Screening Vibration Sensor System – Getting started
Dear Customer,
Welcome to the world of Wireless Vibration Screening using state-of-the-art wireless
communication technology. The wireless vibration screening solution comprises
batteryless wireless sensors, gateways, a web application LIVE-Asset™ Portal, and an
expandable cloud-based data platform Accelix™. This Connected Reliability system
utilizes Fluke and Pruftechnik technology along with the Everactive Edge capability,
to continuously stream asset health data, using only tiny amounts of harvested
energy.

Introduction
Chapter 1: Introduction
Getting started
Steps to get started with the Screening Vibration Sensor System:
1. Confirm receipt of login information from Fluke — to be able to configure assets
and use the system, a user account is required. This account is set up by the Fluke
Customer Success Manager (CSM) then sent to the user.
2. Unpack the package — the items in the box include
3562 Screening Vibration Sensors, 3504 Wireless Gateway, LTE Wand, Gateway
antenna, Gateway power cord, Outlet adapter pack, Thermo-electric generator
(TEG) harvesters, USB-C 3.1 MTS cables and this guide.
3. Log on, set up assets for the configuration of sensors and gateways — use
LIVE-Asset™ Portal, the web application to create and manage assets, and to
configure sensors. Use the software to:
Monitor the condition of assets in different locations
Receive and evaluate measurement data from the sensor
Refer to the software online help for information on how to create, edit and
manage assets, configuration, measurement and evaluation of readings.
4. Position sensors, harvesters and gateways — use the magnetic bases to position
sensors and harvesters readily; optimal temperature difference required to
generate sufficient power for the sensors. Position gateway temporarily until data
transmission is confirmed.
5. Monitor data — takes place on the LIVE-Asset™ Portal
6. Permanent installation of gateway, sensors and harvesters — once data is
confirmed, install gateway permanently, and use epoxy to mount sensors and
harvesters permanently.

Inspect the delivered goods for defects or missing parts. If the delivery is incomplete
or has defective parts, mark the respective components on the freight dockets and
contact the shipping company or local Fluke sales partner.

Log on Account
Chapter 2: Log on account, then set up assets for
configuration
1. Access the LIVE-Asset™ Portal web page by going to: https://portal.live-asset.com
or scan this QR code.
2. Enter login information received from Fluke CSM then click Login to set up assets
in LIVE-Asset™ Portal.
Set up assets
Start the application then define the required test points for the assets. To define the
test points:
Create Location/Group (e.g. company; location of plant; site or facility)
Create Sublocation/Subgroup (if required)
Create Asset (machinery)
Enter Asset Details
Define Components
Define Test points (preferably bearing location)
Define Tasks and Alarms
Define Device Settings

1. To set up the asset from the application, click the Configuration icon (1) to
access the Configuration module. This is the module where assets are set up.
Alternatively, click Add Assets in the page area.
2. Click Edit (2) to create an Asset hierarchy.
Detailed information about configuration is in LIVE-Asset™ Portal online help.
Click (3)to access the software help at any time
NOTE: Edit tab toggles to Complete tab
Click Add Group then edit the location name.
If required, click Add SubGroup then edit the name of the sublocation.

Set up Assets
In the example, the location is ACME and the sublocation is Drainage.
3. Click Add Asset.
The Asset name is edited in Asset Details Editor. Asset speed, power, ID and
type of foundation may also be edited here.
NOTE: The asset power and mounting foundation are required if the user
wants to apply the recommended alarm limits.
4. Use Components Editor to define the asset components.
Use the drop-down menus to define driver and driven components.

5. In Test Points Editor, click Add test point.
Click the 3562 Screening Vibration Sensor Select tab.
Edit test point name
Define test point position
Define sensor orientation at the test point
Click Assign Sensor to assign a sensor to the test point
Click to refer to the online help for detailed information.
6. Use Tasks and Alarms Editor to configure the process parameters and vibration
overalls to be measured, and the alarm limits to be set. Recommended alarm
limits based on verified ISO standards and experience may be applied. Click
for details.

The Screening Vibration Sensor System is used only for vibrations measurements
on diverse assets. Do not subject the system components to mechanical impact. No
liability will be assumed when components or operating procedures as described in
this manual are altered without permission of the manufacturer.

WARNING
The WARNING symbol denotes information
which must be followed in order to avoid
personal injury.
NOTE NOTE denotes information which must be
followed in order to avoid damage to equipment.
The Electrical hazard symbol is used to identify
electrical hazard and high voltage areas.
Other symbols
Denotes that any waste electrical and electronics
parts of the system including memory sticks
must be disposed of according to applicable
safety and environmental regulations.
Denotes that the product is made of parts that
are recyclable.

