In
the event that the user has normal eyesight, distant objects are clearly visible
when the diopter scale is set to
0.
· Users who are near or farsighted,
in
either or both eyes, should adjust each
eyepiece until each eye sees a sharp, perfectly focused distant image.
Most people will find that the vision
in
each
of
their eyes is not exactly the same.
Individual eyepiece focusing compensates for that.
IMPORTANT
After exposure to saltwater
or
spray,
flush the binocular thoroughly with
fresh water and wipe dry.
Avoid extended exposure to bright
sunlight.

• Neck strap installation
The FUJINON-MARINER comes with a one-piece rubber cap designed to protect both
ocular lenses when the binocular is not
in
use. For maximum convenience, it is designed
to be permanently attached to your binocular as
an
integral part
of
the neckstrap.
To
install the cap and strap, please follow these steps:
(1) Remove one buckle and two keepers from the neckstrap and replace them as shown.
(2) Place the one-piece ocular cap
on
the binocular so that
the slot
on
the cap aligns with the slot
on
the left side
of
the binocular. Insert one end
of
the strap through the
slot
on
the ocular cap and pass it through the slot
on
the
binocular.
*NOTE
If the strap does not come to a clean pointed end,
cut it with a scissors and use a match or lighter to
singe off any loose or frayed ends.
(3) Pass the strap through the keeper and the keeper and
the buckle.
(4) Repeat the procedure for the other end
of
t~e
strap on the
other side
of
the binocular, the strap is passed directly
through the binocular slot ( the ocular cap is equipped with
only one slot (the ocular cap is equipped with only one slot).

IISpeciallnstructions for Compass Model {7x50WPC-XL)
· How to use the built-in compass light and reticle
(1) The FUJINON-MARINER compass model
comes with built-in LED compass illuminator
for use at nighe and
in
low light conditions.
(Incidentally, the compass is built into the left
tube
of
the binocular but the pushbutton control
for the lighe and the battery are located
in
the
right tube. This was done to minimise the
chance that electrical interference might affect
compass performance.)
(2) When the ambient light does not permit you to see
the compass heading clearly, press the button atop
the right tube. If the light is dim or does not come on,
replace the batteries.
· How to change the batteries
(1)
To
change the battery, use a thin coin to remove
the battery cover by turning it counter-clockwise.
(2) Remove the two batteries, the batteries have a (+)
on the front and a (-)
on
the back.
(3) Be suer to insert the new batteries
with(+)
signs
in
the same direction.
(4) Replace the battery cover by turning it clockwise.
(5) Battery type : LR43
The following battery is compatible with it.
186, D186A, RW84, V12GA, L1142, GP186, AG12, G12A

· How to use the reticle
(1) The vertical scale (reticle) visible through the left half
of
the binocular, above the
compass display, allows you to calculate to
an
object ifyou know its height, or to
calculate the height
of
an
object ifyou its distance from you.
(2) Each mark
on
the vertical scale has a value
of
5 MIL
(1
MIL is equivalent to
an
angle
that can determine
an
object one meter
in
height at a distance
of
1000 meters).
Therefore, if a navigation chart gives the height
of
an object, by sighting on it and
counting the number
of
MILs, you can determine how far away it
is.
Here are
the two formulas:
To
