1. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using your telephone equipment, basic safety precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury, including the following:
1. Read and understand all theinstructions.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
3. Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners
or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth forcleaning.
4. Do not use this product near water (for example, near a bath tub, kitchen sink,
swimming pool).
5. Do not expose the telephone to direct sunlight or extreme cold environment. Do not
put the telephone close to a heating source such as radiators, cookers,etc.
6. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in the risk of fire
or electric shock.
7. Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to the distributor under
the following conditions:
•When the power supply cord or plug is damaged orfrayed.
•If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions.
•If the product has been dropped and the cabinet has been damaged.
•If the product exhibits a distinct change in performance.
8. Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electricalstorm.
There may be a remote risk of electric shock fromlightning.
9. Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of theleak.
10. Use only the supplied NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery pack! The operation
periods for the handsets are only applicable with the default battery capacities
11. The use of other battery types or non-rechargeable batteries/primary cells can be
dangerous. These may cause interference and/or unit damages. The manufacturer
will not be held liable for damage arising from such non-compliance.
12. Do not use third party charging bays. The battery may be damaged.
13. Battery should not be exposed to excessive heat such as bright sunshine or fire and
immersed in water.
14. For pluggable equipment, the socket-outlet (power adaptor) shall be installed near
the equipment and shall be easilyaccessible.

2. SET UP THE TELEPHONE
2.1 Package Contents
The package contains the following items:

2.2 Location
For maximum coverage and reduce the interference, here are some guidelines you
should consider when you place the base unit,
- place it at a convenient, high, and central location with no obstructions between
the handset and base unit in an indoor environment.
- place it away from electronic appliances such as televisions, microwave ovens,
radios, personal computers, wireless devices or other cordless phones.
- avoid facing radio frequency transmitters, such as external antennas of mobile
phone cell stations.
- avoid plugging it into the same circuit as other major household electrical
appliances because of the potential for interference. Try moving the appliance or
the base unit to another poweroutlet.
2.3 Connect the Corded Base Station

If the reception for a base unit location is not satisfactory, move it to another location
for better reception.
Depending on the surrounding conditions as well as spatial and structural factors, the
range may be reduced. The range indoors is normally less than outdoors.

2.4 Install and Charge the HandsetBattery 3. GET TO KNOW YOUR PHONE
3.1 Overview of the Handset
1. Plug the battery connector securely into the socket inside the handset battery
compartment. Insert the supplied battery asindicated.
2. Align the cover flat against the battery compartment, and then slide it upwards
until it clicks into place.
3. Charge the handset by placing it face forward in the base. You hear a beep
when the handset is charging in thecharger.
NOTES
•Use only the supplied NiMH rechargeable batterypack.
•If you do not use the handset for a long time, disconnect and remove the battery
to prevent possibleleakage.

3.2 Overview of the Base

While the phone is idle, press to page all handsets.

On when handsets are in use, or when the answering system is answering an
incoming call.
On when a handset is being registered.
Flashes when there is an incoming call or when handsets are being deregistered.

3.3 Handset LCD Display Icons and Symbols
The screen display gives you information on the current status of the telephone.
Steadily on when the handset is within range of the base.
Flashes when the handset is out of range of the base or cannot
communicate with the base.
Steadily on when an intercom call is in progress.
Flashes when there is an incoming internal call or an internal call is put
on hold.
Steadily on when a call is in progress.
Flashes when there is an incoming call.
Steadily on when the speakerphone is turned on.
Steadily on when the battery is fully charged.
Animates when battery is charging.
Flashes when low battery is detected to indicate that it needs charging.
Steadily on when the telephone answering machine (TAM) is turned on.
Flashes when a new message is received in the answering machine.
Steadily on when an alarm is set.
Flashes when the alarm time set before reaches.
Steadily on when there are received new Voice Message Waiting
(VMWI) not yet read.
Disappears when all the voice messages have been read.
Steadily on when the keypad is locked.
Steadily on when the ringer is switched off.

3.4 Handset Menu Structure
In idle mode, pressing LEFT SOFTKEY will access the menu. Refer to the following for
the menu structure.
3.5 Text and Digit Entry Table
The following tables show you where each letter and punctuation character can be
found. This will be helpful when storing a name in the phonebook or renaming
your handset.

positioned at the right of the last character entered.
Writing Tips:
1. Once a character is selected, the cursor will move to the next position after a
short pause.

3. Press RIGHT SOFTKEY on the handset to delete the lastcharacter.
4. Press and hold RIGHT SOFTKEY on the handset to delete the entire text
string.

