Chapter1IntroducingtheFP8082PanelPC
Overview
The FP8082 is 8.4-inch TFT Panel PC, this panel PC with Intel® Atom™ N270 low-
power CPU module inside and touch screen device, this user’s manual provides
information on the physical features, installation, and BIOS setup of the FP8082.
Built to unleash the total potential of the Intel® Atom™ N270 Processor, Able to
support 1.6 GHz CPU, this system supports one 10/100/1000M Base –TX LAN ports, 1
So-DIMM socket supports up to 2GB DDR2 RAM, PCIe mini card socket for wireless
LAN, six USB2.0 ports, audio and a dual display VGA controller.
Each FP8082 has six ports for I/O communication. One RS232/RS422/RS485 port and
five RS232 ports are available.
The FP8082is perfect for ATM machines, KIOSK, point-of-sales/point-of- information,
gaming and infotainment, measurement technology, lotteries, banking and Thin
Client and small Embedded Control. The unit is only 60mm (D) X250mm (W)
X180mm (H).

PackingList
Upon receiving the package, verify the following things. Should any of the
mentioned happens, contact us for immediate service.
•Unpack and inspect the FP8082 package for possible damage that may
occur during the delivery process.
•Verify the accessories in the package according to the packing list and see
if there is anything missing or incorrect package is included.
•If the cable(s) you use to install the FP8082is not supplied from us, please
make sure the specification of the cable(s) is compatible with the
FP8082system.
Note: After you install the FP8082, it is recommended that you keep the diskette or
CD that contains drivers and document files, and keep the document
copies, or unused cables in the carton for future use.
The following lists the accessories that may be included in your FP8082package.
Some accessories are optional items that are only shipped upon order.
•One FP8082x industrial Panel PC.
•One AC to DC19V power adapter and one AC power code cable.
•One pack of 2.5’ SATA HDD installing with 2 screws
•One pack of panel Mount kit with 4 screws.
•One compact disc includes touch screen driver software.

Chapter2HardwareInstallation
This chapter introduces the system connectors and guides you to apply them for
field application.
BeforeInstallation
Before you install the system, make sure you follow the following descriptions.
1. Before removing the cover, shut down the operation System and disconnect
power switch to off and unplug AC cable.
2. Install or unplug any connector, PCIe mini card, Compact Flash, and hard disk
be sure that the power is disconnected or power switch to off from the system.
If not, this may damage the system.
3. The ESD (Electricity Static Discharge) may be created from human body that
touches the board. It may do damage to the board circuit.
4. When using the screwdriver on screws, before make sure the screws size and
type, if uses the not correct unscrews or screws of system, the screwdriver may
break the screws.

Removing Covers –Installing Hardware
If you are installing hardware option, you can remove the right side or back side
cover. The following figure will guide you how to install Compact Flash modules,
2.5" SATA HDD inside, PCIe mini card module, DDR2-RAM module to the FP8082,
and how to install the FP8082 fixers. (Please see the spots circled.)
a. Unscrew Right Side Cover: Installing Compact
b. Unscrew and Separate the Covers
The following figure will guide you separate the FP8082 covers then installing
hardware devices.
b1. Unscrews the Back Side Cover
Note: The Compact Flash socket supports 3.3V Compact Flash and Micro Drives.

c. Fasten Screws the SATA HDD into the HDD Metal Frame
d. Installing Memory:
You may extend additional memory to FP8082, See as following figure and rear
pictures.The So-DIMM socket supports 1GB to 2GB of DDR2-400/533 RAM modules.
Note: 1. Remove the inverter board before installing hard disk.
2. Use caution when handling the hard disk to prevent damage to SATA
connector as you inserted hard disk. Be careful with the orientation when
installing connectors.

e. Installing PCIe Mini Card
You may extend additional PCIe mini card WLAN module or SIM card to FP8082
by removing the covers. Connect the antenna cable from right side antenna
hole to PCIe Mini card WLAN (the auxiliary board).

Note: 1. When installing PCIe GPRS Mini card on FP8082 system these is need
the installing the SIM Card to system board.
2. Open the cover with SIM socket then insert SIM card into the SIM card
hold. Make sure that the SIM card is properly inserted and that golden
contact area on the card is facing downwards.
