Thank you for choosing one of our gas radiators. Please read these instructions carefully. This handbook contains
instructions for the fitter and user on how to install, use and service these appliances.

This instruction handbook is an
integral and essential part of the
supply.
If the radiator is sold or changes
hands or if the owner moves and
leaves it behind, this handbook
must always accompany the
radiator so that it can be consulted
by the new owner and/or installer.
All references in this handbook
to laws, standards or regulations
are merely made for information
purposes and are limited to the
date of publication.
This radiator must only be used
for the purpose for which it was
designed.
The manufacturer cannot be held
liable, whether under this contract
or not, for damage or injury caused
by wrong installation, regulation
or maintenance or by misuse.
The manufacturer cannot be
held liable for damage or injury
resulting from any hazard known
to the user but for which no
suitable safety measures were
adopted.
After unwrapping the radiator,
check that everything is complete
and in good condition. In case of
doubt, do not use the radiator and
contact the supplier.
The packaging (cardboard
boxes, staples, plastic bags, foam
polystyrene, etc.) must not be left
within the reach of children as
they can cause a hazard.
The radiator must be installed
by a professionally qualified
person in compliance with legal
requirements and following the
manufacturer’s instructions.
A professionally qualified person
means anyone having specific
technical skills in the area of
component parts for domestic
heating systems and being
qualified under the current
regulations.
For the radiator to work correctly
and efficiently,
by a properly qualified
service engineer.
Original parts must always be used
for all repairs to the radiator.
If the radiator is not used for a
certain length of time, switch off
the electricity and gas supply.
If the radiator malfunctions or is
faulty, switch it off but do not
attempt to repair it yourself;
contact a qualified service
engineer.

Switch to position I to power on the radiator.
Used to switch the radiator on and off automatically at the set times
(see 1.3.4).
Used toset the desired room temperature.
The range that can be selected is from 5°C (position 0) to 35°C
(position 4).
Turn the knob fully anti-clockwise to activate the anti-frost mode,
whereby the radiator only comes on if the room temperature drops
below 5°C).
This light shows when the radiator is powered on.
This comes on when the radiator is on minimum power. Power
selection is an automatic function designed to reduce consumption.
When it binks it indicates an ambient probe fault.
This comes on together with light E when the radiator is on maximum
power.
When it blinks it indicates a fault of the exchanger probe (5000 and
7000 models only).
This light flashes when there is a malfunction.
This comes on when the temperature exceeds the maximum value
allowed.
If the radiator switches off due to a malfunction, press to reset and
resume operation (see 1.3.2).
If the radiator locks out again (both red lights on), do not reattempt to
start it up. Contact a Service Centre for assistance.

On the left-hand side of the boiler there
is a pull-out plastic container used as a
humidifier.
If the air in the room is particularly dry,
pull out the container, fill it with water
and replace it (see fig. 2).
• Turn on the gas cock.
• Press Ion the on/off main switch Aand
the green power light D(green) will come
on.
• Select automatic or manual mode on
the white control on the timer clock (see
1.3.4).
• With automatic mode, set the timer
clock using the red pins.
• Set the required room temperature on
by operating the temperature regulator
C(see 1.3.3).
When the room temperature drops
below the set value, the machine starts
the automatic ignition sequence and the
burner ignites after about 10 seconds.
When the burner is on full power, the
green lights Eand Fcome on. When the
burner is on minimum power only light
Eis on.
Power selection is automatic.
fter a long period of inactivity,
particularly with LPG models, the radiator
may be difficult to start up due to air in
the pipes. This means that the radiator
may shut down once. or twice, in which
case it is necessary to press the reset
button Lto restart.
If a malfunction occurs, the radiator shuts
down automatically.
This is indicated by two alarm signals:
• Check that the gas cock is on, then
switch on a gas ring to check the gas
supply.
• Wait three minutes, then reset the
radiator by pressing the reset button L.
If the radiator still does not start up after
the second attempt, contact a Service
Centre for assistance.
Always check that the grilles and the
air- intake and flue terminal are free from
obstructions such as foreign bodies,
material or the like. Also make sure that
the radiator is not covered by a curtain or
anything else preventing air circulation