4.1 Make an External Call
4.1.1 Preparatory Dialing
Using a handset:
Enter the phone number and press or to dial the number. Press
LEFT SOFTKEY to clear the entry.
4.1.2 Direct Dialing
Using a handset:
Press or to take the line, and then enter thephone number.
Using the base:
Press to take the line, and then enter thephone number with the pictures.
4.1.3 Call from the Phonebook
Using a handset:
1. Press to access the phonebook list and press to select the
desired phonebook entry.
2. Press or to dial the selected entry.Press it again to turn on the
speakerphone.
4.1.4 Call from the Call List
Using a handset:
1. Press to access the call list.
OR
1. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to enter the main menu.
2. Press / to select the desired call list entry.
3. Press or to dial the selected call list entry. Press it again to turn on the
speakerphone.
4.1.5 Call from one picture
Using the base:
To use a picture big button memory in idle mode, press and hold the picture until the
LED turns on, on the base.
If you want to pass the number from the base to the handset, lift the handset off
the base to take the call.
4.1.6 Call from the Redial List
Using a handset:
1. Press to access the redial list.
2. Press / to select the desired redialnumber.
3. Press or to dial the selected redial number. Press it again to turn onthe
speakerphone.
4.1.7 Call Timer
Your handset automatically times the duration of each call. The call timer will display
a few seconds after the call has ended. It is shown in hours, minutes and seconds
format (HH:MM: SS).
4.2 Answer a Call
Using a handset:
If the handset is not on the charging cradle or the base station:
When the phone rings, press or to answer a call. Press it again to turn on the
speakerphone.
If the handset is on the charging cradle or the base station and if AUTO ANSWER is set
to be ON: When the phone rings, pick up the handset to answer a call.
4.3 BOOSTER Function
The BOOSTER function allows you to amplify the handset earpiece volume to
compensate for the ear’s limited sensitivity.
Using a handset:
To turn on the BOOSTER function:
•Press at any time during a call. “BOOST ON” displays on the handset screen.
•When the BOOSTER function is activated, press to increase or decrease
the earpiece volume.
To turn off the BOOSTER function and return the earpiece volume back to normal:
•Press again and the handset top indicator will turnoff.
NOTE:
The audio boost feature will be turned off automatically when the call is ended.

4.4 End a Call
Using a handset:
During a call, press to end thecall. OR
Put the cordless handset on the charging cradle to end the call.
Using the base:
Press to end the call in speakerphone mode
4.5 Adjust Earpiece and Speakerphone Volume
There are 5 levels (VOLUME 1 to VOLUME 5) to choose from for each of earpiece and
speakerphone volume.
Using a handset:
During a call:
Press / to select volume 1-5. The current setting is shown. When you end the
call, the setting will remain at the last selected level.
Using the Base:
During a call: Press / to increase or decrease the speakerphone volume.
4.6 Mute a Call
With the call muted, you can talk to someone nearby without letting the caller hear you
during a call.
Using a handset:
During a call:
Press RIGHT SOFTKEY to mute the microphone and “MUTED” will be displayed
on the handset screen. Yourcaller cannot hear you. PressRIGHT SOFTKEY
again to resume the microphone.
4.7 Set the Handset Silent Mode
In idle mode, press and hold to turn off the handset ringer. The will be
displayed on the handsetscreen.
In silent mode, press and hold to turn on the handset ringer. The will
disappear.
4.8 Set the Handset Keypad Lock
You can turn on/off the keypad lock of a handset to avoid misoperation.
In idle mode, press and hold to turn on the keypad lock. The will be displayed
on the handsetscreen.
In keypad lock mode, press and hold to turn off the keypad lock. The will
disappear.
4.9 Redial the Last Number
You can redial up to 10 of the last numbers called on the cordless handset or on the
corded telephone base. If you have stored a name in the phonebook to match with the
number, the name will be displayed instead. The most recently dialed number will be
displayed at the top of the redial list.
4.9.1 Redial a Number from the Redial List
Using a handset:
1. In idle mode, press to access the rediallist.
2. Press / to browse the redial list.
3. Press or to dial the selected redialnumber.
NOTE:
If there is no number in the redial list, the display will show “EMPTY”.
4.9.2 Store a Redial Number into thePhonebook
Using a handset:
1. Follow Steps 1 and 2 in section4.9.1.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to select ADD TO PB.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to enter the name.
4. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to store the redial number into thephonebook.
5. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to select phonebookmelody.
6. Press / to browse the melody list. The respective melody will be played while
you are browsing the melodylist.
7. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to confirm.
4.9.3 Delete a RedialNumber
Using a handset:
1. Follow Steps 1 and 2 in section4.9.1.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select DELETE.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to confirm.

