109818 Corner Post Assembly

READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU ASSEMBLE THE CORNER POST.
Thank you for purchasing the universal corner post assembly. When properly assembled and
maintained, this product will provide years of reliable service. These instructions include helpful
hints and important information needed to safely assemble and properly maintain the corner post.
Please read these instructions before you begin. Corner post assembled in this example is for
use with an 10' fence. Adjust dimensions as needed for the height of your fence.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
An assistant is required during assembly.•
Wear eye protection and gloves when handling the metal parts, driving the ground posts, and•
drilling mounting holes.
Verify that no underground pipe, electrical cables, utility service, or communication cables are•
present before you drive the ground posts into the ground.
Contact local building officials to determine applicable codes and other related restrictions•
before you begin.

Complete the following steps to assemble the corner post.
Determine the position of each corner post and mark the site with a stake or flag.1.
Using the measurements in the diagram to the right, measure and drill two (2) 5/16" mounting holes2.
through the bottom of the corner post. Use a center punch to mark the location and to prevent the drill bit
from slipping out of position. Clamp the pipe in a vice or have an assistant hold the opposite end of the
pipe to keep it in position.
These mounting holes must be parallel and in line with each other. These are the mounting holes used to
secure the bottom of each corner post to each ground post.
NOTE: If you purchased a cable to run around the perimeter of the fenced area at the top of the corner
posts, measure 1" down from the top of the corner post and drill a 1/4" hole through the 1.90" pipe.
Once all 1.90" corner posts are prepared, take the 102676 pre-drilled ground posts and drive each into3.
the ground. If a ground post driver was purchased, slide it into the top of the ground post (mounting
hole end) to drive the post. If no driver was purchased, use a small wood block to protect the top of the
post. A 2-3 pound hammer usually works to drive the post. Drive the post until the lower mounting hole
is approximately 2"- 3" above the ground. WEAR EYE PROTECTION AND GLOVES WHEN DRIVING
THE POST!
NOTE: To keep the height of the corner posts equal, drive all ground posts to the same depth. Use a
string line if needed to keep the ground post height uniform. Drive all ground posts so they are plumb
(straight) so all corner post are straight when these are attached. Check the ground post with a level as
you drive it into position.

Once all 102676 ground posts are in place and plumb, take a drilled corner post and slide one (1)4.
105968 90° corner swivel onto the post. Position the set screws of the swivel up and toward the
top of the corner post. Using a 5/16" hex key wrench, temporarily secure the swivel to the corner
post to prevent it from sliding off when you set the post onto the ground post.
With assistance and with the swivel secured to the drilled corner post, slide the post over the5.
top of one ground post, align the mounting holes, and secure the corner post to the ground post
using two (2) 5/16" bolts, washers, and nuts. If the holes do not align to allow the bolt to pass
through, use a drill and drill bit to enlarge as needed.
Measure 24" down from the top of the corner post and mark the location as shown in the photo to6.
the right. This will be the position of the swivel once the remaining pipes are attached.
Take the remaining two (2) 1.90" x 120" plain pipes, slide each into one of the remaining sockets7.

With assistance, hold the swivel and pipe assembly and loosen the main set screw holding8.

Position the diagonal legs of the corner post assembly to the inside to the fenced area.
Slide the assembly until the top of the swivel is aligned with the 24" mark on the post and9.
tighten the set screw. Push the free end of each diagonal pipe into the site to keep in position.
Depending on the site, adjust the height of the swivel as needed to set the diagonal legs into the
ground. Verify that the corner post is straight before you set the diagonal posts into the site.
Repeat the procedures as needed to assembly any remaining corner posts and install the fence.10.
