GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY
WARNINGS
WARNING
Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-
operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless)
power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce
risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the
risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location
is unavoidable, use a residual current device
(RCD) protected supply.
Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
A moment of inattention while operating power tools
may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always
wear eye protection.
Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the
switch is in the off-position before connecting
to power source and/or battery pack, picking up
or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch
or energising power tools that have the switch on
invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on.
A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of
the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of
dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and properly used.
Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
power tool for your application.
The correct power tool will do the job better and safer
at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not
turn it on and off.
Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/
or the battery pack from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing accessories,
or storing power tools.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of
children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions to
operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained
users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment
or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may affect the
power tool’s operation.
If damaged, have the power tool repaired before
use.
Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits
etc. in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working conditions and
the work to be performed.
Use of the power tool for operations different from
those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Battery tool use and care
a) Recharge only with the charger specified by the
manufacturer.
A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack
may create a risk of fire when used with another
battery pack.
b) Use power tools only with specifically
designated battery packs.
Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of
injury and fire.

●Operation
a) Before starting the machine, make certain that the
feeding chamber is empty.
b) Keep your face and body away from the feed intake
opening.
c) Do not allow hands or any other part of the body or
clothing inside the feeding chamber, discharge chute, or
near any moving part.
d) Keep proper balance and footing at all times. Do not
overreach. Never stand at a higher level than the base of
the machine when feeding material into it.
e) Always stand clear of the discharge zone when operating
this machine.
f) When feeding material into the machine be extremely
careful that pieces of metal, rocks, bottles, cans or other
foreign objects are not included.
g) If the cutting mechanism strikes any foreign objects or
if the machine should start making any unusual noise
or vibration, immediately shut offthe power source and
allow the machine to stop. Disconnect the machine from
the supply and take the following steps before restarting
and operating the machine:
i) inspect for damage;
ii) replace or repair any damaged parts;
iii) check for and tighten any loose parts.
h) Do not allow processed material to build up in the
discharge zone; this may prevent proper discharge and
can result in kickback of material through the intake
opening.
i) If the machine becomes clogged, shut-offthe power
source and disconnect the machine from supply before
cleaning debris.
j) Never operate the machine with defective guards or
shields, or without safety devices.
k) Keep the power source clean of debris and other
accumulations to prevent damage to the power source
or possible fire.
l) Do not transport this machine while the power source is
running.
m) Stop the machine, and remove plug from the socket.
Make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete
stop
– whenever you leave the machine,
– before clearing blockages or unclogging chute,
– before checking, cleaning or working on the machine.
n) Do not tilt the machine while the power source is running.
●Maintenance and storage
a) When the machine is stopped for servicing, inspection,
or storage, or to change an accessory, shut offthe power
source, disconnect the machine from the supply and
make sure that all moving parts are come to a complete
stop. Allow the machine to cool before making any
inspections, adjustments, etc. Maintain the machine with
care and keep it clean.
b) Store the machine in a dry place out of the reach of
children.
c) Always allow the machine to cool before storing.
d) Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Use only
genuine replacement parts and accessories.
e) Never attempt to override the interlocked feature of the
guard.
PRECAUTIONS FOR CORDLESS
BLOWER
1. Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these
instructions to use the machine. Local regulations may
restrict the age of the operator.
2. The operator or user is responsible for accidents or
hazards occurring to other people or their property.
c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away
from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins,
keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects,
that can make a connection from one terminal to
another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause
burns or a fire.
d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected
from the battery; avoid contact. If contact
accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid
contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help.
Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or
burns.
6) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified
repair person using only identical replacement
parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
PRECAUTION
Keep children and infirm persons away.
When not in use, tools should be stored out of reach of
children and infirm persons.

Safe operation practices for hand-held garden blowers
●Training
a) Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the
controls and the correct use of the machine.
b) Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these
instructions to use the machine.
Local regulations can restrict the age of the operator.
c) Keep in mind, that the operator or user is responsible for
accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their
property.
●Preparation
a) Obtain ear protection and safety glasses. Wear them at
all times while operating the machine.
b) While operating the machine always wear substantial
footwear and long trousers. Do not operate the machine
when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Avoid wearing
clothing that is loose fitting or that has hanging cords or
ties.
c) Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery that can be drawn
into the air inlet. Keep long hair away from the air inlets.
d) Operate the machine in a recommended position and
only on a firm, level surface.
e) Do not operate the machine on a paved or gravel surface
where ejected material could cause injury.
f) Before using, always visually inspect to see, that the
shredding means, shredding means bolts and other
fasteners are secure, the housing is undamaged and
that guards and screens are in place. Replace worn
or damaged components in sets to preserve balance.
Replace damaged or unreadable labels.
g) Before use, check the supply and extension cord for
signs of damage or aging. If the cord becomes damaged
during use, disconnect the cord from the supply
immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE
DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY. Do not use the
machine if the cord is damaged or worn.
h) Never operate the machine while people, especially
children, or pets are nearby.

