dedforit.Firstofallreadtheinstructionsslipsontheunit
andthenremovetheseafterwardswiththepackingfilms.We
recommend
youkeeptheoriginalpackagingincaseyouneed

onforfurthertransport.
Toreleasethetransportlockingscrews(Fig.1)
turn
thesein
clockwisedirectionuntiltheyslidedownapproximately15
mm
andthentightenthesebyturning
them
furtherinclockwise
direction.

Nowplacetheplatterdirectlyontothemotoraxis.Remove
thetonearmcounterbalancefromthepolystyreneinsertand
placethe
stem
ofthecounterbalance,afterreleasingthelocking
screw
(2),
intotheopeningintendedforthisatthebackend
ofthetonearm.Atthesametime,the
triangulär
recessonthe
stemshouldpointdownwards(Fig.4).Balancingas
well
as
settingof
stylus
pressureandanti-skatingwhichisnowneces-
saryaredescribedin
more
detailonpage18.
Pleaserefertotheseparatedatasheetforthestyluspressureof
thecartridge
al
readyinsertedintheunit.
Nowconnecttothereproducing amplifierandplacethe
mains
lead
intothesocket.Pleasepayattentiontotheseparateinfor-
mationintheseinstructions.
Subsequenttransport
Theplatterliesonthemotoraxisofthe
electronic
centraldrive
withoutadditionallockingandmustberemovedbeforeeach
transport.Inaddition,thetransportlockingscrewsmustbe
loosenedin
anti-clockwise
direction,pulledupwardsand
securedbyfurtherturning(A).Thetonearmcounterbalance
shouldberemoved.
Makesurethatthetonearmislockedandthatthestyluspro-
tectionis
swivelled
downwards.
If
youintendtodispatchyourunit,makesurethatthepackaging
is
impeccable
and,ifpossible,usetheoriginalpackaging.

In

coverinposition,turntheunitround
sothatthespecialhingesareinfrontofyouandareeasilyac-
cessible.Firstofallmakesurethattheinsertbracketsonthe
hinges,intowhichthecover
will
beplaced,areincorrect
posi-
tionbeforeyouplacethedustcoverinpositionparalleltothe
bracketsandpushthisin
fully.
Inthisposition(opening
angle
approx.60°)thecovercanalso
beremovedatall
times.
Shoulditbenecessarytocorrectthebalancingmoment(elastic
forcewhichkeepsthecoverabovetheconsole),thiscanbe
carriedoutbyturningbothknurledscrews.Pleaseadjustboth
screwsequally.
Inmost
cases,correctionby
half
a screwturn
eachwillbe
sufficient.
Settingupandoperation
Beforeplayingthefirstrecord,pleaseadjustthepickuparm
return
mechanism
follows:
1.
Releasethepickuparmandraiseitwiththearmliftlever.
2.
Swingthearmtothecenteroftheturntable.(Thearmis
returned
automatically).
Selectplatterspeed,331/3or45
rpm,
thenunlocktonearm,
move
stylustipprotectorupwards.
Nowremovetonearmfrompostandswingit
över
therecord.
Afterthetonearmhasbeenswung
över
therecordtheturntable
platterautomaticallystartstorotate.Whenthetonearm
islifted
fromitspostandplacedbesidethetonearmrest,theplatter
willrotate.Therecordontheplattercanbecleaned(withan
antistatic
cloth
etc.)whenthetonearmisinthisposition.
Duringthisoperation,attherecorddiameterof30cmor

anindex
hole
isperceptible,thisindicatesthecorrect
set-down
pointforthe
diamond
tothe
lead-in
grooveoftherecord.
Thisaidforthecorrectsettingofthetonearm
maybeswitched
offifthetonearmshouldbeloweredwhena 30cmrecordis
usedatanotherposition,forex.intheareaofa 17cmrecord.
In
orderto
lower
thetonearmtoa specificpositionofthe
record
only
a
light
touchoftheguidelever(8)orbypressing
theLIFTbutton(10)isnecessary.
Thecueingliftnowoperatesandthediamondisplacedcare-
fully
ontherecord.
Afterplayingtherecordthetonearmwillreturntotherest
andshut-offtheunitautomatically.Thecuecontrolleverwill
returntoitsoriginalposition.
It
is
recommended
tolockthe
tonearmandto
flap
downthestylusprotectionafter
play.
If
thearmisnotreturnedautomaticallydue,for
example,
to
an
anormality
inthelastgrooveofa record,werecommend
thatyoulift
the
armwiththeliftleverorbypressingtheLIFT
button,
andswingitinwardsbyhand.

Placethecueingcontrolin

recordcontinuestoptay.Thelastfewnotesplayedbeforethe
pausearerepeated.
