Vorbereitung:
1. Die Bodenplatte sollte fest mit dem Tisch oder einer Arbeitsplatte verschraubt
werden, damit ein kippsicherer Aufbau möglich ist.
2. Durch Losdrehen der Klemmschraube (1) kann der Führungsstab (2) herausgezogen
werden und einfach an das Crimp-Werkzeug angebracht werden (3).


3. Danach kann der Führungsstab mit Werkzeug wieder im Tischhalter montiert werden
(4).
Das Werkzeug verfügt über eine manuelle Auslösung des Crimpvorganges. Um diesen zu
deaktivieren, kann die Innensechkantschraube (A) eingeschraubt werden. Damit wird
versehentliches Auslösen unterbunden.

Einstellungen und Positionierer-Wechsel:
Selektor-Einstellung
Für die Selektor-Einstellungen, die die Crimp-Tiefen bestimmen, gelten die gleichen
Vorgaben wie für das Werkzeug 09 99 000 0501.
Die Selektor-Einstellung erfolgt auf der Unterseite des Crimp-Werkzeuges.
1. Zuerst die Verdrehsicherung des Selektors entfernen.
2. Dann das Selektor-Rad leicht anheben und entsprechend der Vorgaben verstellen
und wieder einrasten.
3. Danach die Verdrehsicherung des Selektors einsetzen.
Positionierer-Wechsel
Alle Positionierer für die Hand-Crimpzange Artikel-Nr. 09 99 000 0501 können auch an der
Pneumatik-Crimpzange verwendet werden.

Die Positionierer werden an der Unterseite des Werkzeuges mit dem Bajonettverschluss
befestigt.
1. Zuerst die Auf-/Entnahmesicherung (Sicherungsklammer) entfernen.
2. Dann den jeweiligen Positionierer in das Werkzeug einsetzen und mit einer 90°
Drehung verriegeln. (Nur dann kann auch die Sicherungsklammer wiedereingesetzt
werden!)
3. Die Auf-/Entnahmesicherung kann nun wieder angebracht werden.
Die Entnahme läuft in analoger umgekehrter Abfolge.

Lösen eines teilweise gecrimpten Kontaktes:
Zum Lösen eines teilweise gecrimpten Kontaktes, ist wie folgt zu verfahren:
1. Erhöhen Sie den Luftdruck auf ca. 8 Bar (120 psi) und betätigen Sie die Einheit.
(Wenn die Erhöhung des Luftdrucks nicht zum Lösen des Kontakts führt, ist wie folgt zu
verfahren:)
a) Drehen Sie den Selektor Knopf in Uhrzeigerrichtung in die höchste verriegelbare
Einstellung. (Selektor Knopf muss vorher in verriegelter Stellung sein.)
b) Betätigen Sie die Einheit.
Wenn nach mehreren Versuchen kein Lösen erreicht werden konnte, nehmen
Sie Verbindung mit dem Bereich Service von HARTING auf.
Prüfen der Auslösesperre
Die Auslösesperre kann wie folgt auf ordnungsgemäße Funktion überprüft werden:
1. Stellen Sie den Luftdruck auf 1,03 bar (15 psi) ein.
2. Führen Sie einen Crimpvorgang unter Verwendung des passenden Kontakts und
Leiters aus. Die Kerbstempel erreichen die vollständig geschlossene Position
nicht und der Kontakt wird geklemmt, wenn die Auslösesperre ordnungsgemäß
funktioniert.
3. Zum Lösen des teilweisen gecrimpten Kontaktes erhöhen Sie den Luftdruck auf 5-
8 bar (80-120 psi) und betätigen Sie den Mechanismus. Das Werkzeug beendet
dann den Crimpvorgang, wobei die Kerbstempel in die vollständig geöffnete
Position zurückkehren.
Überprüfung des Werkzeuges bzw. der Crimp-Einstellung
Zur Validierung der Crimpergebnisse kann der Go/No-Go Tester (Artikel-Nr. 09 99 000 0617)
genutzt werden.
Dabei werden die Prüfspitzen in das geschlossene Werkzeug zur Überprüfung eingeführt.
Solange die No-Go Testspitze nicht in das Werkzeug passt, sind die Einstellungen der
Zange in Ordnung und es kann abgeleitet werden, dass die Qualität der Crimp-Verbindung
ebenfalls in Ordnung ist.
Die Selektoreinstellung für die Prüfung ist „8“.
ACHTUNG! –Nicht auf den Prüfdorn crimpen!

