WARNING:

WIRING SAFETY FOR UK USE ONLY
IMPORTANT
As the colours in the mains lead of this appliance
may not correspond with the coloured markings
identifying the terminals in your plug, please
proceed as follows:
The wires in the mains lead are labelled in
accordance with the following code:
Blue neutral [N] Brown live [L]
Green/Yellow [EARTH]
Plug Fitting Details (Where Applicable). The
wire labelled blue is the neutral and must be
connected to the terminal marked [N].
The wire labelled brown is the live wire and must
be connected to the terminal marked [L].
The wire labelled green/yellow must be
connected to the terminal marked with the letter
[E].
On no account must either the brown or the blue
wire be connected to the [EARTH] terminal.
Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened
correctly.
The plug must be tted with a fuse of the same
rating already tted and conforming to BS 1362
and be ASTA approved.
If in doubt consult a qualied electrician who will
be pleased to do this for you.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug
If your appliance is supplied with a non-
rewireable plug tted to the mains lead and
should the fuse need replacing, you must use an
ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of
the same rating).
If in doubt, consult a qualied electrician who will
be pleased to do this for you.
If you need to remove the plug - disconnect it
from the mains - then cut it o of the mains lead
and immediately dispose of it in a safe manner.
Never attempt to reuse the plug or insert it into a
socket outlet as there is a danger of an electric
shock.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST USE:
1. Remove the parts from the packaging.
2. Prior to initial use, clean your percolator by going through several boiling cycles, using clean
water with each cycle and lling the percolator to its upper marking. The water will reach boiling
point after approximately 5 minutes. The percolator switches o automatically.
3. Your appliance is now ready for normal use.
Note: Always ll the percolator rst, then set the appliance onto the power base, and nally plug
the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, remove the percolator body from the power base, then
remove the plug from the wall outlet.
Dispose of the packaging in a responsible manner.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
Note: Do not operate the percolator without
adding the minimum amount (500 ml) of water
rst.
1. Remove the cover, basket, lid and pump
tube with spring. Using the measurement
markings (located inside the body) ll the
percolator with the desired amount of
water.
2. For best results be sure to use cold water
when lling the percolator.
3. To help keep small coee grinds from
sifting through the holes in the basket, run
cold water over the coee basket.
4. Place the basket on top of the pump tube.
5. Add the desired amount of coee
according to the level markings on the
basket. Be certain to use a grind designed
for percolator coee, or use a coarse
grind. Finer grinds may sift through the
holes in the basket.
6. Place the basket and pump tube
assembly into the percolator, ensuring the
bottom of the tube ts into the well.
7. Place the basket cover on top of the
basket and push the cover onto the top of
the percolator.
8. CAUTION: When placing the lid onto the
percolator, ensure the steam outlets are
facing away from the handle to avoid
scalding.
9. Place the percolator onto the power base
and plug the base into a mains socket.
The light indicator will turn red.
10. Brewing begins within seconds and
continues at a rate of approximately one
cup per minute.
11. Once the brewing cycle is complete, the
indicator light will turn green to signal that
your coee is ready.
12. Warning: Ensure the percolating process
has stopped completely before removing
the cover.
WARNING! DO NOT touch the stainless steel
parts of the percolator as they will be hot.

The following chart serves as a guide for
preparing various brew strengths. Amounts can
be varied to suit personal taste and particular
coees.

CLEANING AND CARE
• Before attempting to clean the appliance,
empty it, remove it from the power base,
then remove the plug from the wall socket
and switch it o. Make sure the unit is
sitting evenly on a at surface before
commencing cleaning.
• Grasp the cover by the percolator handle
and gently pull it straight up.
Note: The appliance should be stored with the
cover o whenever possible.
• Gently pull the basket, basket cover
and the pump tube straight up out of
the body. Take the lid o the basket and
discard used coee grinds. The percolator
cover, basket, lid and pump tube (with
spring) can all be placed into the upper
rack of a dishwasher or washed in warm
soapy water and rinsed thoroughly.
Never immerse the percolator body or
power base in water or wash them in a
dishwasher.
• To clean the percolator body and base
simply wipe them with a clean, damp
cloth and dry them before storing.
• Do not use scouring agents or harsh
cleaners on any part of the percolator.
Note: The washer at the bottom of the
pump tube must move freely. Should
coee grounds become trapped near the
washer, loosen them with a tooth pick,
then run the tube under tap water to
clean it.
De-scaling
• Important: Failure to de-scale your
percolator may invalidate your guarantee.
To minimise scale build-up:
• Empty the percolator of water after each
use.
• Do not allow water to stand in the
percolator overnight.
• Using ltered water instead of tap water
will help to reduce limescale build up.
How to de-scale:
• Any regular de-scaling agent may be
used, provided the relevant instructions
are observed.
• Do not ll the percolator to the upper
mark to avoid spillage if the de-scaling
agent causes the water to foam.
• To clean the percolator thoroughly of any
de-calcication residues let it go through
several boiling cycles using clean water.
WARNING:
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY ELECTRICAL PART
OF THE APPLIANCE IN WATER SUCH AS
MOTOR UNITS OR PLUGS.
