Chapter 1: Safety Guidance
This cha ter rovides im ortant safety information related to the use of NECG-12
electrocardiogra h.
1.1 Intended Use/Indications for Use
The intended use of NECG-12 electrocardiogra h is to acquire ECG signals from adult and
ediatric atients through body surface ECG electrodes. The electrocardiogra h is only intended
to be used in hos itals or healthcare facilities by doctors and trained healthcare rofessionals. The
cardiogram recorded by the electrocardiogra h can hel users to analyze and diagnose heart
disease. However, the inter reted ECG with measurements and inter retive statements is offered
to clinicians on an advisory basis only.
WAR I G
1. This equip ent is not designed for intracardiac use or direct cardiac application.
2. This equip ent is not intended for ho e use.
3. This equip ent is not intended for treat ent or onitoring.
4. This equip ent is intended for use on adult and pediatric patients only.
5. The results given by the equip ent should be exa ined based on the overall clinical
condition of the patient, and they can not substitute for regular checking.
1.2 Warnings and Cautions
In order to use the electrocardiogra h safely and effectively, and avoid ossible dangers caused
by im ro er o eration, lease read through the user manual and be sure to be familiar with all
functions of the equi ment and ro er o eration rocedures before use.
Please ay more attention to the following warning and caution information.

1.2.1 Safety Warnings
WAR I G
1. The electrocardiograph is intended to be used by qualified physicians or personnel
professionally trained. They should be fa iliar with the contents of this user anual
before operation.
2. Only qualified service engineers can install this equip ent, and only service
engineers authorized by the anufacturer can open the shell. Otherwise, safety
hazards ay happen.
3. EXPLOSIO HAZARD - Do not use the electrocardiograph in the presence of
fla able anesthetic ixtures with oxygen or other fla able agents.
4. SHOCK HAZARD - The power receptacle ust be a hospital grade grounded outlet.
Never try to adapt the three-prong plug to fit a two-slot outlet. This equip ent ust
only be connected to a supply ains with protective earth.
5. Make sure that the power is turned off and the power cord is disconnected fro the
AC socket before connecting or disconnecting equip ent. Otherwise, electrical
shock or other injuries ay happen to the patient or operator.
6. If the integrity of the external protective conductor is in doubt, the equip ent should
be powered by an internal li-ion rechargeable battery.
7. Do not use this equip ent in the presence of high static electricity or high voltage
equip ent which ay generate sparks.
8. Only the patient cable and other accessories supplied by the anufacturer can be
used. Or else, the perfor ance and electric shock protection can not be guaranteed.
The electrocardiograph has been safely tested with the reco ended accessories,
peripherals, and leads, and no hazard is found when the electrocardiograph is
operated with cardiac pace akers or other sti ulators.
9. Make sure that all electrodes are connected to the patient correctly before operation.
10. Ensure that the conductive parts of electrodes and associated connectors, including
neutral electrodes, do not co e in contact with earth or any other conducting objects.
11. Disposable electrodes ust be used during defibrillation.

with a defibrillator.
15. Do not touch accessible parts of non- edical electrical equip ent and the patient
si ultaneously.
16. The use of equip ent that applies high frequency voltages to the patient (including
electrosurgical equip ent and so e respiration transducers) is not supported and
ay produce undesired results. Disconnect the patient data cable fro the
electrocardiograph, or detach the leads fro the patient prior to perfor ing any
procedure that uses high frequency surgical equip ent.
17. Fix attention on the exa ination to avoid issing i portant ECG waves.
18. SHOCK HAZARD - Don’t connect non- edical electrical equip ent, which has been
supplied as a part of the syste , directly to the wall outlet when the non- edical
equip ent is intended to be supplied by a ultiple portable socket-outlet with an
isolation transfor er.
19. SHOCK HAZARD - Don’t connect electrical equip ent, which has not been supplied
as a part of the syste , to the ultiple portable socket-outlet supplying the syste .
20. Do not connect any equip ent or accessories that are not approved by the
anufacturer or that are not IEC/EN 60601-1-1 approved to the electrocardiograph.
The operation or use of non-approved equip ent or accessories with the
electrocardiograph is not tested or supported, and electrocardiograph operation and
safety are not guaranteed.
21. Any non- edical equip ent (such as the external printer) is not allowed to be used
within the patient vicinity (1.5 /6ft.).
22. Do not exceed the axi u per itted load when using the ultiple portable
socket-outlet(s) to supply the syste .
23. Multiple portable socket-outlets shall not be placed on the floor.

WAR I G
24. Do not use the additional ultiple portable socket-outlet or extension cord in the
edical electrical syste , unless it’s specified as part of the syste by the
anufacturer. And the ultiple portable socket-outlets provided with the syste shall
only be used for supplying power to equip ent which is intended to for part of the
syste .
25. Accessory equip ent connected to the analog and digital interfaces ust be certified
according to the respective IEC/EN standards (e.g. IEC/EN 60950 for data
processing equip ent and IEC/EN 60601-1 for edical equip ent). Further ore all
configurations shall co ply with the valid version of the standard IEC/EN 60601-1-1.
Therefore anybody, who connects additional equip ent to the signal input or output
connector to configure a edical syste , ust ake sure that it co plies with the
require ents of the valid version of the syste standard IEC/EN 60601-1-1. If in
doubt, consult our technical service depart ent or your local distributor.
26. Connecting any accessory (such as external printer) or other device (such as the
co puter) to this electrocardiograph akes a edical syste . In that case,
additional safety easures should be taken during installation of the syste , and the
syste shall provide:
a) Within the patient environ ent, a level of safety co parable to that provided by
edical electrical equip ent co plying with IEC/EN 60601-1, and
b) Outside the patient environ ent, the level of safety appropriate for non- edical
electrical equip ent co plying with other IEC or ISO safety standards.
27. All the accessories connected to the syste ust be installed outside the patient
vicinity, if they do not eet the require ents of IEC/EN 60601-1.
28. You should purchase co puter, printer, tread ill, ergo eter and BP onitor fro the
anufacturer. Otherwise, the anufacturer will not be held responsible for the
aintenance of the PC hardware, operating syste and other accessories.
29. If ultiple instru ents are connected to a patient, the su of the leakage currents
ay exceed the li its given in the IEC/EN 60601-1 and ay pose a safety hazard.
