LOCATION
Do not use outdoors.
Never cook directly in the base unit. Always use the ceramic pot.
Always locate your cooker away from the edge of the work top.
Ensure that the cooker is used on a stable, flat, heat resistant surface.
Do not use too close to curtains, draperies, walls, cupboards and other ammable
and combustible materials.
Keep your appliance away from any hot burners and heated ovens.
UNPLUGGING THE UNIT
e socket should always be switched o before plugging or unplugging from the socket.
Never yank the cord to disconnect from the socket, instead grasp and pull the plug to disconnect.
Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces. Let the appliance cool completely before storing.
Do not let the mains lead hang over the edge of the work top where a child could reach it.
Do not let the lead run across a cooker or other hot area which might damage the cable.
CHILD SUPERVISION
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
Never allow a child to operate this appliance.
Children are vulnerable in the kitchen particularly when unsupervised and if appliances are
being used or cooking is being carried out.
Teach children to be aware of dangers in the kitchen, warn them of the dangers of reaching
up to areas where they cannot see properly or should not be reaching.

Class 1 Conguration
e wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
GREEN/YELLOW: EARTH (E)
BLUE: NEUTRAL (N)
BROWN: LIVE (L)
Class 1 Conguration
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with
the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:
e wire which is coloured GREEN & YELLOW (or coloured GREEN) must be connected
to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol .
e wire which is coloured BLUE (or coloured BLACK) must be connected to the NEUTRAL
terminal which is marked with the letter “N”.
e wire which is coloured BROWN (or coloured RED) must be connected to the LIVE
terminal which is marked with the letter “L”.
Always ensure that the Mains Cord is xed into the plug through the Cord Guard or Cable
Clamp, (plug wiring diagram above), and that the Cord Guard screws are tightened to clamp
the cord (outer sheath and inner coloured wires) into position in the plug. Make sure that
the plug top is also tted securely.
is appliance must be protected by a 13Amp fuse in a 13 Amp type (BS1363) plug. Should
you need to replace the fuse, use only a 13Amp ASTA approved BS1362 fuse (13A).
OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES
It is important to ensure the correct Plug Adaptor is used when operating in a country not
using the UK 13 Amp socket system. If in doubt, consult a qualied electrician.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Do not use the appliance for purposes other than its intended use.
When unplugging turn any control to o, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
Do not switch on the cooker if the ceramic pot is empty.
Allow the lid and pot to cool before immersing in water.
Do not use crock pot or lid if cracked or chipped.
e lid and ceramic pot are fragile. Handle them with care.
Do not attempt repairs - the appliance contains no user serviceable parts.
Repair should be done only by authorized personnel or fully qualied electrical engineers.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance corresponds with your house
electricity supply.
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with
this appliance the plug should be removed and the appropriate one tted following the guide
in the electrical section.
IMPORTANT: e plug removed from the mains lead, if severed, must be destroyed as a plug
with bared exible cord is hazardous if engaged into a live socket outlet.
To protect against the risk of electrical shock do not put the base unit in water
or in any other liquid.
Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug or if the appliance has
been dropped or damaged.
To avoid risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the appliance. Incorrect
re-assembly can cause a risk of electric shock when used.
Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot food, water, or other
hot liquids.
Never touch the outer enclosure of the unit during its operation or before it cools.
Use the handles or knobs. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use oven gloves or a cloth when removing
the lid or handling hot containers.
Do not attempt to move the appliance whilst hot.
Do not switch on the appliance when it is upside down or laid on its side.
Never leave the appliance connected to the socket outlet when not in use, before putting on or
taking o attachments, and before cleaning.

CONTROL SETTINGS
Control knob cycles through adjustable
temperatures/functions such as:
O, Warm, Boil, Steam / Slow Cook, Sauté /Grill,Roast
and Deep Fry
e temperature can be set anywhere
between the lowest settings at 60 and
the highest setting for Flash Fry at 190 .
BEFORE USING YOUR APPLIANCE
Before using your MultiChef unit, clean the power base, stackable steam rack, fondue forks, lid
and non-stick heating pan in warm, soapy water with a so cloth and then rinse and dry
thoroughly.
Never submerge the MultiChef unit power base in water. to do so could permanently damage
your MultiChef unit and may cause personal injury
USING YOUR APPLIANCE
Attach non-stick heating pan to power base: Place the non-stick heating pan into the four
holes in the metal plate at the base of the unit.
PLEASE NOTE: During initial use you may notice a slight odour due to the burning o of
manufacturing residues. is is completely normal and will disappear aer a few uses.
During cooking, the indicator light goes on and o. It only stays lit when the appliance is
heating to reach or maintain the correct temperature.
Always remember to turn o the appliance when nished.
WARM
Place the desired liquid or food directly into the non-stick heating pan and close the lid.
Turn the knob to Warm setting. e indicator light will go on.
SLOW COOK
Place the desired liquid or food (depending on recipe instructions) directly into the non-stick
heating pan and close the lid.
Turn the knob to Slow Cook setting. e indicator light will go on.
To retain heat and moisture during cooking, it is best not to li the lid. Always make sure
there is sucient liquid to cover the food.
Always turn your MultiChef unit to OFF and unplug when no longer in use.
SAUTÉ/GRILL
Turn the knob to Sauté/Grill setting. e indicator light will go on.
Add a small amount of cooking oil, butter or margarine to the non-stick heating pan.
When Sautéing or Grilling is complete, remove the food.
Always turn your MultiChef unit to OFF and unplug when no longer in use.
STEAM
Use the stackable steam rack for steaming. Place the stackable steam rack on the non-stick
heating pan.
Add 2 cups of water (keep the water level below the rack) and close the lid.
Turn the knob to Slow Cook setting. e indicator light will go on.
To retain heat and moisture during cooking, it is best not to li the lid.
When steaming is complete, carefully remove the hot stackable steam rack.
Always turn your MultiChef unit to OFF and unplug when no longer in use.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE
ROAST
Place the desired food (depending on recipe instructions) into the non-stick heating pan.
Turn the knob to Roast setting. e indicator light will go on.
When nished roasting, check food to see if it is thoroughly cooked through.
Always turn your MultiChef unit to OFF and unplug when no longer in use.

FLASH FRY(Deep Fat Frying).
Pour oil into the non-stick heating pan up to the ll-line; NEVER go over the ll-line as this may
allow the oil to overow when the food is added which may cause a re or cause injury to the user
or their property.
Turn the knob to Flash Fry setting. e indicator light will go on.
Place food in basket (if purchased) and lower into the oil. Fill the basket no more than indicated
ll-line in the basket.
Place food on dry paper towel to remove the excess oil from the food .
Always turn your MultiChef unit to OFF and unplug when no longer in use.
