REPLENISHMENT
(Every
25 OperallngHours Mlnlmum)
lf you continuallyoperatethe generator
set whilethe
coolant level is low, it will cause overheatingor even
engine
seizure. Be sureto replenishthetap water
(not
long lifecoolant or antifreeze).
NOTE: lf long life coolant was thrown away
inadvertently,the coolant systemmust be filled
with long life coolant or antifreezeof the same
concentration.
1. Removethe reservoir
tank cap. Replenishtap
waterup to the 'FULL'
mark.
Normally,do not removethe radiator
cap. But if
the reservoir tank contains no coolant, it is
necessaryto remove
the radiatorcap and to fill
the
radiatorwith tap water.
After tap water has been replenished, install the
caps securely.
-WARNING
-
- lf the radiator cap is opened too early when the
coolantternperature
is stillhigh,pressurized
vaporor
hot water will blow out, resulting
in personal
injury.
After the coolant temperature has dropped, slowly
open the radiatorcap by wrapping the cap with a
clolh.
- Be carefulof HOTWATER
BLOWINGOUTof breather
of reservoirtank.
CAUTION
- use tap waterto dilutelong lifecoolantor antifreeze.
- Withregardto coolant
- it is advisableto use a'long
lifecoolant'.
- Long life coolant or antifreeze
must be preparedin a
concentration
matchedwiththe lowesttemperaturein
your area.
- Use 'long life coolant or antifreezefor aluminum
engines'.
COOLANTCHANGE
(Every
500 OperatlngHours or Once a Year)
lf dirty coolant is used continually, rust formation or
corrosionwill be accelerated. As a resuh,it will incur
water leakage or overheating. Change coolant
periodically.
Remove
theradiator
cap. Draincoolantby opening
the draincock. At the sametime.drainthe coolant
fromthe reservoirtank.
Closethe draincock securely.
Loosenthe breather
plugof the intakemanifold.
Put the specified amount of undiluted long life
coolant (or antifreeze)in the radiatorand reservoir
tank. When filling radiator,do it slowlytaking a
sufficient
lengthof time. (Specified
amount: See
'Service
Data:).
Afterconfirmingthat coolanthasstartedflowingfrom
the breather
plug,
tighten
the breather
plug.
Fillthe radiator
with tap wateruntilthe radiator
is
full. Thenfillthe reservoir
tankwithtap waterup to
'FULL'
line.
After
fillingthe coolingsystemwithtap water,
close
theradiatorcaptightly,alsoinstallthe reservoir
tank
cap securely.
8. Starttheengine.Afterwarmingup,stoptheengine.
Afterthe engine has cooled, removethe radiator
cap. Checkto seeif
thecoolantlevelofthe radiator
drops. lf the coolantlevelis low, add tap water.
Also,checkto seeitthecoolant
level
ofthereservoir
tank drops. lf the coolant level is low, add tap
water.
9. Afteradding
water,
tighten
the caps securely.
TIGHTENING
OF BATTERYTERMINALS
& CLEANING
(CheckEvery125 OperallngHours)
To assure
smoothflowof electricity,
checkthe terminal
conditions
periodically.
1. Tighten
the terminalsif they are loose.
2. Cleanthe terminalsif they are dirtyor corroded.
3. lf the terminals exhibit white powder due to
corrosion,wipeoffthe terminalsusingwarmwater.
4. lf the terminal
sectionexhibitsexcessivecorrosion,
remove
the cableterminalby meansof a terminal
puller, Polishthe terminalsusing a wire brush in
combination
withabrasive
paper.
5. After cleaning and tightening, coat the terminal
sectionwitha thinfilmof grease.
