field busnodeCP−FB11−E. TheCP nodemay only beused as
follows:

in faultless technicalcondition.
Ifadditionalcommercially−available componentssuch assen
sorsand actuatorsareconnected, thespecified limitsfor
pressures, temperatures, electricaldata, torques, etc. must

1.1 General instructions
Warning
Beforecarrying out installation and maintenance work,
switch off thefollowing:
Sthecompressed air supply
Stheoperating voltageon thefield busnode
(pins1and 2)
Stheload voltagesupply on theCP output modules.
You can thereby avoid:
uncontrolled movementsof loose tubing
unexpected movementsof theconnected actuators
non−defined switching states of theelectronic compo
nents.
Caution
Thenodeof theCP system containselectrostatically sensi
tivecomponents.
SDo not thereforetouch any contacts.
SObservetheregulationsfor handling electrostatically
sensitivecomponents.
You will then prevent theelectronics in thenodefrom being
damaged.

1.2 Configuring the CP system
Switches for setting theconfiguration can befound under the
cover on thefield busnode.
Warning
SBeforecommissioning: Makesurethat DIL switch el
ements3and 4 areset tothedesired setting for the
DeviceNet configuration (see chapter 1.2.3).
SDuring operation: Do not modify thesettingsof theDIL
switches during operation.
You will thereby avoid undesired movementsof thecon
nected actuators.

address selector switches. Theswitch positionsarenum
bered from 0to9. Thearrow on theaddress selector switches

Please note
Station numbersmay only beassigned once per module/
scanner.
Recommendation:
Assign thestation numbersin ascending order. Ifnecessary,
assign thefield busaddresses tosuit themachinestructure
of your system.

correspondstothesetting of thefield busmodule/
interface of themaster.
Thereis a DIL switch with four switch elementsunder the
cover on thenode.

1.2.3Setting compatibility (DeviceNet configuration)
Field busnodeFB11 is available since February 2001 in an
updated and improved softwareversion for theDeviceNet.
This current softwareversion offerssomesimplificationsin
configuring and commissioning a CP system on theDevice
Net.
Thecurrent softwareversion is nolonger compatible with
field busnodes with theearlier softwareversion (V1.4). You
can, however, switch thefield busnodetotheearlier software
version and thereby restorecompatibility with theearlier
DeviceNet configuration.
