Dräger P7-TD – Quick Reference Guide
Any use of the Dräger P7-TD requires the full understanding of and compliance with the
instruction manual 5695075 (P7-TD) for this device.
The instruction manual can be found on our website www.draeger-msi.de/en in the menu item
Services >Downloads>P7 >Operating Instructions.
You can find the measurement data management software PC200P, which you can download after a brief
registration using your device number and your address data, in the menu item Services >Downloads >P7>
Software.
Only charge the Dräger P7 using the corresponding charger.
Key functions
Switching on: Simultaneously press the keys “F” and “H” for 1 second.
Switching off: Press the “F” key for more than 3 seconds or select “Switch off” in the “Functions” area.
All other key functions are shown on the display directly using the keys!
Functions
The individual tests and measurements are accessed via the “Functions” menu.
Pressure measurements
1. High pressure up to 0.12 MPa (1.2 bar)
Use pressure hose with pneumatic quick coupling NW5
2. Medium pressure up to 150 hPa (mbar)
3. Micro pressure up to 100 Pascal
4. Medium pressure up to 150 hPa (mbar) with pump function
5. High pressure up to 0.35 MPa (3.5 bar) or 2.5 MPa (25 bar) (with external high pressure sensor)
Follow the instructions for the Dräger P7 for pipeline testing!
Manual tightness test with absolute pressure and temperature compensation
Test pressure, stabilization period and measurement period can be set during the manual tightness test.
1. Select measuring channel 0 - 150 hPa (mbar), 0 - 3,500 hPa (mbar) or 0 - 25,000 hPa (mbar)
2. Select test pressure: 10 - 150 hPa (mbar), 100 - 3,500 hPa (mbar) or 1,000 - 25,000 hPa (mbar)
If a tightness test was selected in the 0 - 150 hPa (mbar) measuring channel, the internal or an external
pump can be used, to build up the test pressure. Tests with the 3,500 hPa (mbar) or 25,000 hPa (mbar)
channels can only be conducted using an external pump.
3. Select stabilization period: 00:01 - 12:00 h
4. Select measurement period: 00:01 - 12:00 h

Gas pipelines:
1. Serviceability (TRGI G 600) without dismantling the gas meter
Gas leak rate < 1l/h = unrestricted serviceability
Gas leak rate 1 l/h < 5 l/h = reduced serviceability (repair within 4 weeks)
Gas leak rate > 5 l/h = no serviceability (shut down immediately)
The actual operating pressure must be set as the nominal operating pressure for operating
pressures > 30 hPa (mbar); otherwise the operating pressure must be set to 23 hPa (mbar).
Use “leak measurement with regulator in line” for pipelines with a pressure regulator. The test pressure
is released under operating pressure, to fully open the regulator. The quick test and the measurement
for expanded volume are not DVGW (German competence network for all questions related to gas
and water supply) tested and cannot be stored. Depending on the stability in the gas pipeline, a quick
test can be conducted in approx. 7 minutes.
2. Automatic tightness test (TRGI G 600) 150 hPa (mbar)
3. Tightness test with external pump (TRGI G 600) 150 hPa (mbar)
Our recommendation for pipeline volumes exceeding 100 l.
Adaptation time and test duration for tightness tests according to TRGI G 600
4. Stress test (TRGI G 600) 0.1 MPa (1 bar) (0.3 MPa (3 bar) for medium pressure systems)
always with external pump
Use pressure hose with pneumatic quick coupling NW5 or an external sensor.
Stabilization period 2 - 10 minutes
Measurement period 10 minutes
Medium pressure systems: Stabilization period: 180 minutes
Measurement period: 120 minutes
The test duration must be prolonged by 15 minutes per additional 100 l of pipeline volume for
medium pressure systems with pipeline volumes exceeding 2000 l.

Water pipelines:
1. Automatic tightness test (DIN EN 806) 150 hPa (mbar)
Enter the volume of the water pipeline
Stabilization period 2 - 10 minutes
Measurement period 120 minutes for a volume up to 100 l
The measurement period is prolonged by 20 minutes for each additional 100 l of pipeline volume.
2. Tightness test (DIN EN 806) 150 hPa (mbar) with external pump
Enter the volume of the water pipeline
Stabilization period 2 - 10 minutes
Measurement period 120 minutes for a volume up to 100 l
The measurement period is prolonged by 20 minutes for each additional 100 l of pipeline volume.
3. Stress test up to DN50 max. of 0.3 MPa (3 bar) or up to DN100 0.1 MPa (1 bar) (DIN EN 806)
always with external pump
Use pressure hose with pneumatic quick coupling NW5 or an external sensor.
Stabilization period 2 - 10 minutes
Measurement period 10 minutes
4. Press connections (unpressed untight) with water 0.6 MPa (6 bar) (DIN EN 806)
with external high pressure sensor
Stabilization period 10 minutes
Measurement period 15 minutes
5. Tightness test with water 1.1 MPa (11 bar) (DIN EN 806)
with external high pressure sensor
Stabilization and measurement period depends on the material
After completion of the measurement, all measurements can be printed using an infrared printer or stored in
the Dräger P7.
