Safety and warnings
Your built-in oven has been carefully designed to operate safely during normal cooking
procedures. Please keep the following guidelines in mind when you are using your oven:
WARNING!
Hot Surface Hazard
Accessible parts may become hot when this oven is in use.
To avoid burns and scalds, keep children away.
Do not touch hot surfaces inside the oven.
Use oven mitts or other protection when handling hot surfaces such as oven
shelves or dishes.
Take care when opening the oven door.
Let hot air or steam escape before removing or replacing food.
Failure to follow this advice could result in burns and scalds.
WARNING!
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect the oven from the power supply before any cleaning or
maintenance.
Failure to do so may result in death or electrical shock.

4Safety and warnings
Important safety instructions
Isolating switch: make sure this oven is connected to a circuit which incorporates an isolating
switch providing full disconnection from the power supply.
Household appliances are not intended to be played with by children.
Children, or persons with a disability which limits their ability to use the appliance, should have a
responsible person to instruct them in its use. The instructor should be satisfied that they can use
the appliance without danger to themselves or their surroundings.
Safe food handling: leave food in the oven for as short a time as possible before and after
cooking. This is to avoid contamination by organisms which may cause food poisoning. Take
particular care during warmer weather.
Do not place aluminium foil, dishes, trays, water or ice on the oven floor during cooking as this
will irreversibly damage the enamel.
Do not stand on the door, or place heavy objects on it.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean the oven door glass since
they scratch the surface, which may result in shattering of the glass.
Do not use a steam cleaner to clean any part of the oven.
Caution. Hot air can blow from under the control panel as part of the oven’s cooling system.
Do not keep flammable substances in the oven.
Do not operate your appliance by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
Under unfavourable electrical supply conditions, the appliance may cause temporary voltage
drops.

Using your oven for the rst time
Before using your new oven, please:
1 Read this user guide, taking special note of the ‘Safety and warnings’ section.
2 Remove all accessories and packaging.
3 Set the clock. See ‘Using the control buttons’ for instructions.
4 Condition the oven:
Put in the shelves and trays. If you are not using
the sliding shelf supports, then slide in the shelves
and grill tray as shown in Fig 2. Fit them between
the two wires of a shelf position, with the safety stop
notch down and at the back.
If the shelf supports and catalytic panels are not
already fitted, see ‘Care and cleaning’ for how to do this.
Heat the oven on maximum for:
60 minutes in the position
30 minutes in the position
15 minutes in the position
5 Wipe out the oven with a damp cloth and mild detergent,
and dry thoroughly.
Note: the oven cooling fan comes on automatically at
different stages of the cooking cycle. It blows out warm
air above the door. When the oven is turned off, the
cooling fan may stay on until the oven cools down.

Setting the clock
When first connected, or after a power failure, ‘0:00’ will show on the display.
To set the clock, press the and buttons together and then press the and buttons.
Note: changing the time will delete any automatic program.
Using the timer
You can use the timer at any time, even when the oven is not in use. The timer does not turn the
oven off.
The timer can be set for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes.
To set the timer, press the button, then the and buttons.
To check the remaining time, press the button.
When the time is up, the timer will beep. Press any button (except the button) to turn it off.
Turning the oven on and off
To turn the oven on, press the button. ‘On’ appears for two seconds on the display, the oven
lamp lights up, and then the time appears on the display. You can now use your oven.
If you do not use your oven within three minutes, it automatically goes back to stand-by. ‘OFF’
appears for some seconds on the display, the oven lamp goes off, and then the time appears on
the display.
To turn the oven off, press the button.
Note: do not turn the oven off if you have set it for automatic cooking.
Childlock
In Childlock you can only turn the oven off, use the timer, and check the remaining cooking time
or the end of the cooking time. You can set Childlock during cooking.
To set the Childlock, press the button for about five seconds. The display shows ‘n--O’, ‘On’ and
then the time appears again.
To release the Childlock, press the button for about five seconds. The display shows ‘n--O’,
‘OFF’ and then the time appears again.

Selecting the temperature
Temperature control buttons
Press the button to increase the oven temperature.
Press the button to decrease the oven temperature.
" " (Celsius degrees) symbol
When the symbol is flashing the oven is preheating.
When the symbol is permanently lit the oven is at the set temperature.
Cooking temperature
All cooking functions start to operate with a pre-set
temperature which can be modified, at any time,
pressing the temperature control buttons.
“ o“ (Celsius degrees) symbol
When the symbol is flashing, the oven is preheating.
When the symbol is steadily lit, the oven is at the set temperature.
Cooking temperature
All cooking functions start to operate with a pre-set
temperature. You can modify this at any time by pressing
the temperature control buttons.
Temperature buttons
Press the button to increase the oven temperature.
Press the button to decrease the oven temperature.

