Alphabet Nest-a-mals™
Helpful Hint: For longer battery life, we
recommend use of alkaline batteries.
• Fit the tabs on the battery compart-
ment cover into the slots in the base
and close the cover.
• Tighten the screw with a Phillips
screwdriver. Do not over-tighten.
Battery Tips
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batter-
ies: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc)
or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
• Remove the batteries during long
periods of non-use. Always remove
exhausted batteries from the toy.
Battery leakage and corrosion
can cause damage. Dispose of
batteries safely.
• Never short circuit the battery
terminals.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not
to be recharged.
• Only batteries of the same or equiv-
alent type as recommended in the
“Battery Replacement” instructions
are to be used.
• If removable rechargeable batteries
are used, they are only to be
charged under adult supervision.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be
removed from the toy before they
are charged.
• If you use a battery charger, it should
be examined regularly for damage
to the cord, plug, enclosure and
other parts. Do not use a damaged
battery charger until it has been
properly repaired.
• If sound or lights from this toy
become faint or stop working, it’s
time to replace the batteries!
Battery Replacement
For best performance, we recommend
you replace the batteries that came
with this toy with three, new alkaline
batteries upon purchase.
• Locate the battery compartment on
the underside of the base.
• Loosen the screw in the battery
compartment cover using a Phillips
screwdriver and lift to remove the
cover. (The screw will remain in
the cover.)
• Remove the exhausted batteries.
Dispose of used batteries safely.
• Insert three, new AA (LR6) alkaline
batteries as indicated inside the
battery compartment.

Let’s Play and Learn!
• Alphabet Nest-a-mals™
has two different play
modes to introduce baby
to animal names and
sounds, and first letters!
Slide the mode switch
to the left for letters
( ). Slide the mode
switch to the right for
animals ( ).
• Turn Alphabet Nest-a-mals™ ON by sliding the
mode switch to Letters ( ) or to Animals
().
• In the Letters mode, nest the cups on the base
to hear the letter shown on the nesting cup,
followed by the name of the animal pictured
on the cup.
• In the Animals mode, nest the cups on the
base to hear the name of the animal pictured
on the nesting cup, followed by the sound
the animal makes.
• In either mode, watch the stars light
and twinkle each time you place a
nesting cup on the base.
• The cups can be nested or stacked
on or apart from the base!
• Hear a fun circus tune play and
watch the stars light and twinkle
whenever the roly-poly base is
rocked from side-to-side!
• To extend the life of your batteries,
always remember to turn the
mode switch to the OFF position
(•) after play.