3. Do not put your hands or face near the cordless blower
opening during use.
Doing so might lead to injuries.
4. Remove this unit a safe distance away from electrical
conductors when cleaning sections carrying electrical
power such as the electrical panel.
5. Do not block the cordless blower blast port or air intake.
Blocking the cordless blower blast port or air intake will
cause an abnormal increase in the motor's RPM and
might damage the vanes on the inner section of the unit
or cause injuries. The motor might also overheat and
cause a fire.
6. Do not use when your field of vision is limited, such as at
night or in bad weather. Similarly, do not use during rain
or on wet ground, such as after a rain.
The footing at such times is poor and may cause you to
lose your balance and have an accident.
7. Do not use in locations where inflammable materials
such as lacquer, paint, benzene, thinner or gasoline are
present. Also do not let items such as lighted cigarette
butts be suctioned inside at such locations.
Explosion or fires might result.
8. Do not use in environments subject to heavy doses of
chemicals, etc.
Plastic sections such as the fan on the inner section
of the unit might weaken and break, and injuries might
occur.
9. If you notice the unit is operating poorly or making
abnormal noises, immediately stop using and shut off
the power switch. Request an inspection and repair from
the dealer where you purchased the unit or a HiKOKI
Authorized Service Center.
Continuing to use while operating abnormally might
cause injuries.
10. If the unit is mistakenly dropped or strikes another object,
make a thorough check of the unit for cracks, breakage
or deformation, etc.
Injuries might occur if the unit has cracks, breakage or
deformation.
11. Do not use near objects generating high heat such as
stoves.
Fires might occur if used near such locations.
12. Make a thorough inspection if using the cordless blower
to blow or clean viscous powder or dust particles.
Powder or dust particles might be suctioned in and
adhere internally, causing the fan to break or injuries to
occur.
13. Do not leave on locations such as benches or floors
while still rotating.
Injuries might occur.
14. While operating the machine, always wear substantial
footwear and long trousers.
15. Dust produced while using the machine may be harmful
to your health. When a lot of dust is produced during use,
wear a dust mask.
16. Do not take your eyes offof the tip of the extension
nozzle or the blast port as you move forward slowly.
Never work in a backward direction. Doing so may result
in falling down.
17. Never allow anyone to approach the operator of the
machine closer than 5 meters, so they are not hit by
flying objects. Similarly, always maintain this distance
from other objects, such as cars or windows, so they are
not damaged by flying objects.
18. Never point toward people or animals. The machine
blows small objects at a high velocity and can cause
injury.
19. Never operate from an unstable footing, such as when
on a ladder or step ladder.
Doing so may cause an injury.
20. Precautions during transport
• Release the switch on the body of the machine and
remove the battery.
• Carry the machine by the handle on its body.
• When transporting it via vehicle, take appropriate steps
to prevent it from falling over or being damaged.
21. Be careful of your footing while working when it is
slippery, such as in wet areas, in the snow or ice, and on
slopes or irregular surfaces.
22. Take note that when working in dry conditions with lots
of fine particles, it may build up static electricity and
discharge unexpectedly.
23. Walk, never run.
24. Operate the machine only at reasonable hours - not
early in the morning or late at night when people might
be disturbed.
25. Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing.
26. Slightly dampen surfaces in dusty conditions or use
mister attachment.
27. Use the extension nozzle so the air stream can work
close to the ground.
28. Store the machine only in a dry place.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety. (7.12 IEC 60335-1:2010)
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance. (7.12 IEC 60335-1:2010)
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children without supervision. (7.12

29. Do not use the product if the tool or the battery terminals
(battery mount) are deformed.
Installing the battery could cause a short circuit that
could result in smoke emission or ignition.
30. Keep the tool’s terminals (battery mount) free of swarf
and dust.
○Prior to use, make sure that swarf and dust have not
collected in the area of the terminals.
○During use, try to avoid swarf or dust on the tool from
falling on the battery.
○When suspending operation or after use, do not leave
the tool in an area where it may be exposed to falling
swarf or dust.
Doing so could cause a short circuit that could result in
smoke emission or ignition.

