kaufbeleges an den Händler, bei
dem Sie die Uhr erworben haben. Oder an die auf der Rückseite dieser
Bedienungsanleitung angegebenen Anschrift.

Congratulations on the purchase of your new DETOMASO watch. You are
now the new owner of a high precision time keeper characterised by its
innovative design.
We keep a long term stock of the most important spare parts for all our
watches, guaranteeing repair over a period of many years.
In order to ensure that your new watch functions properly for many years,
please read the following instructions carefully.

Waterproof properties
The water resistance of your DETOMASO watch has been tested to be 5
ATM.
This means that it is splashproof and that you may wash your hands or
take a bath with it. However, the watch is not to be worn in the shower or
when swimming or diving. Waterproofness is not a permanent characte-
ristic; it should be tested annually and in particular before the watch is put
under exceptional strain, as the seals deteriorate gradually in daily use.
The seals are the important factor in guaranteeing the waterproofness
of a watch. These age naturally and are also affected by perspiration and
acids.
ISO 2281 stipulates which standards have to be met by a new watch. The
level of waterproofness is given in atm and noted on the base of the ca-
sing. Your DETOMASO watch has been tested and has a water resistance
of 5 ATM. The specication „5 ATM” is not to be confused with the diving
depth; it is simply the denition of the inspection pressure. An inspection
pressure of 5 ATM is reached at a depth of 50 m. You cannot go diving
with this watch.
In some cases a short-term higher pressure than the guaranteed inspec-
tion pressure may be enforced on the seals, for example when swimming
or diving into water. Watches are at particular risk when the wearer dives
into water after sunbathing. The combination of the impact pressure with
the negative pressure caused by the sudden drop in temperature can
quite easily cause damage.

Instructions for care
Your watch is a high precision mechanical masterpiece and should serve
you well for a long time.
Please keep your watch away from magnetic elds, heat, water and
chemicals. Do not submit it to sudden impact or abrasion. Watches
should not be worn in bed.
In the event of condensation forming underneath the glass (misting), the
watch should be taken to a specialist as soon as possible to prevent the
moisture from causing further damage.
The crown should always be rmly pressed in or screwed tight during use.

Note on automatic watches
The automatic models are mechanical watches without a battery.
Mechanical watches are subject to all kinds of inuences from the
environment and the wearer. These include uctuations in temperature,
varying air pressure, vibration and strain caused by the wearer. Unlike
with quartz watches, slight tolerance is normal.
Automatic watches are wound during use. There is an oscillating weight in
the clockwork which winds the mainspring when your arm moves. In order
for your watch to work properly the mainspring has to be wound slightly.
All that is necessary is for you to wear the watch and move your arm a
little.
The watch starts automatically. As long as the watch is worn it winds
itself.
As soon as you take your watch off, the self-winding function stops
working.
If the watch has been worn long enough for it to be fully wound it will,
however, run for many hours before it stops. It is not a problem to take
the watch off over night. The period of time between the mainspring being
fully wound and completely unwound is called the power reserve. If you put
the watch back on in the morning the watch will be automatically wound
again during use. If the watch stops completely, then please simply follow
the instructions above.
You may also wind your watch manually. While the crown is in the normal
position wind the watch by turning the crown clockwise.
Be careful not to overwind the watch.

24 month warranty
We guarantee that your watch is made of high quality materials. Extensive
quality controls guarantee that the watch is checked before being re-
leased by the manufacturer.
Nevertheless, material faults cannot always be avoided. Should your new
watch show any faults, please consult our customer service department
within the valid warranty period.
We provide a 24 month warranty from date of purchase on all material
faults and production errors. This manufacturer’s warranty applies regard-
less of statutory warranty rights. The warranty covers the functioning of
the clockwork and the awless workmanship of the watch.
Not covered are: batteries, wear and tear of the casing, glass or watch
strap as well as damage caused by improper use (accident, broken glass,
water damage, pulled-out crown).
We will repair manufacturing faults free of charge within the warranty
period. Should the watch be irreparable it will be replaced by a compara-
ble model.
To obtain warranty services please return the product to the place of
purchase, together with a copy of your sales receipt or other proof of
purchase that shows the date of purchase. Alternatively you may send the
watch to the service centre listed on the back of this booklet.