4.9.4 Delete the Entire Redial List
Using a handset:
1. Follow Steps 1 and 2 in section 4.9.1.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select DELETE ALL.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to confirm.
4. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to reconfirm.
4.10 Find the Handset
This feature helps you find the misplaced handset(s).
You can locate the handset by operation on the base station as below.
•In idle mode, press /HANDSETLOCATOR.
All the handsets registered to the base will produce the paging tone, and “PAGING” will
flash on the screen. Youcan stop the paging by pressing / / /
RIGHT SOFTKEY on any handset or /HANDSET LOCATOR on the base to stop
paging.
NOTE:
If there is an incoming call during paging, the phone will ring with the incoming call
instead of paging.
4.11 Make an Internal Call
This feature allows you to make internal calls, transfer external calls and make
conference calls. If the called handset is not answered within 60 seconds, it will stop
ringing and the calling one will return to standby mode.
4.11.1 Intercom
Using a handset:
1. In idle mode, press RIGHT SOFTKEY and the numbers of the registered
handsets will display except the callinghandset.
2. Enter the desired handset number you want to intercom with.
3. The called handset rings. Press or on the called handset to establish the
internal call.
Using the Handset
If you receive a call on the base in speaker mode, the call is automatically
transferred on the handset if the handset is removed from the base.
4.11.2 Call AllHandsets
Using a handset:
1. In idle mode, press RIGHT SOFTKEY and the numbers of the registered
handsets will display except the callinghandset.
2. Press 9 to ring to all registeredhandsets.
4.11.3 Transfer an ExternalCall
Using a handset:
During an external call:
1. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select INTERCOM.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to select the desired handset you want to intercom
with.
3. The external call is put on hold automatically and the called handset rings.

4.11.4 Make a 3-way ConferenceCall
The conference call feature allows one external call to be shared with the corded
base and cordless handset or two cordless handsets. The three parties can share the
conversation and no network subscription is required.

2. Press and hold on the calling handset to establish the conferencecall.
NOTE:
Any party (corded base or cordless handset) hangs up during a conference call will

5 PHONEBOOK
Your phone can store up to 50 private phonebooks in the cordless handset and
the telephone base with names and numbers. Each phonebook entry can have a
maximum of 20 digits for the phone number and 12 characters for the name. Youcan
also select different ringer tones for your phonebook entries. Phonebook entries are
stored alphabetically by name.
5.1 Add a New Phonebook Entry
Using a handset:
In idle:
1. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to select PHONEBOOK main menu item and then
press LEFT SOFTKEY to access the phonebooklist.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to select ADD.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and enter the name.

Youcan check how many phonebook entries have been occupied in your phone and
how many phonebook entries are available for you to store in the phonebook.

2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and to select PB STATUS. The display shows
“XX/50” (XX refer to the number of phonebook entries).

5.8 Set the Fast Dial Numbers
After setting the fast dial numbers, you can dial to the pre-set numbers by pressing
and holding the respective digit keys from idle mode.

6 CALLER DISPLAY(NETWORKDEPENDENT)
This feature is available if you have subscribed the Caller Line Identification service
with your network service provider. Your phone can store up to 20 received calls on
the cordless handset with date/time information in the call list. The number will be
shown on the LCD when the phone is ringing. If the number
matches with one of the entries in your Private Phonebook, the caller’s name stored in
the private phonebook will be displayed with the number. The phone will ring with the
melody associated with that phonebook entry.
If the caller number is disabled to send caller information, “WITHHELD” will be
displayed.
If the call is an international call or with unknown number, “OUT OF AREA” will be
displayed.
In standby, if three unanswered calls are received, “3 CALLS” will be displayed.
6.1 View the Call List
All unanswered calls are saved in calls log with the latest call putting at the top of
the list. When the call list is full, the oldest call will be replaced by a new call. The
unanswered call which has not been read is marked with icon.

1. Press to access the call list.

Your AMPLIDECTTM295PHOTO base can also paired as additional handsets with
some specific handset/device like our PhotoDECT295 or SOS PRO 295 5 which need
direct memory numbers programed in the base, and these numbers (4 maxi) have to
be added through the regular handset.You can store direct memory numbers (M1 to
M4) in the handset. Then, you can dial them directly from idle mode using the pendant
or in press one picture of your PhotoDECT295.

your phone the way you like it to work.
9.1 Clock Settings
You will need to set the correct date and time so that you know when you received
answering machine messages or call list entries.
Using the handset:
Set the Date Format

2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to show DATE FORMAT.

