Wrong operation can cause accidents, shorten the life of the device and reduce its
performance.
Therefore, please be sure to carefully read the manual before using!
The manual will be submitted to end-users!

The manual is used for only reference, the specific shape design is subject to the real
object.
I. Usage
XD-5000 production-type rotary evaporator is a kind of device with the operation principle
as follows: put the rotary evaporation bottle (flask used to increase the evaporation area) in
thermostatic water bath under the condition of reduced pressure, and make the solution
diffuse and evaporate efficiently while being rotated. It is an ideal instrument necessary for
the concentration, drying and recycling relied on by the chemical industry, pharmaceutical
industry, foods, environmental protection, universities and colleges, and research
laboratories and so on, and especially adaptable to the small scale production unit.

II. Features
1. This apparatus uses the vertical structure modeling and makes full use of spatial
arrangement for the rotation, evaporation, condensation, collection units, and thus covering
little floor space.
2. The sealing element of this apparatus uses PTFE, which is corrosion-resistant and easy
for cleaning.
3. The condensation pipe adopts double-effect (through cold trap and snake type)
condensation method to ensure high recovery rate. Ball-milling mouth is connected,
assembled and unassembled easily. Feeding and discharge valves can realize continuous
adding of fluid and fast discharge.
4. Evaporation bottle (flask) is connected with the principal machine through the nut for
easy installation and uninstallation.
5. Thermostat adopts the touchable smart digital display, which can accurately set the
heating temperature.
6. Frequency control is available for the adjustment of rotation speed, with stable and
reliable digital display.
7. Water bath kettle can be moved up and down. The XD-5000-type kettle adopts the
method of single hand wheel lift, and XD-5000 adopts two ways, namely through power and
hand wheel.
III. Matters needing attention for use
1. Users should read the Manual first before use.
2. The power voltage must be in line with the specification stipulated in the Manual for this
product.
3. As for the expensive solution, a simulation technology experiment should be conducted
first. Then, the solution can be normally used after confirming the equipment can meet the
experimental requirements.
4. Any repair or inspection of the machine must be carried out5 minutes after cutting off the
power.

5. Glass pieces should be handled with care when installing, all the joints must be coated
with vacuum grease.
6. Can not be used under the environment full of flammable, explosive and narcotic gas.

V. Installation steps
1. After unpacking, check according to the packing list, and assemble according to Figure
I after scrubbing and drying them.
2. Principal machine should be aligned with water tank. If the ground surface is not flat,
smooth down by using hard objects.
3. Install the four-way valve: connect the valve to the principal machine, encase the
forcing screw into four-way flange mouth, encase the nylon collar, align the internal jointing
washer, and screw the forcing screw tightly.
4. Install the condensation pipe: insert it into the four-way ball-milling position and keep
vertical, screw the fixed packet ring with the slotted screwdriver tightly, and then screw the
cross clip tightly. Fix the condensation pipe with four-way butt joint through a special
connector.
5. Install the condensation elbow: connect the concave ball milling of condensation
elbow with the four-way ball milling, and clamp with the ball milling mouth clip; connect the
convex ball milling of condensation elbow with the connection bottle, and install the ball
milling mouth clip.
6. Insert the deeding tube into the standard concave milling mouth of four-way valve.
7. Adjust the position of all brackets, tight degree of screws, and fitness degree of glass
joints.

8. Install the rotation bottle: insert the cross screwdriver for spare parts into the aperture
of principal machine, lock the rotating spindle, loosen the flask and lock tightly, encase it
into the evaporation bottleneck, and clamp with the nylon snap ring. Screw it together with
the special PTFE seal washer into the head of principal machine, and screw the flask and
lock tightly with the flask lock wrench.
9. Pull the cross screwdriver off, start up the machine when feeling the head of principal
machine is easy to operate with hands, and make it rotate from slow to fast.
10. Connect the water inlet and outlet with the leather hose. Vacuum hose can be directly
connected to the vacuum pump, or connected through the vacuum meter of this machine,
which facilitates the observation of vacuum degree.
11. Only after being injected with water can the water bath be powered and heated.
Operation:
a) Wiring and electricity charging must be done by professional electricians, and ground
wire terminal must be grounded. (Power: utility power 220v/50Hz)
b)
Press the power switch to the state of ON (-) and turn the speed control knob, when the
principal machine will begin to rotate.
c) After injecting water into water tank, press the main switch of heating (-), choose the
heating power of 2KW, 3KW or 5KW according to the needs. Set the temperature needed
on the smart temperature controller, which can automatically control the heating process.
Heating without water is prohibited.
d) After completion of commissioning, power and heating switches will switched to the state
of Off (0), followed by the unplugging of power plug.
VI. Maintenance
1. After using it every day, wipe out various all residual traces of oil, stains and solvents on
the machine surface with soft clothes to keep clean.

2. The clear water inside the water tank pot should be frequently replaced, with the pot
cleaned.
3. Electrical part must be resistant against water inflow and moisture.

VIII. Storage and transportation

Instruments packed should be stored inside the room, with the temperature within the rage
of -10 ~ 40 ℃, relative temperature not exceeding 90%, non-corrosive gases and
well-ventilated condition. In the process of transportation, they should be free of moisture,
and handled with care.
IX. After-sale service
The warranty period for this product is one and half a years commencing from the leaving
the factory after being packed well or one year after users’ purchase. Under the premise of
using it according to the norms for storage and usage, if the product can not work normally,
we will provide the service of repair or replacement free of charge. (Glass pieces are
beyond the scope of warranty)
In case of improvements for this product, the real product will prevail,
and this Manual will not be changed any more.
