Product features
The surface-mounted video home station 7 from the
Gira door communication system is a fully pre-
assembled unit with a 17.78 cm (7") colour TFT
display and convenient speakerphone function. It is
operated using the touch-screen and the five
capacitive operating buttons. Operation only
requires a light touching of the symbols. When a
button is pressed correctly, a deactivatable
confirmation tone sounds or the user can also select
tactile feedback (vibration) for this.

When using an additional power supply
If there is an incoming call (audio, video, internal
call), flashes for 2 min and the home screen
opens automatically. " ...call accept" is displayed
in the menu bar and the type of the call is shown in
the status bar above the screen ("Door call" or
"Internal call").
If the call originates from a video door station, the
camera image is also visible. If there are several
cameras in the system, the name of the displaying
camera is shown (for renaming cameras see
page 21). In this document, the door call video is
described in the following.
For power supply via BUS.
The screen remains dark if an incoming internal call
is received.
Maximum conversation duration
The maximum call duration is 2 minutes. The call
is automatically terminated when 2 minutes
have elapsed.

Accept the call either via " Door call accept" in the
menu bar or directly via , and start the voice
communication.
Setting the speaker volume
Select "Settings access" and "Voice volume change"
in the menu bar during voice communication. The
voice volume can be changed in seven stages using
the slider. The volume is saved automatically.

(Only possible if enabled by the installer)
Saving images manually
If a door call is accepted, images can be saved
manually during the call.
For this, press " Image capture" in the menu bar.
Please note the data privacy notice on page 23.
Saving images automatically
If the door call is not accepted within 2 mins, images
can be saved automatically (see also “Image memory
settings” on page 23).
A green flashing then indicates that new images
are available in the image memory.

Enforcement function
Use the enforcement function as soon as the
background noise at the door station prevents the
person at the front door from hearing you.
1. Keep or pressed during the conversation.
The message "Override function activated"
appears above the camera image.
While the button is pressed, it is only possible to
speak from the surface-mounted video home
station 7 to the door station.
2. Let go of or again to end the enforcement
function.
Ending door call
is lit up during the voice communication.
The door call can be ended either via " Door
conversation end" in the menu bar, or by pressing
.
After ending the door call, goes out.

Resuming a door call
After ending the door call, the conversation can be
restarted within 4 s with " Door conversation
resume" in the menu bar or directly by pressing .
The camera switches on again as well.
Switching ring tone off and back on
1. Press briefly.
lights up red continuously: The ring tone is
permanently switched off.
2. Press again briefly: The ring tone is switched
on again.
Switch the ring tone off only when needed
Switch off the ring tone only in exceptional cases.
Otherwise there is a risk of you not being able to
hear the ring tone, e.g. in emergencies.

Opening door
The door opener can be triggered in two different
ways:
•With" Door open" in the menu bar.
•Bypressing .
In the case of several doors, the door opener for the
door station from which the door call originated is
activated within 2 min. 2 min after the call has been
received or 30 s after the door call ends, the system
switches back to the main door.
Switching light (only in conjunction with a switch-
ing actuator)
Switching actions can be triggered in two different
ways:
• With the light (e.g. outdoor or stairway
lighting) is switched on.
• As "Favourite" in the menu bar.

Expanding or collapsing the menu bar
The home station has a menu bar for quick access.
You can see the standard menu bar on the left
(Changing the ring tone volume and opening
settings).
The menu bar can be collapsed or expanded at any
time.
1. Press "Collapse" to collapse the menu bar.
2. Press to expand the menu bar again.
The selected setting is retained automatically. This
means that: The menu bar remains collapsed when it
is already collapsed and there is an incoming call.
The following settings can be made visible in the
menu bar depending on parameterisation:
Favourites, access image memory, call internal calls,
open cameras, switch on or off automatic internal
call acceptance, and switch on or off automatic door
opener.

Changing the ring tone volume
Press and select "Ringtone volume change" in
the menu bar. The ring tone volume can be changed
in seven stages using the slider. The volume is saved
automatically. Switching off ring tone, see page 10.
Accessing image memory
(Only visible when enabled by the installer)
New images are indicated by a green point in the
image symbol.
1. Press "Image memory access" in the menu bar
to view the saved images. The last image that
was captured is shown first.
2. Select and view image.
3. Delete images individually with , or press
for multiple selection, and then delete.

is switched on and the image memory is unlocked.
For this, press on in the top menu bar.
In order to display the full image, press . The menu
bar is then automatically collapsed.
The image can be moved using the arrow buttons.

Internal call from another home station
This function will only work properly if a single
internal call only addresses a single home station
with automatic call acceptance. "Broadcast calls"
from one home station to multiple other home
stations are not possible.
No room surveillance
Automatic internal call acceptance cannot be used
for ongoing audio surveillance of a room (baby
monitor function).

The surface-mounted video home station 7 has two
input screens:
• A numerical input screen (A) for entering date and
time or PIN.
• An alphabet input screen (B) for spelling out
designations.
Use to delete characters. Each character is
deleted separately.
Use to confirm new entries.
Press to abort an entry and keep the previous
value or designation.