10 Oven functions
OVEN LAMP
Only the oven light comes on. It remains on in all the functions.
BAKE
The upper and lower heating elements come on. BAKE is the traditional method of cooking. It is
best to cook on only one shelf at a time in this function.
PASTRY ASSIST
The lower heating element and the fan come on. Use this function to cook food that requires a
higher temperature at the bottom than the top.
GRILL
The grill at the top of the oven comes on. Preheat for five minutes. Use with the oven door
closed and the temperature knob between 50 °C and 225 °C max. Do not grill for longer than 30
minutes at any one time. For best results, use the topmost shelf position when you want quick
browning (eg toast).
TURBO GRILL
Both the grill and the upper heating element come on, for intense grilling over the whole width
of the oven. Preheat for five minutes. Use with the oven door closed and the temperature knob
between 50 °C and 225 °C max. Do not grill for longer than 30 minutes at any one time. For best
results, use the topmost shelf position when you want quick browning (eg toast).
FAN GRILL
Both the grill and the fan come on. Use with the oven door closed and the temperature knob
between 50 °C and 225 °C max.
FAN FORCED WITH LOWER HEAT
The lower heating element, the circular heating element, and the fan come on.
FAN FORCED
The circular heating element and the fan come on. The oven set on FAN FORCED can cook
several different foods together. Use FAN FORCED for multi-shelf cooking.
FAN BAKE
The upper and lower heating elements and the fan come on.

DEFROST/WARM
The lower heating element and the fan come on.
To defrost food, use at the preset temperature only (‘dEF’).
To keep hot food warm,, change the preset temperature to between 75
O
C and 100
O
C.
Note: this function is not for cooking or reheating food from cold, as it will not bring cold
food up to a temperature high enough to kill any harmful bacteria. Use a cooking function for
reheating food.
Important!
Safe food handling: leave food in the oven for as short a time as possible before and after cooking or
defrosting. This is to avoid contamination by organisms which may cause food poisoning. Take particular
care during warmer weather.
Notes on baking:
Preheat the oven before baking.
Do not place anything, including water, ice or aluminium foil on the oven floor.
Remove the fat filter before baking.
Using the fat filter
Use the fat filter only when roasting meat and poultry on Fan Bake, Fan Grill or
Fan Forced. It helps to keep your oven clean and reduces splatter and smoking.
Clean the fat filter after every use. See ‘Care and cleaning’.
Remove the fat filter before baking: gripping the top flap, slide up to unhook it from the rear
panel.
To replace the fat filter: align with the circle in the rear panel, then slide down to hook into place.
Important!
If the fat filter is not cleaned after every use, the grease build-up will block and shorten the life of the fan
element.

12 Manual and automatic cooking
Using the oven manually
To use the oven manually, turn it on, and then select the function and temperature.
The oven will start to operate about four seconds after your last selection.
If ‘A’ is shown on the display, then you need to cancel the preset automatic cooking. To do this,
press the and buttons together.
Note: you can only use the oven manually for up to 10 hours. After that, it switches off
automatically.
Using the oven automatically
Use automatic cooking to automatically turn the oven on, cook, and then turn the oven off.
1 Check the clock shows the correct time.
2 Select the function and temperature. The oven will come on.
3 Decide how long the food will take to cook, allowing time for preheating if necessary.
4 Press the button. 0.00 will show. Using the buttons, set the cooking time.
5 Select the time you would like the oven to turn off by pressing the button, and then using
the buttons.
If there is time to wait before cooking starts, the current time of day and A will show in the clock
display. The oven temperature and function lights will remain on, but the oven will switch off
and is now set for automatic cooking. Note: the cooling fan may remain on.
If you are already at home to turn the oven on and only want the oven to turn off automatically,
start cooking as normal, then follow step 4 or step 5 to set a time to stop the oven.
When automatic cooking starts, Awill be displayed and the oven will turn on.
To see the remaining cook time, press the button.
To see the set stop time, press the button.
To cancel automatic cooking at any time, turn the oven off or to continue cooking, press the
and buttons together.
When the stop time is reached, the oven will turn off, the timer will beep and Awill flash.
Press any button to stop the beeping and return the oven to manual mode.
Press the button to turn the oven off.
Important!

Please note:
The settings in the following charts are guidelines only. Follow the instructions in your recipe or
on packaging and be prepared to adjust the oven settings and baking times to achieve the best
possible results for you.
Shelf positions are counted from the oven floor up (1 is the lowest, 6 the highest).
Arrange oven shelves before you turn the oven on, then preheat the oven to the required
temperature (until the degrees Celsius symbol stops flashing).
Settings in bold indicate the recommended oven function.
The shelf positions recommended below use the flat oven shelf (not the step-down shelf) used
either with or without sliding shelf supports.

