INSTRUCTION MANUAL
• It is recommended that this light be installed by a qualied electrician in accordance with current IEE Wiring
RegulationsandBuildingRegulations(PartP).
• Thisproductisonlysuitableforconnectiontoa240v~50Hzsupplyandisforoutdooruse.
• Runsupplywirefroma5-ampelectricalsupplyusingdoubleinsulated2or3-corecableoftypeH05RN-F1.0mm2
(notsupplied)toselectedsite,ensuringitisadequatelyprotectedthroughthefulllengthofthecablerun,itmust
comeoutoftheatsurfaceofthewallinlinewiththeentrytothetting
• ThisttingisaClassIproduct,andmust beconnectedtoEarth.
• Switchoffthemainssupplyandremovetheappropriatefuseorswitchofftheappropriatecircuitbreakerbefore
commencinginstallation.
• Exceptwhereinstalledinaconduitorductwhichprovidesequivalentprotectionagainstmechanicaldamage,
acableburiedinthegroundshallincorporateanearthedarmourormetalsheathorboth,suitableforuseasa
protectiveconductor,orbeofinsulatedconcentricconstruction.Buriedcablesshallbemarkedbycablecoversor
asuitablemarkingtape.Buriedconduitsandductsshallbesuitablyidentied.Buriedcables,conduitsandducts
shallbeatasufcientdepthtoavoidbeingdamagedbyanyreasonablyforeseeabledisturbanceoftheground.
• Iftheglassordiffuserisbrokenorcrackeditmustbereplaced,pleaseconsultyourretailer.Thisisthesymbol
whichdenotesthisrequirement:
• Thisproductmustonlybeinstalledtoasolid,xedsurface,suchasconcrete,deckingorpavingslabs.Itmust
NOTbeinstalledonsoil.
• Donotinstallabulbwithagreaterwattageordifferentshapethanspeciedonthelabel.
• Ifanymodicationismadeitwillinvalidatethewarrantyandmayrendertheproductunsafe.

Before you start
Pleasereadtheseinstructionscarefullybeforettingandretainforreference.Checkthepackagingandmakesure
thatyouhavealltherequiredparts.Followeachassemblystepinordertopreventincorrectassembly.Ensurethat
theproductisfullyassembledasillustratedbeforeuse.Ensurethattherearenocables/pipesbeneaththesurface
(otherthanthesupplycableforthistting).
Themountingsurfacemustbexed,solidandabletoaccommodatetheweight/heightofthetting.Ifinstallingonan
existingsecure(concrete)base,usetheholesinthepostbaseasatemplatetodrillsuitablexingholesandprepare
withsuitablegroundxingbolts(notsupplied).Thesupplycable(atleast250mm)mustcomeoutofthemounting
surfaceanddirectlyintotheterminalblockinthebase/postofthetting.
Makesureallscrews/nuts,includingelectricalconnectionsetcarefullytightenedbeforeuse.
The Light pack contains:
Lighttting.
Terminalconnectionblock(s).
Fixingpack.
The following tools may be required:
Selectionofcrossandatheadscrewdrivers.
Electricdrillandassorteddrillbits.
Wirestrippers.
Electricalinsulationtape.
Care Information
Allow10minutestocoolbeforereplacing,adjustingorcleaning.
ToachievemaximumcorrosionresistancethesurfaceoftheStainlessSteelmustbekeptclean.Surfacecontamination
andtheformationofdeposits,forexamplesalt,arecriticalfactorswhichmayleadtodrasticallyreducedlife.Careful
washingwithsoaporamilddetergentandwarmwaterfollowedbyacleanwaterrinseandnallywipingdryisusually
adequateformostS/Sitemsusedinthedomesticenvironment.Caremustbetakentoturnoffthemainssupplyuntil
thecleaningprocesshasbeencompletedandthettingiscompletelydry.

1. DiagramA.Ensurethere issufcient powercabletoconnectto thetting–werecommendatleast 250mm.
Ensurethatthemountingsurfaceissolidandstable,suchasconcrete.Ifyouareusinganchorbolts(notsupplied)
preparethemountingsurfaceasappropriate(andensurethattherearenoothercablesorpipesbeneaththe
surface).
2. Placethebaseofthelightttingoverthecableanduseitasatemplatetomarkthemountingholepositions.Drill
andplugtheholesreadytomountthettinglater.
3. DiagramB.Pulltheterminalblockassemblyoutofthebaseofthetting.Removethecableclampandtakethe
lidofftheterminalblockhousingtoexposetheinternalterminalblock.
4. Connectthehousewiringtotheterminalblock(3)–seeexpandedwiringdetailsbelow.NOTE: This is a Class
I tting and must be earthed.Anylooseterminalblocks–notsecuredtotheterminalblock–shouldalwaysbe
coveredwith2layersofgoodqualityinsulationtape.
5. Re-ttheterminalblockintoitshousingandsecure–ensuringthatallsealsarecorrectlylocated.
6. Securethecableclampovertheincomingcableandthenpushtheterminalblockassemblyfullyinsideintothe
base/stem.
7. Securetheposttothemountingsurfacemakingsurethatallcablesarecontainedinsidethetting.
8. Unscrewthelidandtthebulb,beingcarefulnottotouchitwithyourbarehands-useaclothorgloves.NOTE:
Never t bulbs of a higher wattage than those specied on the label (as these may cause overheating and
damage the tting).
9. Re-tthelid.Ensuretherubbersealisinplaceforingressprotection.Donotovertighten.Turnonthepowerand
test.