WARNING
In order to prevent any battery leakage, heat generation,
smoke emission, explosion and ignition beforehand, please
be sure to heed the following precautions.
1. Make sure that swarf and dust do not collect on the
battery.
○During work make sure that swarf and dust do not fall on
the battery.
○Make sure that any swarf and dust falling on the power
tool during work do not collect on the battery.
○Do not store an unused battery in a location exposed to
swarf and dust.
○Before storing a battery, remove any swarf and dust that
may adhere to it and do not store it together with metal
parts (screws, nails, etc.).
2. Do not pierce battery with a sharp object such as a
nail, strike with a hammer, step on, throw or subject the
battery to severe physical shock.
3. Do not use an apparently damaged or deformed battery.
4. Do not use the battery in reverse polarity.
5. Do not connect directly to an electrical outlets or car
cigarette lighter sockets.
6. Do not use the battery for a purpose other than those
specified.
7. If the battery charging fails to complete even when a
specified recharging time has elapsed, immediately stop
further recharging.
8. Do not put or subject the battery to high temperatures or
high pressure such as into a microwave oven, dryer, or
high pressure container.
9. Keep away from fire immediately when leakage or foul
odor are detected.
10. Do not use in a location where strong static electricity
generates.
11. If there is battery leakage, foul odor, heat generated,
discolored or deformed, or in any way appears abnormal
during use, recharging or storage, immediately remove it
from the equipment or battery charger, and stop use.
12. Do not immerse the battery or allow any fluids to flow
inside. Conductive liquid ingress, such as water, can
cause damage resulting in fire or explosion. Store your
battery in a cool, dry place, away from combustible and
flammable items. Corrosive gas atmospheres must be
avoided.
CAUTION
1. If liquid leaking from the battery gets into your eyes,
do not rub your eyes and wash them well with fresh
clean water such as tap water and contact a doctor
immediately.
If left untreated, the liquid may cause eye-problems.
2. If liquid leaks onto your skin or clothes, wash well with
clean water such as tap water immediately.
There is a possibility that this can cause skin irritation.
3. If you find rust, foul odor, overheating, discolor,
deformation, and/or other irregularities when using the
battery for the first time, do not use and return it to your
supplier or vendor.
WARNING
If an electrically conductive foreign object enters the
terminals of the lithium ion battery, a short-circuit may occur
resulting in the risk of fire. Please observe the following
matters when storing the battery.
○Do not place electrically conductive cuttings, nails,
steel wire, copper wire or other wire in the storage
case.
○Either install the battery in the power tool or store
by securely pressing into the battery cover until the
ventilation holes are concealed to prevent short-
circuits. (See Fig. 2)
○Be careful about working in confined spaces or blowing
into the wind to avoid flying objects coming back and
hitting you.
○Do not get closer than 5 meters from others. And when 2
or more people are working, keep a distance of at least 5
meters from each other.
○When attaching or removing the extension nozzle
always release the switch and remove the battery from
the blower to prevent an accident.
○Keep the air intake away from your body as it may suck
your work clothes against the air intake.
CAUTION
○Mount the battery securely to the blower.
If it is not mounted securely, it may fall offand cause an
injury.
○If something gets in the air intake, causing the blower to
stop, release the switch immediately, then remove the
battery before trying to dislodge the foreign object.
PRECAUTIONS FOR BATTERY AND
CHARGER
1. Always charge the battery at an ambient temperature of
-10–40°C. A temperature of less than -10°C will result in
over charging which is dangerous. The battery cannot be
charged at a temperature greater than 40°C.
The most suitable temperature for charging is that of
20–25°C.
2. Do not use the charger continuously.
When one charging is completed, leave the charger for
about 15 minutes before the next charging of battery.
3. Do not allow foreign matter to enter the hole for
connecting the rechargeable battery.
4. Never disassemble the rechargeable battery or charger.
5. Never short-circuit the rechargeable battery.
Short-circuiting the battery will cause a great electric
current and overheat. It results in burn or damage to the
battery.
6. Do not dispose of the battery in fire.
If the battery is burnt, it may explode.
7. Using an exhausted battery will damage the charger.
8. Bring the battery to the shop from which it was purchased
as soon as the post-charging battery life becomes too
short for practical use. Do not dispose of the exhausted
battery.
9. Do not insert objects into the air ventilation slots of the
charger.
Inserting metal objects or flammable into the charger air
ventilation slots will result in an electrical shock hazard or
damage to the charger.
CAUTION ON LITHIUM-ION BATTERY
To extend the lifetime, the lithium-ion battery equips with the
protection function to stop the output.
In the cases of 1 to 3 described below, when using this
product, even if you are pulling the switch, the motor may stop.
This is not the trouble but the result of protection function.
1. When the battery power remaining runs out, the motor
stops.
In such case, charge it up immediately.
2. If the tool is overloaded, the motor may stop. In this
case, release the switch of tool and eliminate causes of
overloading. After that, you can use it again.
3. If the battery is overheated under overload work, the
battery power may stop.
In this case, stop using the battery and let the battery
cool. After that, you can use it again.
Furthermore, please heed the following warning and caution.

REGARDING LITHIUM-ION BATTERY
TRANSPORTATION
When transporting a lithium-ion battery, please observe the
following precautions.
WARNING
Notify the transporting company that a package contains a
lithium-ion battery, inform the company of its power output
and follow the instructions of the transportation company
when arranging transport.
○Lithium-ion batteries that exceed a power output of
100Wh are considered to be in the freight classification
of Dangerous Goods and will require special application
procedures.
○For transportation abroad, you must comply with
international law and the rules and regulations of the
destination country.

When an unexpected problem occurs, the data in a USB
device connected to this product may be corrupted or lost.
Always make sure to back up any data contained in the USB
device prior to use with this product.
Please be aware that our company accepts absolutely no
responsibility for any data stored in a USB device that is
corrupted or lost, nor for any damage that may occur to a
connected device.
WARNING
○Prior to use, check the connecting USB cable for any
defect or damage.
Using a defective or damaged USB cable can cause
smoke emission or ignition.
○When the product is not being used, cover the USB port
with the rubber cover.
Buildup of dust etc. in the USB port can cause smoke
emission or ignition.
NOTE
○There may be an occasional pause during USB
recharging.
○When a USB device is not being charged, remove the
USB device from the charger.
Failure to do so may not only reduce the battery life
of a USB device, but may also result in unexpected
accidents.
○It may not be possible to charge some USB devices,
depending on the type of device.

When inserting a battery in the charger, the charge
indicator lamp will blink in blue.
When the battery becomes fully recharged, the charge
indicator lamp will light up in green. (See Table 1)

The indications of the charge indicator lamp will be as
shown in Table 1, according to the condition of the
charger or the rechargeable battery.
CHARGING
Before using the power tool, charge the battery as follows.
1. Connect the charger’s power cord to the receptacle.
When connecting the plug of the charger to a receptacle,
the charge indicator lamp will blink in red (At 1- second
intervals).
2. Insert the battery into the charger.
Firmly insert the battery into the charger as shown in
Fig. 3 (on page 2).
(2) Regarding the temperatures and charging time of the rechargeable battery
The temperatures and charging time will become as shown in Table 2.

