All in oor mo els operate on stan ar househol electric current. Simply plug the
power supply cor (inclu e ) into the transmitter an then plug it into a wall outlet as
you woul with any electrical evice.

All in oor mo els inclu e a green in icator light to let you know that the transmitter
(the evice that sen s the signal) is operating.
Once the power supply an the boun ary wire (if use ) have been properly connecte
to the transmitter, the green in icator light on the front of the transmitter will go “on”.
If you are using an in oor mo el with a boun ary wire, please note that the green light
will turn re (or go out) if the boun ary wire is broken or not properly connecte .

All in oor transmitters emit a co e FM ra io signal that is etecte by the receiver
on your DogWatch collar. You can change the ssiiggnnaall rraannggee( the istance the signal
ra iates off the boun ary wire or the wireless transmitter) by a justing the knob labele
“– +”. Turn the knob towar the “+” to increase the range an towar the “-” to
ecrease the range.
NOTE: The Scoot®mo el inclu es only a “High / Low” a justment option.
The maximum istance the signal can travel from the transmitter varies epen ing on
which pro uct you are using (see specific pro uct information).
Any break in the wire will cancel the signal fiel . If the boun ary wire is broken or the
system is unplugge , there will be no signal.

On the back of all in oor transmitters (except the I-50) is a small switch marke
4 KHz an 8 KHz. This switch sets your transmitter to the correct broa cast
frequency. Your ealer will set this switch for your system. The I-50 comes
pre-set to either 4 or 8 KHz.

The I-50 transmitter may be use as a wireless unit that emits a signal irectly from the
transmitter without the use of a boun ary wire oorrit may be installe with a boun ary
wire to establish larger or multiple avoi ance areas.
The MODE switch on the back of the unit allows you to choose your preferre
application.
You cannot use both applications at the same time.
INT allows you to use the transmitter as a
wireless unit.
EXT allows you to use the transmitter with
boun ary wire.

Wireless Use When using the I-50 as a wireless unit, place the unit in the area that you
want your pet to avoi . It may help to attach the transmitter to something such as
furniture, cabinetry or the wall. The signal range can be a juste up to a maximum of 8
feet in iameter (4 feet in all irections from the transmitter).

transmitter on or near large metal obects.
Boun ary Wire Use When using the boun ary wire, separate an strip the en s at
one en of the wire an connect one wire to each of the terminal connection clips
(labele TERM CONN) on the transmitter. Lay out the wire to establish the avoi ance
area(s)*. After you have complete your boun ary area(s), strip the other en s of the
wire an twist them together to complete the signal loop. The I-50 transmitter is
esigne to be use with a maximum of 1000 feet of boun ary wire.

the “+” to increase the range an towar the “-” to ecrease the range.
There are three green lights on the front of the transmitter. The first light in icates that
the power is “on” an the signal range is at the lowest setting. The other two lights will
go on as you increase the signal range.
Always test the signal fiel before allowing your pet near the avoi ance area.

“HIGH/LOW” switch on the back of the Scoot®. The
signal range will also vary epen ing on how far
apart the boun ary wires are separate (see page
6). With a boun ary iameter of about 4 feet, the
signal will ra iate about four feet off the wire when
the switch is set to “HIGH”, an about two feet when
the switch is set to “LOW”.
Scoot®is esigne to be use with up to 25 feet of boun ary wire.
Always test the signal fiel before allowing your pet near the avoi ance area.

The boun ary wire allows you to isolate one or more avoi ance areas within your
house that are off-limits to your pet. Follow these general gui elines when placing the
boun ary wire.

separate in the areas where you want to create a signal fiel (the avoi ance area).
When the two wires are next to one another, there is no signal fiel .

