: DHCP= (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ) DHCP is a computer networking protocol used by Host computers to retrieve IP address and
assignments and other configuration information automatically. If your network uses DHCP a connection of the optimailTM 30 with your
network will very easy to setup.
IP Address= ( Internet Protocol) A IP-Address is used, to deliver data from a sender to the right receiver. This is like a postal address on an
envelope which is used to identify the correct receiver, but instead of an address in words, a network use IP-Addresses. E.g. IPv4 Address:
192.0.2.42
DNS = (Domain Name Server)A DNS Is like directory assistance (yellow pages) the DNS server translate human readable URL- Addresses
into network IP- Addresses, which are handled by network systems. E.g.: www.example.org = 192.0.2.42 —
Proxy= A Proxy server is a communication interface in a computer network. It acts like a mediator, who receives on the one side inquiries,
and then it makes a connection over its own IP-address to the other side of the computer network. If a Proxy is used, the true address of the
of the computer network may be hidden.
Authentication= Is the confirmation that a computer network is locked, or protected. This locking is also called authorizing. For example as
“access authorization” or “authenticity” or as ”validation”
Subnet mask= The Subnet mask specifies, which IP addresses the host computer looks for in a local network. It separates the IP address
into a network and a component part. The network part must be equal with all devices of the respective network and the component part must
be different for each equipment. The subnet masks of all computers in an IP network have to be configured as same.
Standard gateway= A gateway makes it possible to link computer networks, which communicate in different computer languages, to