4. Disconnect the charger’s power cord from the
receptacle.
5. Hold the charger firmly and pull out the battery.
NOTE
Be sure to pull out the battery from the charger after use,
and then keep it.
Regarding electric discharge in case of new
batteries, etc.
As the internal chemical substance of new batteries and
batteries that have not been used for an extended period
is not activated, the electric discharge might be low when
using them the first and second time. This is a temporary
phenomenon, and normal time required for recharging
will be restored by recharging the batteries 2 – 3 times.
How to make the batteries perform longer.
(1) Recharge the batteries before they become completely
exhausted.
When you feel that the power of the tool becomes
weaker, stop using the tool and recharge its battery. If
you continue to use the tool and exhaust the electric
current, the battery may be damaged and its life will
become shorter.
(2) Avoid recharging at high temperatures.
A rechargeable battery will be hot immediately after
use. If such a battery is recharged immediately after
use, its internal chemical substance will deteriorate, and
the battery life will be shortened. Leave the battery and
recharge it after it has cooled for a while.
CAUTION
○If the battery is charged while it is heated because
it has been left for a long time in a location subject to
direct sunlight or because the battery has just been
used, the charge indicator lamp of the charger lights
for 0.3 seconds, does not light for 0.3 seconds (offfor
0.3 seconds). In such a case, first let the battery cool,
then start charging.
○When the charge indicator lamp flickers (at 0.2-second
intervals), check for and take out any foreign objects in
the charger’s battery connector. If there are no foreign
objects, it is probable that the battery or charger is
malfunctioning. Take it to your authorized Service
Center.
○Since the built-in micro computer takes about
3 seconds to confirm that the battery being charged with
UC18YSL3 is taken out, wait for a minimum of 3 seconds
before reinserting it to continue charging. If the battery
is reinserted within 3 seconds, the battery may not be
properly charged.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
1. Inspecting the nose grill
Before and after use, check and make sure the nose
grill, which covers the air intake, is not damaged. If it
is damaged, contact your sales outlet or the HiKOKI
Authorized Service Center to have it repaired.
2. Inspecting the mounting screws
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that
they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be
loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so could
result in serious hazard.
3. Maintenance of the motor
The motor unit winding is the very “heart” of the power
tool.

Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not
become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.
4. Inspection of terminals (tool and battery)
Check to make sure that swarf and dust have not
collected on the terminals.
On occasion check prior, during and after operation.
CAUTION
Remove any swarf or dust which may have collected on
the terminals.
Failure to do so may result in malfunction.
5. Cleaning on the outside
When the coldless blower is stained, wipe with a
soft dry cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water.
Do not use chloric solvents, gasoline or paint thinner, for
they melt plastics.
If the nose grill is blocked with debris, the blower will
work less efficiently.
Clean it gently when necessary with a soft brush.
6. Storage
Store the coldless blower in a place in which the
temperature is less than 40°C and out of reach of
children.
NOTE
Storing lithium-ion batteries.
Make sure the lithium-ion batteries have been fully
charged before storing them.
Prolonged storage (3 months or more) of batteries with
a low charge may result in performance deterioration,
significantly reducing battery usage time or rendering
the batteries incapable of holding a charge.
However, significantly reduced battery usage time may
be recovered by repeatedly charging and using the
batteries two to five times.
If the battery usage time is extremely short despite
repeated charging and use, consider the batteries dead
and purchase new batteries.
CAUTION
In the operation and maintenance of power tools, the
safety regulations and standards prescribed in each
country must be observed.
Important notice on the batteries for the HiKOKI
cordless power tools
Please always use one of our designated genuine
batteries. We cannot guarantee the safety and
performance of our cordless power tool when used with
batteries other than these designated by us, or when
the battery is disassembled and modified (such as
disassembly and replacement of cells or other internal
parts).

Use the inspections in the table below if the tool does not operate normally. If this does not remedy the problem, consult
your dealer or the HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.

werden, kann es zu Stromschlag, Brand und/oder
ernsthaften Verletzungen kommen.

Der Begriff„Elektrowerkzeug“ bezieht sich in den
Warnhinweisen auf Elektrowerkzeuge mit Netz-
(schnurgebunden) oder Akkubetrieb (schnurlos).
1) Sicherheit im Arbeitsbereich
a) Sorgen Sie für einen sauberen und gut
ausgeleuchteten Arbeitsbereich.
Zugestellte oder dunkle Bereiche ziehen Unfälle
förmlich an.
b) Verwenden Sie Elektrowerkzeuge niemals an
Orten, an denen Explosionsgefahr besteht – zum

senken das Verletzungsrisiko bei angemessenem

c) Vermeiden Sie unbeabsichtigtes Einschalten.
Achten Sie darauf, dass sich der Schalter
in der Aus- (Off-) Position befindet, ehe Sie
das Gerät mit der Stromversorgung und/
oder Batteriestromversorgung verbinden, es
aufheben oder herumtragen.
Das Herumtragen von Elektrowerkzeugen mit
dem Finger am Schalter oder das Herstellen der
Stromversorgung bei betätigtem Schalter zieht
Unfälle regelrecht an.
d) Entfernen Sie sämtliche Einstellwerkzeuge
(Einstellschlüssel), ehe Sie das Elektrowerkzeug
einschalten.
Ein an einem beweglichen Teil des Elektrowerkzeugs
angebrachter Schlüssel kann zu Verletzungen
führen.
e) Sorgen Sie für einen festen Stand. Achten Sie
jederzeit darauf, sicher zu stehen und das
Gleichgewicht zu bewahren.
Dadurch haben Sie das Elektrowerkzeug in
unerwarteten Situationen besser im Griff.
f) Kleiden Sie sich richtig. Tragen Sie keine lose
Kleidung oder Schmuck. Halten Sie Haar,
Kleidung und Handschuhe von beweglichen
Teilen fern.
Lose Kleidung, Schmuck oder langes Haar kann von
beweglichen Teilen erfasst werden.
g) Wenn Anschlüsse für Staubabsaug- und
-sammelvorrichtungen vorhanden sind, sorgen
Sie dafür, dass diese richtig angeschlossen und
eingesetzt werden.
Durch Entfernen des Staubes können
staubbezogene Gefahren vermindert werden.
4) Einsatz und Pflege von Elektrowerkzeugen
a) Überanspruchen Sie Elektrowerkzeuge nicht.
Benutzen Sie das richtige Elektrowerkzeug für
Ihren Einsatzzweck.
Das richtige Elektrowerkzeug erledigt seine Arbeit
bei bestimmungsgemäßem Einsatz besser und
sicherer.
b)
Benutzen Sie das Elektrowerkzeug nicht, wenn es
sich nicht am Schalter ein- und ausschalten lässt.
Jedes Elektrowerkzeug, das nicht mit dem Schalter