„GUT“-MESSUNG
Bringen Sie das Werkzeug in voll geschlossene Position. Führen Sie die „Gut“-Lehrenseite
(grüne Prüfspitzenseite) ein. Die Lehre muss sich frei zwischen den Kerbstempeln bewegen
können.
„AUSSCHUSS“-MESSUNG
Bringen Sie das Werkzeug in voll geschlossene Position. Führen Sie die „Ausschuss“-
Lehrenseite (rote Prüfspitzenseite) ein. Die „Ausschuss“-Seite darf teilweise in die Öffnung
hineingehen, darf aber nicht vollständig einführbar sein.
Wartung und Reinigung
Das Werkzeug ist wartungsarm aufgebaut. Es ist aber immer von Vorteil, die Gesenkeinheit
frei von Farbband-Restablagerungen und anderen Verschmutzungen frei zu halten. Dafür
kann eine kleine Drahtbürste verwendet werden!
Zur Reinigung keinesfalls das Werkzeug
•in eine Reinigungslösung eintauchen;
•Öl in das Werkzeug zur Schmierung einsprühen;
•Nicht versuchen, das Werkzeug zu demontieren oder Reparaturen auszuführen. Dies
ist ein Präzisions-Crimpwerkzeug und ist entsprechend zu behandeln.

Work pressure:
▪typically 5,5 –8,2 bar (80-120 psi)
▪It is recommended to connect the tool with a regulator and filter
(maintenance unit). An adapter may be required!
Preparations:
1. The base plate should be screwed tightly to the table or a worktop so that it can be
installed so that it cannot tip over.
2. By loosening the clamping screw (1), the guide rod (2) can be pulled out and simply
attached to the crimping tool (3).


3. The guide rod can then be re-installed in the table holder using a tool (4).
The tool has a manual triggering of the crimping process. To deactivate this, the hexagon
socket screw (A) can be screwed in. This prevents accidental triggering.

Settings and positioner change:
Selector setting
The same specifications apply to the selector settings that determine the crimp depths as for
tool 09 99 000 0501.
The selector setting is made on the underside of the crimping tool.
1. First remove the anti-rotation device from the selector.
2. Then lift the selector wheel slightly, adjust it according to the specifications and re-
engage.
3. Then insert the anti-rotation lock of the selector.
Positioner change
All positioners for hand crimping tool item no. 09 99 000 0501 can also be used with the
pneumatic crimping tool.
The positioners are attached to the bottom of the tool with the bayonet lock.

1. First remove the insertion / removal protection (safety clip).
2. Then insert the respective positioner into the tool and lock it with a 90 ° turn. (Only
then can the safety clip be reinserted!)
3. The insertion / removal protection can now be reattached.
The removal takes place in an analogous reverse sequence.
Loosening a partially crimped contact:
To release a partially crimped contact, proceed as follows:
1. Increase the air pressure to approximately 8 bar (120 psi) and operate the unit.

(If the increase in air pressure does not release the contact, proceed as follows :)
a) Turn the selector knob clockwise to the highest lockable setting. (The selector
knob must be in the locked position beforehand.)
b) Operate the unit.
If after several attempts you could not solve the problem, contact the HARTING
Service department.
Checking the trip lock
The trip lock can be checked for proper function as follows:
1. Set the air pressure to 1.03 bar (15 psi).
2. Perform a crimping process using the appropriate contact and conductor. The
notch punches will not reach the fully closed position and the contact will be
pinched if the trip lock is operating properly.
3. To release the partially crimped contact, increase the air pressure to 5-8 bar (80-
120 psi) and operate the mechanism. The tool then completes the crimping
process with the notching punches returning to the fully open position.
Check the tool or the crimp setting
The Go / No-Go Tester (Article No. 09 99 000 0617) can be used to validate the crimping
results.
The test probes are inserted into the closed tool for checking. As long as the no-go test tip
does not fit into the tool, the settings of the pliers are OK and it can be deduced that the
quality of the crimp connection is also OK.
The selector setting for the test is "8".
DANGER! - Do not crimp on the test probe!
"GOOD" MEASUREMENT
Bring the tool to the fully closed position. Insert the “good” gauge page (green probe tip side).
The gauge must be able to move freely between the notch punches.

"REJECT" MEASUREMENT
Bring the tool to the fully closed position. Introduce the “reject” gage page (red probe tip
side). The "reject" side may partially go into the opening but must not be fully insertable.
Maintenance and cleaning
The tool is designed to be low maintenance. However, it is always advantageous to keep the
die unit free from residual ink ribbon deposits and other contamination. A small wire brush
can be used for this!
To clean the tool NEVER do
•Immerse it in a cleaning solution.
•Spray oil into the tool for lubrication.
•Do not attempt to disassemble the tool or carry out repairs. This is a precision
crimping tool and should be treated accordingly.
