5 Intended use
Charger TCL 3 is suitable for
– charging battery packs: Protool BP, Festool BPS
and BPC (NiMH, NiCd, LiIon are recognised auto-
matically.)
– indoor use only.
– do not recharge no-rechargeable batteries.
The user is liable for improper or non-in-
tended use.
6Operation
6.1 Charger cable holder [1-3]
Unwind the cable completely from the recess
before using the charger.
6.2 Changing the battery pack [2]

6.3 Charging the battery pack [3]
If a warm NiMH battery pack (> 37 °C) is inserted,
the pack is charged with a reduced charging cur-
rent and will take longer to charge.
The LED
[1-2]
on the charger indicates the respec-
tive operating status of the charger.
7 Service and maintenance
Observe the following instructions:

er source must correspond with the specifica-
tions on the machine's name plate.
In North America, only Festool machines with
the voltage specifications 120 V/60 Hz may be
used.
LED yellow - lit continuously
Charger is ready to use.
LED green - flashing quickly
Charging battery pack at maxi-
mum rate.
LED green - flashing slowly
Charging battery pack with
reduced current, begins at 90%
battery level.
LED green - lit continuously
Charging process is complete or
will not resume because the cur-
rent battery level is above 90%.
LED red - flashing
General fault indication, e.g.
incomplete contact, short circuit,
defective battery pack, etc.
LED red - lit continuously
Battery temperature is outside
the permitted range.