Kontakt kommt, da diese Gegenstände einen
Kurzschluss der Anschlüsse verursachen

Ein Kurzschluss der Batterieanschlüsse kann zu
Verbrennungen oder Bränden führen.
d) Im Falle von Störungen, kann Flüssigkeit aus
der Batterie austreten. Vermeiden Sie in diesem
Fall jeglichen Kontakt. Sollten Sie dennoch mit
der Batterie in Berührung kommen, waschen
Sie die betroffene Stelle gründlich mit Wasser
ab. Ist die Flüssigkeit ins Auge geraten, suchen
Sie einen Arzt auf.
Ausgetretene Batterieflüssigkeiten können zu
Reizungen oder Verbrennungen führen.
6) Service
a) Lassen Sie Elektrowerkzeuge durch qualifizierte
Fachkräfte und unter Einsatz passender,
zugelassener Originalteile warten.
Dies sorgt dafür, dass die Sicherheit des

●Training
a) Lesen Sie die Anweisungen sorgfältig durch. Machen Sie
sich mit den Steuerungen und der ordnungsgemäßen
Verwendung der Maschine vertraut.
b) Erlauben Sie Kindern oder Personen, die diese
Anweisungen nicht kennen, niemals die Verwendung
der Maschine.
Örtliche Bestimmungen können das Alter des Bedieners
einschränken.
c) Beachten Sie, dass der Bediener oder Anwender für die
Unfälle oder Gefahren für andere Menschen oder deren
Eigentum verantwortlich ist.
●Vorbereitung
a) Setzen Sie einen Gehörschutz und eine Schutzbrille
auf. Tragen Sie sie jederzeit, während die Maschine in
Betrieb ist.
b) Tragen Sie während des Betriebs der Maschine stets
festes Schuhwerk und lange Hosen. Nehmen Sie die
Maschine nicht barfuß oder in offenen Sandalen in
Betrieb. Tragen Sie vorsichtshalber keine lose Kleidung
oder solche mit herabhängenden Schnüren oder
Krawatten.
c) Tragen Sie keine lose Kleidung oder Schmuckstücke,
die in den Lufteinlass eingezogen werden können.
Halten Sie lange Haare von den Lufteinlässen fern.
d) Nehmen Sie die Maschine in der empfohlenen Position
in Betrieb und nur auf einer festen, ebenen Fläche.
e) Nehmen Sie die Maschine nicht auf einer gepflasterten
oder Kiesfläche in Betrieb, wo herausgeschleudertes
Material eine Verletzung verursachen kann.
f) Kontrollieren Sie vor der Verwendung stets visuell,
ob der Schredder, die Schredderschrauben und die
anderen Halterungen sicher befestigt sind, das Gehäuse
nicht beschädigt ist und dass die Schutzvorrichtungen
und Abschirmungen an Ort und Stelle sind. Ersetzen
Sie verschlissene oder beschädigte Bauteile als Sätze,
um das Gleichgewicht zu bewahren. Ersetzen Sie
beschädigte oder unlesbare Hinweisschilder.
g) Prüfen Sie vor dem Gebrauch das Netz- und
Verlängerungskabel auf Anzeichen von Beschädigung
oder Alterung. Wenn das Kabel während des Betriebs
beschädigt wird, ziehen Sie sofort den Stecker aus
der Steckdose. BERÜHREN SIE DAS KABEL NICHT,
BEVOR DIE STROMZUFUHR GETRENNT IST.
Verwenden Sie die Maschine nicht, wenn das Kabel
beschädigt oder verschlissen ist.
h) Nehmen Sie die Maschine niemals in Betrieb, wenn
Menschen, insbesondere Kinder oder Haustiere in der
Nähe sind.
●Betrieb
a) Vergewissern Sie sich vor der Inbetriebnahme der
Maschine, dass die Zufuhrkammer leer ist.
b) Halten Sie Ihr Gesicht und Ihren Körper von der
Zufuhröffnung fern.
c) Halten Sie Ihre Hände oder alle anderen Körperteile
oder Kleidung nicht in das Innere der Zufuhrkammer,
den Auswurfschacht oder in die Nähe sämtlicher
beweglichen Teile.
d) Achten Sie jederzeit auf ausreichendes Gleichgewicht
und Ihren Halt. Überstrecken Sie sich nicht. Stellen Sie
sich niemals auf eine höhere Ebene als die Grundlinie
der Maschine, wenn Sie ihr Material zuführen.

