10. Assembly Instructions
Warning!
Use the fitting only with non-return valves and the grit filters specified.
Failure to observe can result in an increased bacterial load in drinking water and
cause a health risk or even risk of death.
☞Important!
Before installing, flush the pipes in compliance with DIN 1988.
10.1 Install the screw connections (a).
10.2 Install the screw-rosettes (b).
10.3 Insert the grit filters (c).
☞Important!
Be careful to insert the grit filters the right way round.
10.4 Install the fitting (d) with the union nuts (e).
10.5 Open the water volume regulators (f).
10.6 Check the water connections for leaks.
11. Function
Triggering water flow
11.1 Press the button.
• Water flows.
• Water flow stops automatically after a set flow duration.
☞The flow duration can be set in the range 1–50s.
Selecting the temperature
12. Thermal Disinfection
This shower fitting provides the features necessary to perform thermal disinfection to
reduce the risk of Legionella infection.
Thermal disinfection is triggered by overturning the thermostat.
Warning!
Protective measures for persons (scald-protection) must be provided during thermal
disinfection, e.g. closing off sanitary rooms.
Failure to observe can cause bodily harm due to scalding.
The operator is responsible for performing, monitoring and logging (room, tap, date,
time, temperature, duration).
Any liability claims by third parties attributed to the operator improperly performing
thermal disinfection are therefore declined by the manufacturer.

The thermostatic fitting has been prepared for performing thermal disinfection by
over-torquing the thermostat. By unlocking the concealed stop on the temperature
selector lever, manual thermal disinfection can be performed on the thermostatic
fitting (flushing with a water temperature ≥70°C).
12.1 Place a shower pipe (e.g. HT pipe, di = 100 mm) beneath the shower head to
discharge the hot water to prevent scalding during thermal disinfection.
Caution!
Do not touch the housing during the thermal disinfection process.
Failure to observe can cause bodily harm due to scalding.
12.2 With the Allen key depressed, turn the temperature selector handle (a) counter-
clockwise until it reaches the stop.
12.3 When the stop is reached, pull out the Allen key and continue to turn the temper-
ature selector handle (a) over the stop.
12.4 Turn the temperature selector handle (c) counter-clockwise until it reaches the stop
(end position).
12.5 Trigger the valve.
12.6 Measure the hot water temperature.
12.7 If the hot water temperature is > 70°C, flush the valve at least 3 minutes. To this end,
trigger the fitting several times.
☞Thermal disinfection must be logged (room, tapping point, date, time, temperature,
duration).
12.8 Turn the temperature selector handle (a) clockwise until it locks.
Caution!
The temperature selector handle (a) must not be able to rotate counter-clockwise
past the stop.
12.9 Check the stop.
12.10 Open the fitting so that the remaining hot water is discharged.
12.11 Measure the water temperature. The maximum water temperature must not exceed
40°C (see Chapter 14.).
12.12 Remove the shower pipe.
☞After thermal disinfection has been performed, it is not necessary to readjust the
scald-protector.

13. Setting the Flow Duration
13.1 Set the required mixed water temperature.
13.2 Remove the cover platelet.
13.3 Use a screwdriver to set the flow duration.
+ longer flow duration (max. 50 s)
– shorter flow duration (min. 1 s)
13.4 Trigger the valve to measure the flow duration.
13.5 Put on the cover plate after setting the required flow time.
14. Setting the Scald-protector
Warning!
If the temperature of the hot-water supply is higher than 45°C, adjust the scald-
protector.
Failure to observe can cause bodily harm due to scalding.
☞The scald-protector (hot water limit stop) is factory-set (according to DIN 1988) to
40°C. Before using, set the plant-specific parameters.
14.1 Set the temperature selector handle (c) to the maximum temperature.
14.2 Remove the cover plate (a).
14.3 Loosen the screw and the washer (b).
14.4 Pull the temperature selector handle (c) off.
14.5 Trigger the valve.
14.6 The temperature is freely adjustable:
Use the regulating nut (d) to set the maximum water temperature, e.g. to 40°C.
14.7 Push the temperature selector handle (c) on the stop ring (e).
14.8 Use the screw and the washer (b) to fix the temperature selector handle (c) to the
fitting.
14.9 Press the cover plate (a) on to the temperature selector lever.

15. Maintenance and Servicing
Depending on the quality of the water, the local conditions and the rules and regula-
tions applicable on site, the fitting must be maintained and serviced at regular
intervals.
Perform maintenance on the following components:
• Filters (see Chapter 16.)
• Non-return valve (see Chapter 18.)
• Functional part (see Chapter 19.)
Properly use suitable cleaning agents that are not harmful to the fittings and rinse
with water after use. High-pressure cleaners must not be used for cleaning.
Removing the Fitting
Some maintenance work requires the fitting to be removed.
15.1 Use an Allen key to close the water volume regulator (a).
15.2 Trigger the fitting.
15.3 Loosen the union nut (b).
15.4 Remove the fitting.
16. Replacing the Grit Filter
Mesh washers
16.1 Remove the fitting (see Chapter 15.).
16.2 Replace the grit filters (a).
☞Important!
Be careful to insert the grit filters the right way round.
16.3 Reassemble in the reverse order.
17. Replacing the Thermocouple
Warning!
After installing the fitting or removing the thermocouple, adjust the scald protector.
Failure to observe can cause bodily harm due to scalding.
17.1 Close the flow volume regulators (see Chapter 15.1).
17.2 Trigger the fitting.
17.3 Remove the cover plate (a).
17.4 Loosen the screw and the washer (b).

17.5 Remove the temperature selection handle (c) and the stop ring (d).
17.6 Remove the screw (e).
17.7 Pull out the thermocouple (g).
17.8 Reassemble in the reverse order.
17.9 Adjust the scald protector (see Chapter 14.).
18. Replacing the Non-return Valve
Warning!
All non-return valves must always be replaced as a group.
Failure to observe can result in an increased bacterial load in drinking water and
cause a health risk or even risk of death.
18.1 Remove the fitting (see Chapter 15.).
18.2 Remove the mesh washer (a).
18.3 Use an Allen key to unscrew the seating (b) completely (left-hand thread).
18.4 Replace the non-return valve (c).
Caution!
Ensure that the non-return valve is installed in the right direction.
18.5 Reassemble in the reverse order.
19. Replacing the Functional Part
19.1 Close the water volume regulator (see Chapter 15.).
19.2 Trigger the fitting.
19.3 Remove the cover plate (a).
19.4 Use an Allen key to loosen the screw (b) counter-clockwise.
19.5 Remove the rotary knob (c).
19.6 Use an Allen key to unscrew the screw (d) counter-clockwise.
19.7 Pull off the control unit (e).
19.8 Remove the circlip.
19.9 Pull out the functional part.
19.10 Reassemble in the reverse order.
19.11 Check the flow duration and correct if necessary (see Chapter 13.).
