PURPOSE
Thefollowingprocedureassumesyouareconvertinga
Model 9600 Cash Dispenser to a Model 9610 Cash
Dispenser,usingthe9600-to-9610 Conversion Kit.
PARTS SUPPLIED
CONVERSION PROCEDURE
1. Open the ATM control panel and turn the power
switch (on the power supply panel) to the OFF (0)
position.
2. Openthevaultanddisconnectthe power and data
cables from the rear of the existing dispenser.
3. Removetheexisting dispenser from the slidetray.
4. Removetheslidetray.Pressinonthelockingfingers
locatedon eachslidetorelease theslidemembers.
Pulltheslidetrayoutandremove itfrom thecabinet.
5. The slide members attached to the cabinet will be
usedforthe9610 slidetray. Removethe sixscrews
thatholdthetrayslidemembers to the old tray and
attach those slide members to the 9610 slide tray,
using six (6) included 3/8-inch (9 mm) Pan Head
Phillips Screws. Place the 9610 slide tray back
onto the cabinet slide members.
6. Unlockandopen the ATMcontrol panel. Openthe
power supply panel (on the right side of the card
cage)anddisconnecttheexistingmechDC power
cablefromthebackplane connector.
Installthe 9610 DC power cable intothebackplane
connector, as shown. Route the other end of the
cabledown through the oval cutoutinthebottomof
the card cage and into the cabinet below.
RoutetheendoftheDCPowerCabledownthrough
thecutoutintherearoftheright rail bracket and let
it hang beneath the bracket.
Remove slide member from the tray.

Attach slides to tray using first set of holes
(three screws per slide).

Afterroutingthecable,closethepowersupplypanel
andtighten the mounting screws securely. Be sure
toremove theoldDCpower cablefromthecabinet.
7. Set the 9610 dispenser onto the tray. Turn the
dispenser so that the rear of the unit (where the
powerand data cable connectors are located) may
be accessed.
8. Plugthe EJ-to-Dispenser (Data) cable into the rear
connector of the EJ. Make sure the thumbscrews
ontheEJ-to-Dispensercablearetightened.
Route the end of the EJ-to-Dispenser cable down
throughthe cutoutinthe rear oftheright railbracket
andlet the free end hangbeneaththe bracket.
9. Plug the DC Power Cable AND the existing EJ-to-
Dispensercable intothemating connectorslocated
on the back of the dispenser. NOTE: Make sure
the white strain clip on the DC Power Cable is
pointing down. Make sure the thumbscrews on
theEJ-to-Dispensercablearetightened.
10. Turn the dispenser around with the cables facing
theback of thecabinetandalign the tabsandholes
in the bottom of the dispenser with the mounting
holes in the tray. Attach the dispenser to the tray
usingthefour(4)included3/8-inch(9mm)PanHead
Phillips Screws (two on each side).

Attach the dispenser to the tray with two screws on
each side.

11. Place the cable clip over the DC Dispenser Power
Cable and the EJ-to-Dispenser cable. Attach the
cableclip to the back rightflangeon the dispenser
usingtheincluded #8-32 screw/nut.
12. Slide the tray into the cabinet and back out again.
Make sure the cables are free to move and do not
catch on anything.
13. Loadthe currencycassette withcurrency.Affixthe
proper denomination label to the cassette, as
needed.Slide the dispenser back intothe cabinet.
Close and lock the cabinet door.
14. Record the ATM serial number and the date the
conversion was accomplished on the provided
adhesivelabel.
UnlockandopentheATMcontrol panel and locate
the existing ATM label. Place the new label on top
of the existing label. The new label should
completely cover the old label!
15. Turn the ATM power switch to the ON (I) position.
Close and lock the control panel.
Replace the existing certification label.
The cables should be routed through the back slide
rail as shown.
Attach the cable clip to the lower rear
flange of the dispenser.