e) Stellen Sie sich stets abseits der Auswurfzone auf, wenn
Sie die Maschine betreiben.
f) Wenn Sie der Maschine Material zuführen, achten Sie
sehr sorgfältig darauf, dass sich in ihm keine Metallteile,
keine Steine, Flaschen, Dosen oder andere Fremdkörper
befinden.
g) Wenn der Schneidemechanismus auf irgendwelche
Fremdkörper trifft oder wenn die Maschine beginnt,
irgendwelche ungewöhnlichen Geräusche oder
Schwingungen zu verursachen, schalten Sie sofort die
Stromquelle aus und lassen Sie die Maschine anhalten.
Trennen Sie die Maschine von der Stromversorgung ab
und befolgen Sie die folgenden Schritte, bevor Sie die
Maschine wieder starten und in Betrieb nehmen:
i) Kontrollieren Sie auf eine Beschädigung;
ii) Ersetzen oder reparieren Sie alle beschädigten
Bestandteile;
iii) Kontrollieren Sie auf lose Bestandteile und ziehen
Sie diese fest.
h) Achten Sie darauf, dass sich das verarbeitete Material
in der Auswurfzone nicht auftürmt; dies kann den
ordnungsgemäßen Auswurf verhindern und dazu
führen, dass das Material durch die Zufuhröffnung
wieder eingetragen wird.
i) Wenn die Maschine blockiert ist, schalten Sie die
Stromquelle aus und trennen Sie die Maschine von der
Stromquelle, bevor Sie die Ablagerungen entfernen.
j) Nehmen Sie die Maschine niemals mit defekten
Schutzvorrichtungen oder Abschirmungen oder ohne
Sicherheitseinrichtungen in Betrieb.
k) Halten Sie die Stromversorgung frei von Schmutz und
anderen Ablagerungen, um die Beschädigung der
Stromquelle oder ein mögliches Feuer zu vermeiden.
l) Transportieren Sie diese Maschine nicht, während die
Stromquelle angeschlossen ist.
m) Halten Sie die Maschine an und ziehen Sie den Stecker
aus der Steckdose. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass alle
beweglichen Teile vollständig angehalten haben
– immer wenn Sie die Maschine verlassen,
– bevor Sie die Blockierungen entfernen oder den
Schacht freimachen,
– bevor Sie die Maschine kontrollieren, reinigen oder

n) Kippen Sie die Maschine nicht, während die Stromquelle

●Instandhaltung und Aufbewahrung

werden soll, schalten Sie die Stromquelle aus, trennen

Sie sich, dass alle beweglichen Teile vollständig

und halten Sie sie sauber.

VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN FÜR DAS
AKKU-GEBLÄSE
1. Erlauben Sie Kindern oder Personen, die mit dieser
Gebrauchsanleitung nicht vertraut sind, nie die
Benutzung des Gerätes. Örtliche Bestimmungen können
ein Mindestalter für den Bediener vorschreiben.
2. Der Bediener bzw. Benutzer haftet für Unfälle oder
Gefahren, die für andere Personen oder ihr Eigentum
entstehen.
3. Gesicht und Hände während des Betriebes von der
Öffnung des Akku-Gebläses fernhalten.
Anderenfalls können Verletzungen auftreten.
4. Bei der Reinigung von stromführenden Geräten
wie Verteilerkästen einen Sicherheitsabstand zu
elektrischen Leitern einhalten.
5. Die Gebläseöffnung oder die Luftansaugöffnung des
Akku-Gebläses darf nicht verlegt werden.
Ein Verlegen der Gebläseöffnung oder der
Luftansaugöffnung verursacht einen abnormalen
Anstieg der Drehzahl und könnte die Flügelräder im
Inneren des Gerätes beschädigen, oder Verletzungen
verursachen. Auch könnte sich der Motor überhitzen
und einen Brand verursachen.
6. Das Gerät nicht benutzen, wenn Ihr Sichtfeld begrenzt
ist, wie etwa nachts oder bei schlechtem Wetter. Ebenso
sollten Sie es nicht bei Regen oder auf feuchtem Boden,
wie etwa nach einem Regen, benutzen.
Dabei hat man einen schlechten Stand und Sie könnten
das Gleichgewicht verlieren und einen Unfall erleiden.
7. Das Gerät nicht an Orten verwenden, an denen
entzündliche Stoffe wie Lack, Farbe, Benzol, Verdünner
oder Benzin vorhanden sind. Vermeiden Sie außerdem,
dass an solchen Orten Gegenstände wie brennende
Zigaretten aufgesaugt werden.
Anderenfalls können Explosionen oder Feuer auftreten.
8. Das Gerät nicht in Umgebungen verwenden, in denen
Chemikalien oder ähnliche Stoffe in hoher Konzentration
vorhanden sind.
Kunststoffteile wie etwa das Gebläse im Inneren
Abschnitt des Gerätes könnten schwach werden und
brechen, was zu Verletzungen führen könnte.
9. Bei Auftreten eines Leistungsabfalls oder ungewöhnlicher
Geräusche des Geräts, die Benutzung unverzüglich
unterbrechen und den Netzschalter ausschalten.
Verlangen Sie bei dem Händler, bei dem Sie das Gerät
erworben haben oder einem autorisierten HiKOKI-
Kundendienstzentrum eine Überprüfung und Reparatur.
Eine weitere Verwendung bei abnormem Betrieb kann
Verletzungen zur Folge haben.
10. Bei versehentlichem Fallenlassen oder Anstoßen des
Geräts ist es sorgfältig auf Risse, Bruchstellen oder
Verformungen etc. zu überprüfen.

und innen haften bleiben, wodurch das Gebläse brechen
und Verletzungen verursachen könnte.
13. Das Gerät nicht auf Gegenstände wie Bänke oder den
Boden legen, während es noch rotiert.
Anderenfalls könnten Verletzungen auftreten.
14. Tragen Sie bei der Benutzung des Gerätes immer festes
Schuhwerk und lange Hosen.
15. Bei der Benutzung der Maschine erzeugter Staub
kann Ihre Gesundheit gefährden. Wenn bei der
Benutzung sehr viel Staub erzeugt wird, tragen Sie eine
Staubmaske.
16. Lassen Sie die Spitze der Verlängerungsdüse oder
die Gebläseöffnung nicht aus den Augen, während
Sie sich langsam vorwärts bewegen. Arbeiten Sie nie
nach rückwärts gehend.Wenn Sie das tun, könnten Sie
stürzen.