With this type of shutdown, which
is generated by a malfunction of the
electrical part, press button Ato switch
off and contact a technical Service Centre.
If this shutdown occurs due to an electric
fault, turn switch Aoff and contact the
Technical Service.
This radiator comes with a temperature
probe that measures the temperature in
the room of installation.
The desired temperature can be selected
by turning knob C.
The range that can be selected is from
5°C (postion 0) to 35°C (position 4).
Turn fully anti-clockwise to activate
the frost protection function, which
restarts the radiator whenever the room
temperature drops below 5°C.
It is possible to connect the device
to an ambient thermostat (or timed
thermostat) able to directly control the
operation (see paragraph 3.4 for the
electric connection).
In this case, for a correct device operation
it is necessary to turn knob Cto position
4. In case of a timed thermostat it is
necessary to place the programming
clock on the machine in the manual
operation position I(par. 1.3.4, fig. 5).

The clock on the timer is used to
program the radiator to come on and off
automatically at set times.The timer clock
can be programmed on three different
modes:
• intermediate – indicated by the symbol
for automatic timer-controlled
operation (fig. 4);
• position Ifor manual operation,
bypassing the timer clock (fig. 5);
• position 0with the main burner always
off (fig. 6).
Set the clock to the correct time, having
care to match the value corresponding
to the hour with the white arrow
. The
hands on the centre dial will show the
same time. Check that the clock switch is
positioned on (fig. 4).
Move the red segments (pins) towards
the outside of the dial to the periods you
wish the radiator to come on.
On the , four pins
correspond to one hour, which means that
the start/stop times can be programmed
at a minimum interval of 15 minutes.
On the , twelve pins
correspond to one day, which means that
the start/stop times can be programmed
at a minimum interval of 2 hours.
The timer clock is always running when
the radiator is powered on. When
electricity is not supplied the day timer
clock stops while the week timer clock
has a backup charge.
• Never cover the grilles with anything
such as newspapers or cloths.
• If there are curtains along the wall
where the radiator is fitted, comply with
the following:
- moving curtain: before switching on
the radiator pull the curtain about 30 cm
away from it;
- fixed curtain: the lower edge must be at
least 30 cm from the radiator;
This is to avoid getting
burnt.
• If the room is used by unsupervised
children or anyone who is disabled, it is
advisable to install additional protection,
such as an ornamental grille, to prevent
contact with the air outlets.
• When the radiator is not going to be
used for a long time, switch it off, turn off
the gas cock and disconnect it from the
power mains.
Ordinary maintenance includes cleaning
the cover and the grilles using specific
furniture products or a cloth soaked in
alcohol.
Once a year, before the winter season,
have the radiator checked and cleaned
inside by qualified personnel.

The GAZELLE TECHNO CLASSIC is
an individual gas radiator with a room-
sealed combustion chamber and forced
draft. It uses an atmospheric burner and
comes in three versions with different
capacities:
GAZELLE TECHNO CLASSIC 3000
2.8 kW output
GAZELLE TECHNO CLASSIC 5000
4.6 kW output
GAZELLE TECHNO CLASSIC 7000
6.2 kW output
The GAZELLE TECHNO CLASSIC radiator
meets the basic requirements of the
following EC Product Directives:
- Gas Directive 2009/142/EC;
- EMC Directive 89/336/EC dated 3rd May
1989, amended by Directive 92/31/EC of
28th April 1992;
- Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC dated
12th December 2006.
It is also fitted with all the safety devices
in accordance with current product
standards, particularly the following:

