The nature of timber
The timber provided for this product is a soft wood which has been kiln dried and is pressure treated for protection
against rot and insect infestation.
Timber is a natural product and inherent properties can include knots, knot holes, imperfections, cracks and warping.
Due to the inherent properties of timber we make no guarantees that the timber you receive for your product will be
free from these natural properties. We will not replace any components for any of the following reasons:
•Timber that contains knots where they do not influence the structural stability of the product
•Cosmetics appearances - colour variations
•Timber that has shakes, cracks, gaps or sap which do not influence the structural strength of the product
•Timber that has been covered or buried underground
•Twisted timber that can be installed
•Queries arising from a neglectful manner during assembly or as a result of incorrect assembly
•Queries due to modifications by the owner causing the timber to deform
Any valid queries will be satisfied by the exchange or replacement of the defective parts only on a supply only basis.
Colour transfer
This product has been pressure treated with wood preservative and a brown colour additive. Consideration should be
given to the propensity of the material to stain light colour adjacent surfaces, such as paving flags, render or coated
timber surfaces. We recommend contact between the timber and these surfaces is limited, and careful consideration to
storing the product prior to assembly should be taken in order to prevent such discolouration.
Assembly Preparation
This product has been designed for self-assembly and recommend that assembly is carried out by two DIY competent
people. It is important that the assembly instructions are followed carefully and we recommend that the assembly
instructions are read through in their entirety prior to assembly to allow you to familiarise yourself first.
We recommend ensuring that the product is assembled in an appropriate location and on an appropriate base for
the product. It is imperative that the product is installed square, level and plumb.
To assemble your product we recommend that you have the following:
•Stepladder
•Drill and 3mm drill bit
•Spirit level
•Tape measure
•Screwdriver
•Rubber mallet
•Gloves - if you wish for extra protection when handling pressure treated timber
All screw holes need to be pre-drilled using a 3mm drill bit (not provided) to avoid timber splitting.
Pressure treated products do not need to be treated immediately or have a timber preservative applied.
Pressure treatment does not mean that the timbers are waterproof, so you may wish to apply a water repellent.

Step 1 - required components
Insert the post 70x70x1965.A into the metal bracket
(SMB092) and secure by screwing through the post
using 4x35mm screws per bracket. (x4)
Make sure all of the brackets are facing the same
direction.
Remember to pre-drill all screws.

Step 2 - required components
Position the beams 65x35x2300.A and 65x35x2300.A.ML flush on top of the posts
70x70x1965.A. Fix the beams into position using 2x70mm screws per end.
Ensure that the notches on 70x70x1965.A are facing inside the gazebo in all 4
corners.

Step 2 cont. After assembling the beams 65x35x2300.A to posts 70x70x1965.A, use a tape measure to check the
distance of the top and bottom diagonals. Make sure they are all the same before continuing with
the installation.

If they are different check with the spirit level to find out where the structure is unlevel. Sligthly move the posts if it is
necessary and make sure you screwed the beams properly, with the top and the side flush to the posts.

We recommend to fix one post support 70x35x650.C per
corner (Fig. 1) to make sure the structure remains level and
screw just 2x 70mm screws, one on the top (screw A) into
the beams 65x35x2300.A / 65x35x2300.A.ML and one on the
bottom (screw B) into the posts 70x70x1965.A.
Check that the dimensions indicated on the diagram (Fig. 1),
(460mm and 525mm), are consistent for all post supports on
all 4 corners.
After checking the structure is still level you can now screw
the rest of 70mm screws and 100mm screws and also fix
the remaining post supports 70x35x650.C.

Position the first roof panel into the notch of the post

temporary posts 35x35x2118.
Position the second roof panel next to the
first one, also fitting into the notch on the
post 70x70x1965.A, and then move the
temporary post to the joint between both
roof panels to hold them at the same time
as shown below.

Step 4 cont. Position the third roof panel next to the second one and hold it in position by
moving the temporary post 35x35x2118 from the corner joint.
Position the fourth and
last roof panel.
Make sure all the panels
properly fit on top of the
structure. Use the rubber
mallet if necessary to
adjust the roof panels.

Keep in place the

posts.

them together by using
3x60mm screws. Screw
through one purlin to the
other as shown below in view

Do not forget to pre-drill
before screwing.
You will need to repeat this
action x3 for the rest of the
joints.
You can now remove the
35x35x2118 temporary posts.

Secure the roof by screwing through the
beams 65x35x2300.A & 65x35x2300.A.ML
using 2x100mm screws, two per each
corner.
Fix the roof to the middle of the beams
65x35x2300.A and 65x35x2300.A.ML by
screwing through the beam into the
middle support, using 2x70mm screws per
panel.
This step is required for all roof panels.

Step 7 - required components
Position the Shiplap F2.2500.A around the edge of
the roof leaving a small gap of approximately 2mm
as shown below.
Secure the Shiplap F2.2500.A by screwing through
into the beam 65x35x2300.A using 5x35mm screws
per component. (x4)

Before you start assembling the dome on the top of the roof,
position the temporary post 70x35x880 and 70x35x2095 to
secure the roof against the weight.
Position 70x35x880 in
the middle of the
aperture holding both
sides of the roof, and
use 70x35x2095 to
support the roof for
this process.

Position the Plastic frame on
top of the roof. Then fix the
frame to the roof by using
12x20mm screws, 3 per side.
If you have chosen roof felt to cover the roof, you should fit it
under the plastic frame and seal all the joints by using silicone
(not provided) to avoid any leaks.
Note: Periodically check the silicone and replace if necessary.

After fixing the plastic frame, add two timber
dome supports 50x35x334.A per corner. Make
them flush with the L shape side of the plastic
frame and screw by using 2x60mm screws per
component as shown in the diagram.

Step 11 - required components
Position the dome on top of the roof. Ensure the
dome is centralised on the 50x25x334.A timbers,
with an equal overhang on each side. Fix into
place by using 16x20mm screws, four per corner.
Notice! The dome is made of a fragile material
and it could crack when you are screwing. We
recommend special care to taken with this step.

Use one washer-cap per screw and position them on
the top of the dome as shown.
Once again, seal all the edges by using silicone to
ensure no future leaks.
Once the dome has been installed, the gazebo is completely assembled. You can now remove the
temporary posts and start to enjoy your Erin Gazebo.

2.5 x 2.5m Erin Gazebo - Roof felt fitting instructions
Fully cover the roof with the plastic waterproof membrane leaving a minimum of 30mm overhang. Use a staple gun or tacks
to secure the membrane to the roof boards.
Cut the 1st roll of felt into 4 equal pieces (Fig. 1).
Starting at the lowest edge of the roof, cut the felt at an angle alongside the ridge (Fig. 2). Overhang felt at the bottom of
the roof by approximately 30mm (Fig.5). Use 10mm clout nails at approximately 50mm centers for the bottom row, the
upper rows at 200mm centers horizontally and 300mm centers vertically, up to the top roof board.
Continue laying the remainder felt (Fig.3) and nail into the Shiplap as per the 1st layer of felt.
For each of the 4 ridges, using the 2nd roll of felt, cut a length of the felt in half and nail alongside the ridge, overlapping by
approximately 250mm. Use 10mm clout nails at approximately 50mm centers (Fig.4).
Trim as required, should you wish.