17. Lassen Sie nie jemanden näher als 5 Meter an den
Bediener der Maschine heran kommen, so dass die
Person nicht von fliegenden Gegenständen getroffen
werden kann. Halten Sie ebenso immer diesen
Abstand zu anderen Gegenständen wie etwa Autos
oder Fenstern, so dass diese nicht von fliegenden
Gegenständen beschädigt werden können.
18. Zielen Sie nie auf Menschen oder Tiere. Die Maschine
bläst kleine Gegenstände mit hoher Geschwindigkeit
und kann Verletzungen verursachen.
19. Betreiben Sie das Gerät nie von einem unsicheren Stand
aus, etwa auf einer Leiter oder einer Stufenleiter.
Das könnte zu Verletzungen führen.
20. Vorsichtsmaßnahmen beim Transport
• Den Schalter am Körper der Maschine freigeben und die
Batterie herausnehmen.
• Die Maschine am Griffauf ihrem Körper tragen.

21. Achten Sie auf Ihren Stand bei der Arbeit auf rutschigem
Boden wie etwa nassen Stellen, auf Schnee oder Eis,
sowie auf Abhängen oder unebenen Flächen.
22. Beachten Sie, dass sich bei der Arbeit unter trockenen
Bedingungen mit sehr vielen Partikeln statische
Elektrizität aufbauen und unerwartet entladen kann.
23. Gehen Sie, laufen Sie nie.
24. Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur zu zumutbaren Tageszeiten,
- nicht frühmorgens oder spät nachts, wenn andere
dadurch gestört werden könnten.
25. Benutzen Sie vor dem Blasen Kratzeisen und Besen, um
Ablagerungen zu lösen.
26. Befeuchten Sie in einer staubigen Umgebung die
Flächen leicht, oder benutzen Sie einen Sprühaufsatz.
27. Verwenden Sie die Verlängerungsdüse, sodass der
Luftstrom nahe am Boden einwirken kann.
28. Lagern Sie das Gerät nur an einem trockenen Ort.

○Die Luftansaugöffnung immer von Ihrem Körper
weg halten, da sonst Ihre Arbeitskleidung von der
Ansaugöffnung angesaugt werden könnte.
ACHTUNG
○Montieren Sie die Batterie sicher am Gebläse.
Wenn sie nicht sicher montiert ist, kann sie herunter
fallen und eine Verletzung verursachen.
○Falls etwas in die Ansaugöffnung geraten sollte und das
Gebläse dadurch gestoppt wird, den Schalter sofort
loslassen, dann die Batterie entfernen und erst dann
versuchen, den Fremdkörper heraus zu holen.
VORSICHTSMASSNAHMEN FÜR
AKKU UND LADEGERÄT
1. Den Akku immer bei einer Temperatur von -10–40°C
laden.Temperaturen von unter -10°C haben eine
gefährliche Überladung zur Folge. Der Akku darf nicht
bei Temperaturen von über 40°C geladen werden.
Die ideale Ladetemperatur beträgt 20–25°C.
2. Das Ladegerät ist nicht für Dauerbetrieb konzipiert.
Nach Beendigung eines Ladevorgangs das Ladegerät
ca. 15 Minuten ruhen lassen, bevor mit dem nächsten
Ladevorgang begonnen wird.
3. Darauf achten, dass keine Fremdkörper durch das
Anschlussloch des Akkus eindringen.
4. Niemals den Akku oder das Ladegerät zerlegen.
5. Niemals den Akku kurzschließen.
Ein Kurzschließen des Akkus verursacht hohe
Stromstärken und Überhitzung. Das kann zu
Verbrennungen und zu Schäden am Akku führen.
6. Den Akku nicht ins Feuer werfen.
Er könnte dabei explodieren.
7. Das Benutzen eines erschöpften Akkus beschädigt das
Ladegerät.