Separating the wires increases the size of the
signal fiel as well as the signal range (the istance the signal travels from the wire). A
signal fiel may be create in a single location or multiple locations on the wire.
When wiring a oor opening, the two wires are usually space about 10 inches apart.
For larger areas, the wires shoul be further apart.
The boun ary wire must form a
continuous loop for there to be
a signal fiel . To accomplish
this, you must strip an splice
the final en s of the boun ary
wire together.
The boun ary wire carries a
harmless ra io signal. You o

Collar tightness is critical. The collar shoul
be snug without being too tight. All contact
points must touch your pet’s skin.
A loose collar will allow the contact posts to
rub back an forth on the skin, possibly
causing irritation.
We recommen that the receiver collar be
remove at night to allow your og’s skin to
gra ually con ition itself to the contact
posts an to avoi potential skin irritation.
YYuurr DDgg’’ss RReessppnnssee tt SSttiimmuullaattiinn
Electrical stimulation has been a safe an
effective part of og behavior con itioning
for over twenty years. It will not harm your
pet.
All ogs respon ifferently when they feel
mil electrical stimulation. Some ogs may
emonstrate little, if any, reaction, while
others may yelp an /or jump back. Some
ogs “freeze.” Do not try to comfort your pet
after he receives electrical stimulation as this
will reinforce his anxiety.

Step-by-Step Instructi ns
Successful use of your DogWatch system relies on “avoi ance training” techniques.
If your pet enters an avoi ance zone, he will receive an au ible warning. If he goes
further into an avoi ance zone, the au ible warning is quickly followe by a mil
electrical stimulation or correction - - an unpleasant, but safe, experience. As training
progresses, your pet will quickly learn to stay away from areas that he associates with
the au ible warning.
IEnsure that the transmitter an boun ary wire are properly installe an that the
receiver collar is a juste appropriately for your pet.
IPlace boun ary flags on the e ge of the avoi ance area where the receiver collar
picks up the au ible signal. The boun ary flags serve as visual clues for your pet
while he is learning which areas are safe an which areas to avoi .
IAttach a leash to your pet’s regular collar an approach the avoi ance area. As you
near the flags, shake a boun ary flag in front of him, an firmly say, “Watch out!” or
“Careful!”
IAllow your pet to walk past the boun ary flags. As he crosses into the avoi ance
area, he will receive an au ible warning followe shortly thereafter by an electrical
stimulation. Imme iately call out, “Watch out”, an pull your pet back from the
avoi ance zone.
IAgain, allow your pet to approach the boun ary flags. If he retreats when he hears
the au ible warning, reinforce the behavior with praise an affection. If your pet fails
to stop at the au ible warning, shake the flag an say “Watch out” as he nears the
avoi ance zone. Use the leash to pull him back to the safety zone before he crosses
completely into an avoi ance zone.

If your pet enters the avoi ance area without respon ing to the correction signal,
make sure that both the transmitter an the receiver collar are “on” an working. If
both the transmitter an the receiver are functioning properly, you may nee to
increase the signal range on the transmitter or the correction level on the collar.

ICheck to see if the transmitter is plugge in, turne “on” an is isplaying a green

ITake the receiver collar off the og an check the receiver by placing the test light
on the contact posts while hol ing the receiver next to your wireless transmitter or
next to the boun ary wire. If your test light lights up, your receiver is working
properly. Be sure not to touch the contact posts.
IEnsure that the contact points on the receiver collar actually touch your pet’s skin;
tighten the collar as require .
IBe sure the battery is inserte correctly.
IReplace the battery if necessary.

ICheck to see if the transmitter is plugge in, turne “on” an is isplaying a green
light.
IMake sure that the power cor is securely plugge into both the transmitter an the
wall outlet.
IIf you are using a mo el with a boun ary wire, make sure the signal is being
transmitte through the wire:
ICheck to make sure the wire is properly connecte to the transmitter.
ICheck to see if there is a break in the boun ary wire.
ICheck to see if the en of the wire (the en not connecte to the transmitter) is
properly splice to complete the signal loop.
ICheck the range a justment on the back of the transmitter as well as the istance
the wire is separate to create the signal fiel . You may have too small a range or
too small a signal fiel thus allowing your pet to get too close to the boun ary area
before receiving a warning.
