For best performance, we recommend you replace
the batteries that came with this toy with three, new
alkaline batteries upon purchase.
• Locate the battery compartment on the underside
of the toy.
• Loosen the screw in the battery compartment cover
using a Phillips screwdriver and lift to remove the
cover. (The screw will remain in the cover.)
• Remove the exhausted batteries from the toy.
Dispose of the used batteries safely.
• Insert three, new AA (LR6) alkaline batteries as indi-
cated inside the battery compartment.
Helpful Hint: For longer battery life, we recommend
use of alkaline batteries.
• Fit the tab on the battery compartment cover into
the slot in the base and close the cover.
• Tighten the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
Do not over-tighten.

• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix different types of batteries:
alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable
(nickel-cadmium).
• Remove the batteries during long periods of
non-use. Always remove exhausted batteries
from the toy. Battery leakage and corrosion can
cause damage. Dispose of batteries safely.
• Never short circuit the battery terminals.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be
recharged.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as
recommended in the “Battery Replacement”
instructions are to be used.
• If removable rechargeable batteries are used, they
are only to be charged under adult supervision.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the
toy before they are charged.
• If you use a battery charger, it should be examined
regularly for damage to the cord, plug, enclosure
and other parts. Do not use a damaged battery
charger until it has been properly repaired.
• If sound or lights from this toy become faint or
stop working, it’s time to replace the batteries!

Mode Switch
Volume Switch
• Cookie Shape Surprise™has two different
play modes to help baby learn to identify shapes
and numbers! Slide the mode switch to the left
for shapes ( ). Slide the mode
• Turn Cookie Shape Surprise™ON
by sliding the mode switch to Shapes
( ) or to Numbers ( ).
• Fit a shape through the opening in
the side of Cookie Shape Surprise™
to hear the name of the shape (Shapes
mode) or to hear the number on the
shape (Numbers mode), followed
by a funny sound or saying.
• Press the nose at any time
for lights and sounds!

• Locate the volume switch on the underside of
the toy. Select low volume or high
volume .

• To clean, wipe all parts with a damp cloth. Never
immerse this toy.

• Take the lid off and reach inside for a big surprise!
Each time you put your hand in the cookie jar,
you’ll hear part of a musical tune and see the
nose blink.
Important Note: After a couple of minutes without
activation, the sensor on the inside of the rim will
enter a sleep-mode and Cookie Shape Surprise™
will not react when you reach inside. To reactivate
the sensor, pass a shape through the side of Cookie
Shape Surprise™, press the nose, or reposition the
mode switch.
• To extend the life of your batteries, always
remember to turn the mode switch to the
OFF position ( ) after play.
