Assembly and installation only by qualified
specialist personnel
The assembly and installation may be performed
by specialist personnel with the corresponding
qualifications only.
Technical illustrations
The following description illustrates the retrofitting of a
precipitator on a size 1 eHACK boiler (20-45 kW) with
the fuel discharge on the left side.
The illustrations are equally representative for eHACK
boilers of size 2 and if the fuel discharge is located on
the right side.
DANGER!
Electric shock
There are live parts on the circuit boards. If
touched, they can cause injury and
property damage.
Before beginning any work, isolate the system
completely from all power sources, ensure that it
cannot be switched back on, and verify that it is
safely isolated from supply.
Align boiler horizontally
Place a spirit level onto the boiler's panel to check the
horizontal alignment; use shims as needed.

The horizontal alignment of the boiler is important
because the electrode in the precipitator must be
an equal distance away from the inner walls on all
sides.
Installing the sensor for the sliding rake position
Remove the panel from the rear of the boiler.

Mount the additional sensor from the delivery scope in
the hole. The clearance from the plate should be about
2-3 mm.

If the current position of the plate makes it difficult
to adjust the distance, measure the distance from
the shaft to the end of the plate and add an additional
2-3 mm. Then mount the sensor at the correct distance
from the shaft.

Remove the panel on the top
Remove the panel on the top of the boiler.

Dismantle all side panels
Remove the side panels from each side of the boiler on
which the stoker is mounted.

Removing the de-ashing maintenance cover
Remove the maintenance cover for the de-ashing from
the bottom of the boiler.

Installation
Inserting the sliding rake
When the sliding rake is inserted into the boiler, the
alignment of the cam on the bottom must be observed.
This must always be closest to the side of the boiler on
which the conveying system is mounted.

Theslidingrake is already assembled.If the room
height is not sufficient to insert the entire sliding
rake, the rake can be dismantled in the middle. After
insertion, the sliding rake has to be screwed together
again.

Mounting the lever
Mount the lever for operating the cam on the sliding
rake. Install the lever so that it can actuate the cam.

Connect the sliding rake with the de-ashing
Attach the connecting rods of the sliding raketo thede-
ashing levers. For this purpose, use the two special
screws (see illustration).

Installing the isolator
Remove the blind cover from the top of the ash box.

Insert the isolator from the inside and fasten with the
screws.

Mounting the high voltage unit
Mount the support with the high voltage unit on the
boiler.

When threading in, ensure that the insulator is not
damaged. Fasten the support to the boiler using the
long nuts and screws. Only hand tighten the nuts and
screws.

Mounting the discharge electrode
Carefully insert the discharge electrode into the flue
duct so that it is not bent.

Secure the discharge electrode with a washer and
screw.

The electrode must be in the centre of the precipitator,
so that the flue gas can be optimally cleaned.
Therefore, check the clearance of the electrodes to the
inner walls.

With the long nuts on the support of the high-voltage
unit, the alignment of the electrode can be adapted as
required. Once the alignment is correct, tighten the
screws.

Installing the safety switch for the maintenance
cover on top
Install the maintenance cover on top of the flue duct.
Tighten the screws alternately and evenly.

Install the safety switch withthe screws only hand-tight
initially.

To adjust the switch correctly, slide it upwards until it
touches the pin.

Then slide the switch a further 2 - 3 mm towards the
pin, so that the switch is actuated and a "click" is
clearly audible.

Now carefully tighten the fixing screws of the
safety switch. Do not fasten them too tightly,
because otherwise the switch is strained and does not
trigger correctly.
Installing the safety switch for the maintenance
cover of the de-ashing
Install the maintenance cover for the de-ashing on the
bottom. Tighten the screws alternately and evenly.

Thread the safety switch into the holder.

To adjust the switch correctly, slide it towards the
maintenance cover until it touches the maintenance
cover.

Then slide the switch a further 2-3 mm towards the
maintenance cover so that the switch is actuated and
a "click" is clearly audible. Now tighten the adjusting
nuts on the switch.

Installing the cover
Mount the cover over the high voltage unit.

Then attach the sticker with the safety notices to the
cover and the rear panel.

Connect boiler to potential equalisation
The boiler must be connected to the potential equaliza-
tion of the boiler room or the building. Country-specific
regulations must be observed.