This part of the manual contains
installation instructions for gas radiators.
It is for use by qualified fitters, the only
persons authorised to install gas radiators
professionally as prescribed by the current
regulations.
Before installing the radiator, check that
the technical data correspond to the
specifications for the system. The type of
gas to be used and the supply pressure
are shown on the data label affixed to the
radiator.
The Gazelle Techno gas radiator can
generally be installed anywhere in the
room to be heated. Please check laws and
regulations for local restrictions.
The radiator comes with straight pipes
measuring 59 cm long, which can be used
whenever it is installed on external walls.
These pipes can be replaced with pipes of
up to 1 m long if required.
It is also possible to install the radiator
on internal walls, using outlet solutions
that involve bends and longer pipes as
illustrated (examples in paragraph 3.2.2).
During installation of the flue gas system, it
is important to comply with the minimum
distances in accordance with the current
laws and regulations of the country in
question.
Gas radiators are room-sealed appliances,
defined by the current European
regulations as “type C”.
• The package in which the gas radiator is
delivered contains a wall-mounting paper
template. Place it on the wall and drill
the holes as indicated, keeping to the
minimum distance from the ground (see
fig. 7).
• Remove the foam polystyrene protection
and remove the painted casing, taking
care not to damage it. To do this, remove
the two screws, one on either side at
the bottom. Remember to replace them
afterwards.
Use the specific hexagonal spanner
provided (see the picture below).
• Measure the thickness of the wall and
cut off the pipes to that length plus about
5 cm;
Fit the gaskets D on the pipes A and
insert the pipes in the stub pipes Con the
radiator using some lubricant compound
(figs. 9 and 10).
Install diaphragm Eof the size shown in
the table of technical data on the terminal
end of the air-intake pipe (fig. 11).
• Fix the radiator onto the wall using the
screws and inserts provided.
• Fix the air intake and flue gas terminal
to the wall using the screws provided.
It is advisable not to embed the pipe
in concrete to allow the radiator to be
removed at a later stage.

The air intake and outlet pipes of Gazelle
Techno Classic radiators can be fitted
with extensions and elbows.
This allows a wide variety of solutions
when direct outlets are impossible.
Figs. 13 A/B/C/D show some sample
applications:
In order to extend the air intake / flue
gas pipes, the Manufacturer can supply
a split-pipe adaptor KIT fitted with a
supporting bracket.
Alternatively, air intake / flue gas pipes
can also be installed directly to the gas
radiator.
In this case please follow this procedure:
• Mount gasket Don adaptor F (fig. 14).
• Fit adaptor Finto stub pipe C(fig. 9) and
fix it to the base of the appliance using
the screw Yprovided (pic 14 C).
• Fit the Ø 35 mm pipe or the 90° elbow
onto the adaptor, inserting gasket G
between the adaptor and the bowl of the
elbow or pipe (fig. 14 B).
• Fix the elbows Ito the base using
the brackets Sprovided in the split-pipe
adaptor KIT (fig. 14 C).

• To join an elbow to a pipe or two pipes
together, insert one in the other and then
fit on the gasket H(fig. 14 B).
• When the load loss of the pipes is
low (see notes to table 2, sub-section
3.2.4), place at the air intake opening the
25-mm air diaphragm R(figs. 15 and 16)
supplied in the basic split-pipe adaptor
KIT (optional).
• Fit the terminal onto the pipe and tighten
the screw V. The air-intake and outlet
terminals are identical. If the Ø 35-mm
pipes run parallel, use the standard air
intake/flue gas terminal (fig. 16).
With this type of applications the pipes
can be embedded in the wall or run along
the wall.
If you need to run the pipes along indoor
walls, you can use the special counter-
frame provided as an optional (figs. 8
and 17).
When using the split-pipe adaptor KIT the
gas radiator can be positioned at a later
time than the air intake /flue gas pipes
(the kit contains a leaflet with instructions
for installation).

If the flue gas outlet is on the roof, it is
necessary to use the 60-mm terminal
provided.
This means that the end section must be
60 mm in diameter.
If 35-mm pipes are employed it is
necessary to use the 35/60 mm adaptor
(Win fig. 18) supplied as an optional.

