TheNatureofWood
Thewood provided foryourgazeboissoftwoodwhich hasbeen kilndriedandispressure
treated.Woodisanaturalproduct,which may have knots,knotholes,imperfections, cracksand
warping.
• Duetotheinherentpeculiaritiesofwood wemake no guaranteeswithregardstotheabove,
norwill wereplace any lengthsoftimberforany ofthe followingreasons:
• Anytimberthathasbeen treated,paintedorstainedbythe purchaser.
• Anytimberthatcontainsknotswherethey do notinfluence the structuralstabilityofthe
gazebo.
• Cosmeticappearances-colourvariationscaused by thestructureorageofthetimber.
• Timberthathasshakes,cracksorgapsthatdo notinfluence the structuralstrengthofthe
gazebo.
• Twisted timberthatcanbeinstalled.
• Queriesarising fromaneglectfulmannerofconstruction,be it withthefoundation orerection
ofthegazebo.
• Queriesduetomodificationsby theowner, suchasintroduction ofownguttering,etc,
causing timbertodeform.
• Anyvalidquerieswillbesatisfied by theexchangeor replacementofthedefective parts
only.
GETTINGREADY
Priortoassembly,storeall components inacool,dry place away fromdirectcontact with the
ground, sunlightor moisture. When selecting thelocation for yourgazebo,ensurethat the
gazebowillnot besubjectedto extremeweatherconditions. If your gazebois in an isolated
area where strongwinds often occur,then youshould takeprecautionsto securethe gazeboto
theground.
• Always checkallparts arepresent andcorrectprior to commencingthe gazeboconstruction
• Allowsufficient timeto familiarize yourself, or the customersbuilders,with theinstructions
prior tothe building ofthegazebo
• Checkcarefully thatall instructions areincluded.
Pre-drill allscrewsto avoidsplitting thetimber.

Preparation forAssembly
Tobuildyourgazebo youwillneed:
Twopeople,astepladder,hammer,sharpknife,drill withdrill bits,spiritlevel, screwdriver, saw,
pair of pliersandameasuringtape.Asaprecautionarymeasure,protectivegloves canbeworn.
Foundation
Acorrectfoundation is paramount to installingyour gazebocorrectly. Onlyacompletely level
andsquare loadbearing foundationwill ensure astable andproblemfreeinstallation.
Ifyoubuildafullconcretebase pleasemakesure that it is approximately 100mmlarger than the
gazebo base with runoffs.

(with thecutoutspointingtowardstheroof)you
cannowfully covertheroofofyourgazebowith
shingles.
Allofthestripsofshingleswillnowhavethecut
outspointingtowardstheground.
Start byfixingtheshinglestripsdirectly on topof
thebottomrowsthatwerefixedintheprevious
step,untilyour gazeboresemblesthediagram.
