1 User instructionsEnglish
The axis controller of type CPX-CMAX-C1-1 is intended
exclusively for use in CPX terminals from Festo in conjunc
tion with suitable components. The maximum values
specified in the section “Technical specifications” must be
observed here.
Detailed information on the pneumatic positioning system
with the CMAX can be found in the System Manual for the
CMAX type P.BE-CPX-CMAX-SYS-...
Basic information on the CPX terminal can be found in the
CPX System Manual P.BE-CPX-SYS-...
Warning
SSwitch off the power supply before connecting or
disconnecting plugs (otherwise this could lead to
functional damage).
SUse only power units which guarantee reliable
electrical isolation of the operating voltage as per
IEC/DIN EN 60204-1. Observe also the general
requirements for PELV power circuits as per IEC/DIN
EN 60204-1.
SConnect an earthing cable with sufficient cross-
sectional area to the connection on the CPX terminal
marked with the earth symbol.
SThe CMAX contains electrostatically sensitive
components. Therefore, do not touch any
components. Observe the handling specifications for
electrostatically sensitive components.

3 Installation instructions
3.1 Note on replacing the CMAX module
All project-related parameters are stored in the CMAX
module. Perform commissioning again with the Festo
Configuration Tool; see system manual for the CMAX.

3.2 Mounting
The CMAX is mounted in an interlinking block of the CPX
terminal.

Removing:
SRemove the screws and lift the CMAX carefully.
Mounting:
1. Check the seal and sealing surfaces and refit the
sub-base.
2. Screws must be fitted so that the self-cutting threads
can be used. Tighten the screws by hand in diagonally
opposite sequence. Tightening torque 0.9 … 1.1 Nm.