8. Bringen Sie den Akku zu dem Geschäft, in dem Sie ihn
erworben haben, sobald seine Lebensdauer zur Neige
geht. Erschöpfte Akkus nicht wegwerfen.
9. Schieben Sie keine Gegenstände durch die
Belüftungsschlitze des Ladegeräts.
Wenn Metallobjekte oder entzündliche Gegenstände
durch die Belüftungsschlitze des Ladegeräts
eindringen, kann dies zu elektrischen Schlägen führen
oder das Ladegerät beschädigen.
WARNUNG ZUM LITHIUM-IONEN-
AKKU
Um die Lebensdauer des Lithium-Ionen-Akkus zu
verlängern, ist dieser mit einer Schutzfunktion zum Stoppen
der Leistungsabgabe ausgestattet.
In den unten beschriebenen Fällen 1 bis 3 kann bei der
Benutzung dieses Produkts der Motor abschalten, selbst
wenn Sie den Schalter drücken. Dies ist kein Defekt sondern
das Resultat der Schutzfunktion.
1. Wenn die verbleibende Akkuleistung nicht mehr
ausreicht, schaltet der Motor ab.
Laden Sie in einem solchen Fall den Akku umgehend
auf.
2. Wenn das Werkzeug überlastet ist, kann es zum
Abschalten des Motors kommen. Lassen Sie in diesem
Fall den Schalter des Geräts los und beseitigen Sie die
Ursache der Überlastung. Danach können Sie das Gerät
wieder verwenden.
3. Kommt es während des Betriebs zu einer Erhitzung der
Batterie, wird das Gerät unter Umständen angehalten.
Unterbrechen Sie in diesem Fall Ihre Arbeit und lassen
Sie die Batterie abkühlen. Anschließend können Sie das
Gerät wieder normal verwenden.
Bitte beachten Sie die folgenden Warnhinweise.
WARNUNG
Zur Vermeidung einer ausgelaufenen Batterie, Erwärmung,
Rauchentwicklung, Explosionen und vorzeitiger Zündung
beachten Sie bitte die folgenden Vorsichtsmaßnahmen.
1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich Späne und Staub nicht auf
der Batterie ansammeln.
○Stellen Sie während der Arbeit sicher, dass Späne und
Staub nicht auf die Batterie fallen.
○Stellen Sie sicher, dass Staub und Späne, die während
der Bearbeitung auf das Elektrowerkzeug fallen, nicht in
die Batterie gelangen.
○Lagern Sie ungebrauchte Batterien nicht an Plätzen, an
denen Staub oder Späne anfallen.
○Vor dem Einlagern einer Batterie sind sämtlicher Staub und
Späne zu entfernen. Weiterhin ist zu berücksichtigen, dass
die Batterie nicht gemeinsam mit Metallteilen (Schrauben,
Nägel, usw.) zu lagern ist.
2. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Batterie nicht durch einen
spitzen Gegenstand, beispielsweise einen Nagel,
beschädigt wird. Vermeiden Sie Schläge mit dem
Hammer. Treten Sie nicht gegen die Batterie, werfen Sie
diese nicht, und vermeiden Sie Stöße.
3. Beschädigte oder verformte Batterien dürfen nicht weiter
verwendet werden.
4. Achten Sie auf den richtigen Anschluss der Pole.
5. Schließen Sie die Batterie nicht direkt an elektrische
Ausgänge oder Zigarettenanzünder im Auto an.
6. Verwenden Sie die Batterie nur für den angegebenen
Zweck.
7. Falls die Batterie nach Verstreichen der angegebenen
Ladezeit nicht vollständig aufgeladen ist, brechen Sie
den Ladevorgang unverzüglich ab.
8. Vermeiden Sie hohe Temperaturen und hohen Druck,
wie er beispielsweise in der Mikrowelle, einem Trockner
oder einem Hochdruckbehälter auftritt.
9. Wenn Sie ein Leck oder Rußgeruch feststellen,
vermeiden Sie jeglichen Kontakt mit Feuerstellen.
10. Vermeiden Sie eine Verwendung an Orten, an denen
starke statische Elektrizität erzeugt wird.
11. Werden ein Leck, Rußgeruch, Erwärmung, Verfärbungen,
Verformungen oder sonstige Anomalitäten während der
Verwendung,desAufladensoder der Lagerungfestgestellt,
entfernen Sie die Batterie unverzüglich vom Gerät oder
dem Ladegerät und beenden Sie die Anwendung.
12. Tauchen Sie den Akku nicht ins Wasser und lassen
Sie keine Flüssigkeiten ins Innere gelangen. Leitfähige
Flüssigkeiten, wie z. B. Wasser, können Schäden
verursachen, die zu einem Brand oder einer Explosion
führen. Lagern Sie Ihren Akku an einem kühlen,
trockenen Ort, fern von brennbaren und entzündlichen
Gegenständen. Korrosive Gase in der Atmosphäre
müssen gemieden werden.
VORSICHT
1. Tritt die auslaufende Flüssigkeit in Kontakt mit Ihren
Augen, reiben Sie diese nicht, sondern waschen Sie sie
mit sauberem (Leitungs-) Wasser gut aus und suchen
Sie unverzüglich einen Arzt auf.
Ohne sachgemäße Behandlung können
Augenverletzungen auftreten.
2. Wenn die ausgelaufene Flüssigkeit auf Haut oder
Kleidung trifft, waschen Sie diese unverzüglich mit
sauberem Wasser ab.
Es besteht die Gefahr von Hautreizungen.
3. Beim Auftreten von Rost, Rußgeruch, Erwärmung,
Verfärbungen, Verformungen oder sonstigen
Anomalitäten während der ersten Verwendung der
Batterie, ist diese nicht weiter zu verwenden. Bringen
Sie die Batterie zum Händler oder Verkäufer zurück.
WARNUNG
Wenn ein elektrischer Fremdkörper an die Anschlüsse des
Lithium-Ionen-Akkus gelangt, kann es zu einem Kurzschluss
und der Gefahr eines Feuers kommen. Beachten Sie
folgende Vorsichtsmaßnahmen bei der Aufbewahrung des
Akkus.
○Legen Sie keine elektrisch leitenden Späne, Nägel,
Stahldraht, Kupferdraht oder anderen Draht in den
Aufbewahrungskoffer.
○Setzen Sie den Akku entweder in das Gerät
ein oder lagern Sie ihn, um Kurzschlüsse zu
vermeiden, indem Sie ihn in die Batterieabdeckung
hineindrücken, bis die Belüftungslöcher verdeckt
sind. (Siehe Abb. 2)
BEZÜGLICH DES TRANSPORTS VON
LITHIUM-IONEN-BATTERIEN
Beim Transport von Lithium-Ionen-Batterien beachten Sie
bitte die folgenden Vorsichtsmaßnahmen.
WARNUNG
Weisen Sie die Transportfirma darauf hin, dass ein Paket
eine Lithium-Ionen-Batterie enthält, informieren Sie das
Unternehmen über ihre Leistungsabgabe und befolgen
Sie die Anweisungen der Transportfirma, wenn Sie den
Transport in die Wege leiten.
○Lithium-Ionen-Batterien, die eine Leistungsabgabe von
100 Wh überschreiten, werden in der Einstufung des
Frachtguts als Gefahrgüter angesehen und erfordern
spezielle Anwendungsverfahren.
○Für den Transport über Straßen müssen die
internationalen Gesetze und die Regeln und Vorschriften
des Bestimmungslands eingehalten werden.