Carefully read all instructions.
Use the system only as specified, or the protection supplied by the system
can be compromised.
Do not use the system if it operates incorrectly.
Use only specified replacement parts.
Have an authorized Fluke service centre repair the system.
The system must never be used in wet environments.
Residual risks and safety measures
If installed and operated according to the instructions,
Screening Vibration Sensor System is safe. In the event of incorrect operation or use,
these damages might occur:
yPersonal injury
yDamage to the system components or to the assets
yInterrupted wireless communication (poor transmission and/or reception)
WARNING
Risk of injury from falling parts.
When a gateway is installed at great height, there is a risk that the gateway or a
working tool might fall to the ground and causing injury.
Cordon off the area immediately below the installation site to prevent access
to the danger area.
Secure tools using holsters, clips, lanyards or other tethering aids.
WARNING
Risk of injury from electric shock.
Although the gateway power supply may be PoE (Power over Ethernet) or a 12 V DC /
24 V DC input the neighbouring circuitry could be of a high voltage ( 110 V AC / 220
V AC) and therefore risky.
The electrical connection must be established by a qualified electrician.
The mains voltage must conform to the IEC guidelines.
WARNING
Risk of injury from contact with hot parts.
When the body comes to contact with hot machine parts, burns can occur.
Use applicable protective clothing and gloves.

Power Sensor
Before commencing with physical positioning of components
yObey all applicable statutory regulations.
yExamine and find locations to mount sensors, TEG harvesters and gateways.
NOTE: The mounting positions will be determined by the infrastructure within
the plant where the components are to be installed. In most instances, assets are
permanently fixed and only the components can be moved around.
Chapter 4: Connect sensor to harvester then position
Connect sensor to harvester
1. Use the provided USB-C style custom cable and connect a sensor to a TEG
harvester.
NOTE: A TEG harvester may be augmented with one or more harvesters. This
could be either a TEG or a Photovoltaic (PV) harvester.
When TEG harvesters are daisy-chained, only the straight-through USB C end
must be connected to the TEG harvesters.

Mount sensor and harvester
1. Position the sensor on the desired location on the asset to be monitored. Select
a location where the sensor cannot fall over. The magnetic base of the sensor
allows easy attachment to magnetic surfaces.
NOTE: Sensors are mounted on the bearing housing. Mount the sensors on the
top or at the side or at the end of the bearing casing.
Use the next images as a guide to sensor orientation on the asset.
2. Position the TEG harvester on a location where heat is present. The base of the
harvester is magnetic and has additional feet and tabs to fasten the harvester
at the heat source. The fins of the harvester must be in the direction of airflow
across the asset so as to maximize heat dissipation. A temperature differential
between the source of heat and the ambient temperature must be at least 8°C (or
15°F).
NOTE: Both the sensor and the harvester may be epoxied to the contact surfaces.
Do not epoxy the components before data is seen in LIVE-Asset™ Portal.
3. If necessary, augment the power to the sensor using the optional PV harvester
which has a magnetic base and a USB-C interface. The closer the PV harvester to
a light source, the better the performance. If required, epoxy the PV harvester to
the attachment surface after data is seen.

Mount Components
When properly powered, the "wake-up" light at the top of the sensor flashes red
once every 60 seconds.
Chapter 5: Assemble and position gateway
1. Supplied gateway parts include: the gateway in a rugged housing; an antenna for
machine health monitoring; a WiFi antenna for connection to the internet; an LTE
antenna for connection to the internet; power cords
2. Screw on the antennas to the gateway: (1) Evernet (sensor to gateway); (2) WiFi
(backhaul); (3) LTE (backhaul)
3. Identify location to mount the gateway. The location must be exposed and with a
guaranteed source of power, and must not interfere with plant operation.
NOTE: Do not mount the gateway permanently before data is monitored in
LIVE-Asset™ Portal.
4. Power the gateway. Use the mains supply or the 12 V DC / 24 V DC adapter or
Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Mount Components
The base of the sensor can be screwed down or epoxied on the asset. Use the screw
option only if the asset has a screw mount on it, or sufficient metal thickness for safe
drilling. The TEG harvester can be epoxied.
Apply epoxy on the areas shown.
Use the tabs to mount the gateways at an exposed position with a guaranteed source
of power. Gateways can be mounted with a maximum distance of 250 m / 800 ft.
(non-line-of-sight) from the sensors. Do not point the gateway antenna toward the
sensors. Mounted gateways must not in any way interfere with plant operation.