9.2 Alarm Settings
Youcan use this phone to set an alarm clock. When an alarm is set, the displays
on the screen. When the alarm time is reached, the and “ALARM ON” flash on
the screen ringing with the alarm melody for a duration of 45 seconds. You can press
any key to disable the alarm. If snooze function is activated, the alarm will sound
again at the end of the snooze period of sevenminutes.
NOTES:
a. Key press is still applicable if handset keypad is locked and when the alarm time
is reached.
b. The alarm volume level is the same as the settings of the handset ringer volume.
If the handset ringer is set to OFF, the alarm still sounds at VOLUME 1level.
c. During an external call or an internal call, if an alarm is set and when the alarm
time is reached, the and “ALARM ON” will still flash. An alarm tone will be
emitted from the earpiece to notify user the alarm time is reached. Once user
press any key or press and hold to disable the alarm, it will revert to the call
duration screen.
d. During paging or ringing, the alarm will not sound when the alarm time is
reached. However, if snooze function is enabled, the alarm will sound again at
the end of the snooze period provided that it’s not ringing or in paging mode at
the end of the snoozeperiod.
9.2.1 Turn on/off the Alarm

2. Press MENU/OK and / to select VOLUME.

9.4.3 De-register aHandset
Youare requested to enter the 4-digit PIN (0000 by default) in order to de-register a
handset from the base station. The on the de-registered handset will be off.

1. A 4-digit system PIN code is used for changing the system settings of the base
station. It is used to protect your phone against unauthorized use. The default
system PIN is 0000. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select BS
SETTINGS.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select CHANGE PIN.
Press LEFT SOFTKEY and you are requested to enter the 4-digit system
PIN.
3. Enter the old system PIN.
4. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and enter the new system PIN.
5. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and enter the new system PIN again.
NOTE:
If the new PIN entered in Step 6 is not matched with the new system PIN
entered in Step 5, user is requested to enter the valid system PIN again in Step
5.
6. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to confirm the setting.
9.5. Registration
Your handset and base station is pre-registered. Up to five handsets can be
registered to a single base station.
If for some reason, the handset is not registered to the base station ( flashes even
when the handset is near the base station), register your handset according to the
followingprocedure.
1. SOFTKEY and / to select REGISTRATION.
2. If you have more than one base, press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select
the base number from BASE 1, BASE 2, BASE 3 and BASE 4. There willbe a
behind the current registered basenumber.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to display “PIN?” enter the 4-digit system PIN for
the base (default PIN is 0000).
4. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and the display will show “WAITING”.
5. Atthe same time, press andhold /HANDSET LOCATOR on the base to enter
theregistrationmode.
After a short delay, if the registration is successful, there will be a confirmation beep,
and the handset display will go back to idle mode with the new handset number

9.6. Reset Your Phone
Youcan reset your phone to the default settings. After reset, all your personal settings
and call list entries will be deleted, but your phonebook list remains unchanged.

10. ANSWERING MACHINE
Your telephone base includes a telephone answering machine that records unanswered
calls when it is on. The answering machine can store up to 59 messages within the
maximum recording time of approximately 15 minutes. As well as recording incoming
messages, you can record memos for other users of your phone.
10.1 Switching Answering Machine On/Off
Using a handset:
1. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select TAM ON/OFF.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select ON or OFF.
4. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to confirm.
10.2 Play Messages on TAM
If you have new messages, the display will show e.g. 02/05 MSGS, which means you
have 2 new message out of total 5 messages. New messages are played first, and then
are saved as old messages, until they are deleted. Old messages are played again after
all new messages are played completely.
Using a handset:
1. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to show MSGPLAYBACK.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY again to start message playback andthe screen
displays the date of the messagereceived.
4. During message playback, press / to adjust the message playback
volume respectively.
NOTE:
After new message is played, the new message will be saved as an old message
automatically unless it is deleted.
5. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select STOP, FORWARD, PREVIOUS or
DELETE to perform the following functions during message playback.
•STOP: Stop the current message playback and return to the ANS.MACHINE
menu.
•FORWARD: Skip to play the next message. The date information of the next
message will display if there is nextmessage.
•PREVIOUS: Skip to repeat playing the current message from the beginning.The
date information of the current message willdisplay.
•DELETE: Delete the current message and the next message will be played.
6. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to confirm the setting.
