vices
STANDARD and StandardFLEX series vices can be aligned on the
machine table horizontally or vertically mounted.
Accurate positioning and alignment within centesimal tolerances is made
through 16 H7 longitudinal or crossway keys.
It is also possible to align the vice through calibrated ground screws
(Not for 1-2 types).
POSITIONING
ALIGNMENT BETWEEN THE CROSS KEYWAY AND
THE FIXED JAW PLATE
Set the vice vertically ensuring that it is perfectly parallel to
the table Ain both sides.
Then with an indicator check the parallelism of the
keyway and its alignment with the xed jaw plate.
The clamping on the machine table can be made through screws from the central groove or through side clamps.
Ideal clamping is through side clamps (Art. 296).
Two vices aligned through central cross keys or ground screws or side lateral reference points guarantee the same reference and alignment on the xed jaw
section with accuracy within 0.02mm.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CORRECT WORK-PIECE CLAMPING
2- Position the movable jaw Art120 / 120A loosening the 2 set
screws Art.410 in order to allow the ground ball Art.361 to lift
and then move the Art.258 blocking group to the proper position
on the vice base leaving roughly 5 mm space with respect to the
workpiece to clamp. (Pic.2)
1- Ensure that the vice is properly positioned and clamped to the
machine table and that the xed jaw Art.120 / 120A is properly assembled.

3- Tighten the 2 set screws Art.410 through the T-wrench Art.376 and
ensure that the positioning ball Art.361 is properly positioned in a
spherical recess.

Be careful that the positioning ball is not pushed in the hole used for the vice
clamping screws. It is also possible to use a proper insert Art. 291 with spherical
recess in order to prevent bad blocking of the ball. (Pic. 3)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER USE
Hard tightening down of the vice to the machine
table by this method is NOT recommended
as it can distort gap X and prevent the moving
jaw from sliding