The maximum pipe length depends
on the load loss of the individual
component parts used from the
radiator to the air intake and flue gas
outlet points.
The total amount of the load losses,
calculated according to the values
reported in table 2, must not exceed the
specified "Total Maximum Load Loss”.
The quantity must include both the flue
gas and the air intake pipes, and it varies
according to the diameter of the pipes
used (35 or 60 mm).

The electrical connections are made
by means of a terminal block on the
electronic board as follows:
• Run the cable through the fairlead.
• Connect the phase and the neutral wires
to terminals L and N, respectively, and
use a Faston connector to connect the
earth wire to terminal F2 (fig. 22).
.
• Check correct connection of wire-link
P1 to the second and the third pins on
the main terminal block (fig. 22).
• Secure the fairlead.
The power unit has an F1A fuse in series
with the phase wire.
Connection should be made by means of
a two-pole switch or a polarised socket
to facilitate maintenace and enable the
radiator to be disconnected prior to long
periods of inactivity.
The Gazelle Techno Classic gas radiator
allows the following applications:
1) connection to an external ambient
thermostat or timed thermostat
(optional);
2) connection to a telephone dialler for
remote start-up (option):
3) connection of several gas radiators to
a single remote thermostat (or timed
thermostat) or telephone sequence
switch.
With options 1 and 2, merely remove
the wire-link P1 (fig. 23) on the terminal
block and connect the remote room
thermostat or the telephone dialler to
the free terminal (fig. 21).
N.B. To control the radiator efficiently
using the external room thermostat, turn
temperature regulator C(fig. 1A) fully
clockwise to the maximum setting. If an
external programmer is connected, set
the timer clock to on Iconstant (see sub-
section 1.3.4 – fig. 5).
To control more than one radiator using
a single timer-thermostat:
• connect terminal 3 of the main terminal
block of one of the radiators to the
contact of the timer-thermostat;
• connect terminals 3 on the radiators
together (fig. 23).

Gas radiators are factory calibrated and
sealed according to the type of gas
available and the countries to which they
are exported. If you need to change the
type of gas, follow the procedures set out
below.
• When converting from one gas to
another, merely replace the injector of
the main burner (fig. 24), keeping to the
values shown in the table of technical
data.
• Then regulate the gas pressure.
• Check the main gas pressure by undoing
the screw C(fig. 25) and inserting the
measuring instrument in the pressure
check point on the gas supply pipe with
the radiator on.
• LPG
Undo the cover of pressure regulator
and turn the screw underneath
completely in. To check the maximum
pressure values (as shown in the table at
page 17) insert a measuring instrument
in pressure check point Aafter undoing
the screw. For minimum pressure
regulation act as described in “Natural
gas” paragraph
•
- To adjust maximum pressure, undo
the screw and insert the measuring
instrument in pressure check point
A. Then unscrew the plug of pressure
regulator and, with the radiator on
maximum power, turn the screw below
to regulate the pressure at the injector,
which must not exceed the values shown
in the table of technical data (page 17).
- To adjust minimum pressure, undo
the screw and insert the measuring
instrument in pressure check point A.
Then, with the radiator on minimum
power, turn screw Yto regulate the
pressure at the injector, which must not
exceed the values shown in the table of
technical data (page 17).
. To set maximum power, turn
temperature regulator Con the control
panel fully clockwise.When the maximum
power light F(fig. 1) comes on, you can
adjust the maximum gas pressure setting.
To set minimum power, disconnect the
connector of the solenoid 2 from the
board 1 (fig. 22).

Wrong phase-neutral connection Check that the connection sequence is as

The timer clock does not work Replace it
The timer clock switch is faulty Replace the timer clock
One or more wires are disconnected Check the connections
The gas valve minimum coil has blown out Replace it
The electronic operating board is faulty Replace it
The electric motor is faulty Replace the electric motor or the fan
