1. Verpackungsinhalt
Kontrollieren Sie bitte vor der Installation bzw. Inbetrieb-
nahme des ELICIUS Elektrizitätszählers den Verpackungs-
inhalt.
1 x ELICIUS Zähler 1 x Klemmendeckel
2. Allgemeine Beschreibung
Der ELICIUS Elektrizitätszähler ist ein Wirkverbrauchzäh-
ler der Diehl Metering Gruppe für direkten Anschluss in
einem Dreiphasen Vierleiternetz. Die Kommunikations-
technik ist in ein separates Gehäuse eingebaut, das im
oberen Bereich des Zählers eingesteckt ist. Die Komu-
nikationstechnik basiert auf den Open Metering System
Spezikationen, sowohl für Funk Netzwerke als auch für
drahtgebundene Netzwerke. Sie ist für den Multi-Utility-
Ansatz konzipiert.

4. Hinweise
Der ELICIUS Energiezähler darf nur von quali-
zierten Fachkräften montiert und in Betrieb
genommen werden. Das Gleiche gilt für Service-
arbeiten während des Betriebes. Bei Nichtbeach-
ten besteht die Gefahr schwerer gesundheitli-
cher Schäden oder Lebensgefahr durch
elektrische Stromschläge.
Verwenden Sie dieses Gerät bei Gerätefehlern
nicht mehr und kontaktieren Sie sofort den
zuständigen Kundensupport.
Ein Gerätefehler liegt dann vor, wenn z.B.
Beschädigungen am Gehäuse bzw. an der Zulei-
tung vorhanden sind.
Die einschlägigen Vorschriften gegen elektrosta-
tische Entladung (ESD) müssen beachten wer-
den.
Das Gehäuse darf nicht geöffnet werden.

5. Inbetriebnahme
5.1 Personal
Nach dem Aufklappen des Klemmendeckels besteht die
Gefahr der Berührung mit stromführenden Teilen, die zu
Verletzungen oder zum Tode führen kann.
Den Zähler darf deswegen nur entsprechend qualizie-
rendes Personal einbauen, das sich dieser Berührungsge-
fahr bewusst ist. Der Zähler ist nach folgendem Vorgehen
einzubauen.
5.2 Einbau
Prüfung, ob die Netzspannung der Zählerspan-
nung entspricht und der zu erfassend Strom klei-
ner oder gleich wie der maximale Zählerstrom
ist.
Diese Angaben sind auf dem Leistungsschild des
Zählers aufgedruckt.
Anschließen des Zählers an das Stromnetz nach
dem Schaltbild welches am Klemmenblock ange-
bracht ist. Die Klemmenschrauben sind mit
einem Drehmoment von < 2,3 Nm anzuziehen.
Die Anzeigeelemente sind beim angeschlosse-
nen Zähler zu prüfen. Ein schmaler Balken in der
LCD-Anzeige ist sichtbar, wenn der Laststrom
größer ist als der Anlaufstrom des Zählers.

6.1 M-Bus
Das Kabel eines M-Bus Masters in die Buchsen
23 und 24 stecken.
Es ist darauf zu achten, dass nur M-Bus Span-
nungen < 40 V verwendet werden dürfen.

6.2 Bedienung
Der Zähler ist so beschaffen, dass eine Bedie-
nung außer der Ablesung des Zählerstandes am
Anzeigeelement nicht notwendig ist.
6.3 Anzeigeelemente
Das Display besteht aus 2 Zeilen. Die erste Zeile dient
der Anzeige von Verrechnungswerten, die zweite
Zeile beinhaltet nur zusätzliche Informationen.
Für die Stichtagsanzeige werden beide Display-
zeilen benötigt. Die zweite Zeile erklärt die Art
und den Zeitpunkt des in der ersten Zeile ange-
zeigten Registerwertes.

7. Umwelthinweis
Das Gerät darf nicht mit dem Hausmüll entsorgt werden.
Senden Sie es zum Recycling an den Hersteller zurück.
8. Zulassung und Konformität
Das Funkmodul entspricht der in allen Ländern der EWG
gültigen europäischen Richtlinie.

Please check the package content before you install or
use the ELICIUS electricity meter for the rst time.

2. General description
The ELICIUS electricity meter is an active-energy meter
for direct connection to a three-phase four-wire network
made by the Diehl Metering Group. The communication
technology is integrated in a separate housing which is
inserted into the upper part of the meter. The communi-
cation technology is based on the Open Metering System
specications for radio networks as well as for wired net-
works. It is designed for a multi-utility approach.

4. Instructions
The ELICIUS energy meter should be mounted and
put into operation by qualied experts only. The
same applies for service work during operation.
Failure to observe this regulation could result in
serious health hazards or in danger to life due to
electrical shock.
In the event of equipment error, discontinue use
and contact the responsible customer support
immediately.
An equipment error applies when, for example,
the housing and/or the supply line is damaged.
Always observe the relevant regulations against
electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Do not open the housing.

5. Start-up operation
5.1 Staff
After opening the terminal cover, there is the risk of con-
tact with live parts which can lead to serious or fatal inju-
ries.
For this reason, only qualied service personnel being
aware of this risk must perform the meter installation.
Install the meter according to the following steps.
5.2 Installation
Checking if the mains voltage complies with the
meter voltage and if the power to be captured is
smaller or equal as the maximum meter power.
These values are printed on the rating plate of
the meter.
Connecting the meter to the power supply accor-
ding to the wiring diagram which is attached to
the terminal block. Tighten the clamp screws
with a torque of < 2.3 Nm.
The display elements must be checked when the
meter is connected.
A small bar is shown in the LCD display, when
the load current is lager as the starting current
of the meter.

Plug the cable of a M-Bus Master in the sockets
23 and 24.
Ensure that only M-Bus voltages < 40 V are
used.
6.2 User guide
The meter is of such a kind that operation except
reading the meter stand on the display element
is not necessary.

6.3 Display elements
The display consists of 2 lines. The rst line is
used as display of adjusted amounts and the
second line contains only additional information.
Both display lines are necessary for the due date
display. The second line explains type and time
of the displayed register value of the rst line.

7. Environmental note
The device must not be disposed together with the dome-
stic waste.
Return it to the manufacturer for recycling.
8. Approval and Conformity
The radio module meets the current European directives
valid in all countries of the EU.
