3 Connect the hardware

Connect the power supply. The Power LED displays
green and the Network LED blinks orange.

NOTE: Once the device is connected to Device Cloud, the
Network LED changes to green.
2 Write down device information
Write down the following information (located on the back of
the ConnectPort X2e SE):
Serial Number:
EUI 64:
Install Code:

NOTE: The Serial Number also is the Ethernet MAC
address, which is needed to complete Step 6. The
EUI 64 and the Install Code also are needed to
complete step 6.

1 Verify the kit contents
5 Configure the device using the Wi-Fi interface
aEnable the built-in web service on your device by
pressing the button. After you press the button,
you have 10 seconds to open the web interface.
NOTE: If the device has been previously configured
to connect to an access point, you must reset it to the
factory defaults before you can complete this procedure.
Press and hold the button for 10 seconds to reset.

Configure the Wi-Fi interface on your laptop to connect to
the gateway’s access point.
The name (SSID) of the access
point is cpx2e-se-xxxxxxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxxxxxx is the
serial number of the gateway.

From your web browser, enter the URL of the gateway:
http://192.168.100.1
Navigate to Configuration > Wireless Wizard.
Follow the configuration steps in the wizard.

4 Add the router to the network (router models only)
This step is for router models only. If you have a coordinator model, proceed to step 5.
Add the router variant to the Smart Energy network. Contact the utility company or owner of the Smart Meter if you’re unsure
how to add a router to the network.
NOTE: The router must be powered ON when you add it to or remove it from a Smart Energy network.

6Connect to Device Cloud and form a Smart Energy network
Go to http://www.etherios.com/products/devicecloud/developerzone.

bLog into your Device Cloud account as follows:
- New users: Click the Sign Up Now button for a free Developer Edition Device Cloud account. You can upgrade at any time.
- Existing users: Click the Login button in the upper-right co. Select Device Cloud U.S. or Device Cloud Europe. Enter your
login credentials.
cTo add devices, in Device Cloud navigate to Device Management -> Devices. Click the Add Devices button.
From the Add Devices window:
- To automatically discover the gateway: Click the Discover button to discover gateways on the local LAN/Network.
- To manually add the gateway: Next to the MAC address field, enter the gateway MAC address (for example: 00409D:XXXXXX)
and click the Add button.
To form or provision a Smart Energy Network, go to https://digi-se.appspot.com and log in using your Device Cloud
credentials, then proceed as follows:

- Navigate to the Debug tab.
- Select a gateway from the Gateway drop-down menu.
- Select the RPC_ZigBee_Interface menu (on the left).
- Click add_device.
- Fill in the appropriate EUI 64 address and Install Code for the device.
- Click Execute.
eTo display device readings and related data in App Spot, navigate to Network -> Tree or to Network -> In-Home Display.
