Thank you for choosing S1900-16T switch. This guide is designed to familiarize you with the layout of
the switch and describes how to deploy the switch in your network.

RJ45 10/100/1000BASE-T ports for Ethernet connection. Port 15 to 16
can be used for uplink ports (VLAN on).

NOTE: The switch supports auto MDI/MDIX. You can use either a straight through cable
or a crossover cable to connect the switch to the Ethernet devices.

being transmitted over the port.

Off
The switch is powered on properly.
The switch is not powered on, or not powered on properly.
In this mode, ports 1 to 14 of the switch cannot
communicate with each other, but can communicate with
ports 15 and 16. You can enable this mode to isolate DHCP
broadcast and reduce broadcast storms.
On Default mode of the switch. In this mode, all ports can
communicate with each other.

Installation Requirements
The installation site must be well ventilated. Ensure that there is adequate air flow around
the switch.
Before you begin the installation, make sure that you have the following:
Site Environment:
Do not operate it in an area that exceeds an ambient temperature of 45°C.
Desktop mounting: ESD bracelet (or ESD gloves).
Wall mounting: ESD bracelet (or ESD gloves), ladder, marker, hammer drill, rubber hammer,
screwdriver.
The installation site must be free from leaking or dripping water, heavy dew, and humidity.
Ensure wall and working platforms are well earthed.
Be sure that the switch is level and stable to avoid any hazardous conditions.
Do not install the equipment in a dusty environment.

Mounting the Switch
Desk Mounting
1. Attach four rubber pads to the bottom.
2. Place the chassis on a desk.
Wall Mounting
1. Use a hammer drill to drill 2 holes (diameter: 6 mm) on the wall and the distance between
the 2 holes is 110 mm. Keep the two holes on a horizontal line.

2. Knock the expansion bolts into the holes using a rubber hammer.
3. Use a screwdriver to fix the screws into the expansion bolts. Distance between the inside surface
of the screw header and the edge of the expansion bolt should not be less than 2.5 mm, to make
sure that the switch can be hung on the screws firmly.

NOTE: This switch can only be installed on a concrete or non-flammable wall.
4. Align the two wall-mounting slots on the bottom of the switch with the two screws on the wall,
and then slide the switch to fit in the screws until it is firmly hung on the screws.

1. Connect one end of the grounding cable to a proper earth ground, such as the wall in which the
switch is mounted.
2. Secure the grounding lug to the grounding point on the back of the switch with the washer and
screws.
Grounding the Switch
1. Plug the AC power cord into the power port on the back of the switch.
2. Connect the other end of the power adapter to an AC power source.
Connecting the Power
WARNING: Do not install power adapter while the power is on.
CAUTION: The earth connection must not be removed unless all supply connections have
been disconnected.

Power
Connecting the RJ45 Ports
1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of a computer, printer, network storage, or other
network devices.
2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port of the switch.