Care and cleaning
Important!
Always disconnect the oven from the power supply before any cleaning or maintenance.
When you turn the power back on after cleaning, you will have to set the clock.
Do not use abrasive cleaners, cloths or pads to clean any part of your oven. Some nylon scourers
may also scratch. Check the label.
See the following pages for instructions on removing and refitting different parts of the oven for
cleaning.
Before cleaning, make sure the oven is a safe temperature to touch.
Do not use a steam cleaner.

Avoid leaving alkaline or acidic
substances (such as lemon juice,
vinegar or salty spills) on the oven
surfaces.
Do not use cleaning products with
a chlorine or acidic base.
Stainless steel
surfaces
1 Wipe the soiling off with a
cloth using a mild household
detergent or stainless steel
cleaner.
2 Wipe the surface dry.
3 Use a suitable stainless steel
polish.
Immediately wipe off any caustic
cleaners if they are spilled onto
the oven door handle or the knobs.
Glass surfaces Wipe with a damp cloth or use a
glass cleaner.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners
or sharp metal scrapers since they
scratch the surface and may result
in the glass shattering.
Oven cavity
(enamel)
1 Remove everything from the
oven: all shelves and trays, the
side racks, the catalytic panels
and fat filter.
2 Remove the oven door (see
instructions on following
pages).
3 Wipe the inside of the oven
using a household detergent
or an ammonia-based cleaner.
4 Wipe clean with a damp cloth
and allow to dry completely.
To make cleaning the oven ceiling
easier, the grill element in some
ovens can be lowered.
See Fig. 8.
If using ‘off the shelf’ oven
cleaners, always follow the
manufacturer’s instructions.
Side racks, oven
shelves, trays
Clean these using a solution of
detergent and hot water. They
are also dishwasher safe.
If badly soiled, soak in a solution
of hot water and biological
clothes washing powder to
make cleaning easier.

Side catalytic
panels
If you roast or grill a lot of meat
and hardly ever bake, heating
an empty oven for 60-90 mins
at 250oC on
Bake
from time
to time will help the panels to
break down any greasy soiling.
To remove large food particles:
gently wash the panels in warm
soapy water. Rinse in clean
water and allow to dry naturally.
If the panels become
oversaturated, they will appear
shiny and their ability to‘self-
clean’ will be reduced. In this
event, they can be reversed.
These panels are normally ‘self-
cleaning’ because their special
enamel breaks down greasy
splatters when the oven is used for
‘non-greasy’ baking, especially at
high temperatures.
Never use scourers, brushes,
abrasives or cleaners with acid
or alkali content on the catalytic
panels.
Sliding shelf
supports
Wipe with a damp cloth and mild
detergent. Do not wipe off or wash
away the white lubricating grease
(visible when the slides are
extended).
Do not wash these in the dishwasher,
immerse in soapy water, or use oven
cleaner on them as doing so will
remove the white lubricating grease
and prevent the slides from running
smoothly.
Fat filter If lightly soiled: wash in
dishwasher (normal cycle).
If heavily soiled:
1 Place under water in a pan.
2 Add two tablespoons of clothes
washing powder.
3 Bring to the boil.
4 Leave to soak for 30 minutes.
5 Rinse in clean water and dry.
Clean after every use. If the filter is not
cleaned, the grease build-up will block
and shorten the life of the fan element.
Rubber seal framing
the oven cavity
Wipe very gently with a damp cloth
and mild detergent.
Take care not to unhook and
displace the rubber seal while
cleaning it.
Take care not to spray any oven
cleaner or other caustic cleaner on
the rubber seal, as doing so may
damage the rubber.

Care and cleaning
Removing and refitting the side racks and catalytic panels
To remove a side rack and catalytic panel

For easier access to the fixing screws, we recommend removing the oven door first. See
‘Removing and refitting the oven door.’
2 Using a small coin or a flat-head screwdriver, loosen and remove the front and back fixing screws,
as shown.
3 Remove the side rack.
Once you have removed a side rack, the catalytic panel behind it will also be released.
Important!
In some models, the back of the oven is also a catalytic panel, but this is not reversible and should not be
removed.
To refit a side rack and catalytic panel

Align a panel with the fixing screw holes and hold it in place, making sure that:
the arrow on the panel is pointing up
the panel with the hole will be on the left oven wall (to fit around the lamp)
2 Loosely screw in the the back fixing screw.
3 Position the side rack, making sure it is the right way up, as shown.
4 Loosely screw in the front fixing screw.
5 Check that both fixing screws are straight, then tighten them.
6 If you removed the door, refit it.

18 Care and cleaning
Drop-down grill element (some models only)
To lower the grill element: use a flat-head screwdriver or a small coin to loosen the element
fixing screw.
When you have finished cleaning the oven ceiling, raise the grill element and screw the element
fixing screw back onto the stud. Make sure that the fixing screw is tightened and the element is
held securely in place.
The grill element itself is self-cleaning.
