CLEANING AND CARE
• Before attempting to clean the appliance,
empty it, remove it from the power base,
then remove the plug from the wall socket
and switch it o. Make sure the unit is
sitting evenly on a at surface before
commencing cleaning.
• Grasp the cover by the percolator handle
and gently pull it straight up.
Note: The appliance should be stored with the
cover o whenever possible.
• Gently pull the basket, basket cover
and the pump tube straight up out of
the body. Take the lid o the basket and
discard used coee grinds. The percolator
cover, basket, lid and pump tube (with
spring) can all be placed into the upper
rack of a dishwasher or washed in warm
soapy water and rinsed thoroughly.
Never immerse the percolator body or
power base in water or wash them in a
dishwasher.
• To clean the percolator body and base
simply wipe them with a clean, damp
cloth and dry them before storing.
• Do not use scouring agents or harsh
cleaners on any part of the percolator.
Note: The washer at the bottom of the
pump tube must move freely. Should
coee grounds become trapped near the
washer, loosen them with a tooth pick,
then run the tube under tap water to
clean it.
De-scaling
• Important: Failure to de-scale your
percolator may invalidate your guarantee.
To minimise scale build-up:
• Empty the percolator of water after each
use.
• Do not allow water to stand in the
percolator overnight.
• Using ltered water instead of tap water
will help to reduce limescale build up.
How to de-scale:
• Any regular de-scaling agent may be
used, provided the relevant instructions
are observed.
• Do not ll the percolator to the upper
mark to avoid spillage if the de-scaling
agent causes the water to foam.
• To clean the percolator thoroughly of any
de-calcication residues let it go through
several boiling cycles using clean water.
