ersten Aufbau Deines Zeltes gründlich durchzulesen und den Aufbau zu üben,
bevor Du mit Deinem neuen Zelt die erste Tour unternimmst.
Saitaris ist ein innovatives, geräumiges, selbsttragendesZelt für härteste Bedin-
gungen. Die Instruktionen in diesem Heft sind für schlechtes Wetter gedacht.
Wir empfehlen, diesen Arbeitsgang einzustudieren und zu befolgen. Bei gutem
Wetter ist dieser Arbeitsgang nicht so bedeutend, es ist jedoch ratsam, sich Aufbau-
Routinen zu schaffen um für Wetterumstürze gerüstet zu sein.

achtung! Das Zelt besitzt 28 Ansatzpunkte für die Heringe. Das Zelt ist selbst-
tragend, die Apsiden benötigen nur 4 Heringe. Wir empfehlen trotzdem, dass Du
alle Heringe verwendest und den Gebrauch der Zeltleinen zur normalen Routine
machst, da das Wetter immer unberechenbar ist.

Du har investerat i ett högkvalitetstält, så tag väl hand om det. Vi rekommenderar
att du läser instruktionshäftet noggrant innan du sätter upp ditt tält och att du
tränar ordentligt på att sätta upp och ta ner det innan du går ut på din första tur.
Saitaris är ett innovativt, rymligt, stabilt och självstagande tält för de mest extrema
förhållanden. Instruktionerna i detta häfte utgår ifrån hantering av tältet i
dåligt väder och vi rekommenderar att du alltid följer denna arbetsgång. Vid
vackert väder är det inte nödvändigt att följa denna arbetsgång, men det är bra
att skapa rutiner för användning om vädret slår om.

obs: Det finns 28 fästpunkter för markpinnar. Tältet är självstagande och man kan

You have invested in a truly high-end, high quality tent, so take care of your invest-
ment. We strongly recommend that you read these instructions completely before
setting up your tent, and that you practice setting up your tent at home before
taking it on a backcountry trip.
The Saitaris is an innovative, roomy self-supporting tent built for the most extreme
conditions. Please note that these instructions are based on pitching the tent in
severe weather, and we recommend that you practice this method so you are
comfortable with it. In less demanding conditions, following this method is not as
crucial, but it is good idea to create routines for use in case the weather changes.
What’s Included with the Saitaris
One outer tent in Kerlon 1800 connected to one inner tent; 16 attached guy lines
with line runners; five 10 mm poles, 4 x 431 cm and 1 x 287 cm; 28 pegs; stuff
bags for tent, poles and pegs; one spare pole section; one pole repair sleeve;
and an instruction booklet.
note: There are 28 possible peg points on the Saitaris. The tent itself is self-
supporting, and the vestibules require just four pegs. However, we recommend that
you carry and use the others, and that you make guy line use part of your normal
routine, since weather in the backcountry is always unpredictable!

3Die Suche eines geeigneten Zeltplatzes
1& 2Wähle einen Platz, der möglichst windgeschützt, eben und frei von
Gegenständen ist, die Dein Zelt beschädigen könnten. Ein leicht konvexer Platz
ergibt bessere Spannung und minimiert Nässeansammlung unter dem Zelt. Im
Winter kann man die Fläche mit Skiern flachtreten um eine stabile Basis zu
erhalten. achtung: Steige nie auf das Zelt, scharfe Gegenstände können das
Zeltmaterial beschädigen.
Wichtig beim Aufbau vom Saitaris
Die kleinere Apsis gegen den Wind verankern, dann das Zelt mit allen Heringen
ordentlich sichern, danach die Stangen einsetzen. 3Es ist eine gute Gewohnheit,
das Zelt immer in kniender Position aufzubauen.
Att välja tältplats
1& 2Välj en så vindskyddad och jämn plats som möjligt, och fri från sådant
som kan skada ditt tält. En konvex yta ger bättre spänning och minskar risken för
vatten under tältet. Vintertid kan man packa och jämna till underlaget med sina
skidor och låta snön frysa ihop en stund för att skapa en jämn och stabil bas för
tältet. obs: Kliv aldrig på tältet då eventuella vassa föremål kan skada tältväven.
Viktigt om uppsättning av Saitaris
Tältet ska resas med den lilla absiden mot vinden. Uppsättningsförfarandet bygger
på att ordentligt förankra tältet i marken för att sedan sätta i tältstängerna. 3Ta
för vana att alltid arbeta knästående vid uppsättningen.
Choosing a tent site
1& 2Find a spot that is as protected as possible from the wind, and that is
even, level and free of anything that might damage your tent. A slightly convex site
will create better stretch in the pitching and minimize moisture collecting under
the tent. In winter, pack down and even out the snow to create an even, stable
base. note: never step on the tent, as sharp items can damage the tent fabric.
A note about pitching the Saitaris
The Saitaris should be pitched with the smaller vestibule into the wind. The pitching
sequence shown here starts with pegging down the tent before inserting the poles,
as this is the most secure method. 3Especially in windy conditions, it is a good idea
to work while kneeling to minimize the wind’s effect on the partially set up tent.

Wichtig bei Benützung von Gestänge und Heringen
1– 3Unsere Gestänge sind die besten, die am Markt erhältlich sind. Sie sind auf
Leichtigkeit konzipiert und müssen korrekt gehandhabt werden Bei unsachgemäßer
Anwendung können sie brechen und Deine Sicherheit gefährden. Wirf nie das
Gestänge zum Zusammenbauen aus, es könnten dadurch Risse oder andere
Schäden entstehen. Entfalte jede Stange und setze ein Segment nach dem anderen
zusammen. Achte darauf, dass die Teile beim Aufbau nicht auseinanderrutschen, die
dadurch entstehende Spalte könnte einen Stangenbruch verursachen.
4Presse alle Heringe komplett in einem Winkel von ca 45 Grad in den Boden.
Sollte dies nicht möglich sein, ist ein flacherer Winkel besser als dass ein Teil des
Herings nicht im Boden steckt. 5& 6Benütze einen harten Gegenstand wenn
es schwierig ist, den Hering ganz in den Boden zu schlagen.
Viktigt om hantering av stänger och markpinnar
1– 3Våra tältstänger är av högsta kvalitet, men de är en lättviktsprodukt som
kräver korrekt hantering annars kan stången knäckas och i värsta fall leda till
fara. Kasta aldrig ut en stång för ihopsättning eftersom stångdelarna kan få
sprickor eller andra skador när de slår ihop. Vik ut och sätt ihop en sektion i
taget. Se till att delarna går ihop ordentligt och att de inte glider isär eftersom en
glipa kan orsaka stångbrott.
4Markpinnarna ska tryckas ner helt och hållet i 45 graders vinkel. Om det ej går
att få ner pinnen i rätt vinkel är det bättre att använda en flackare vinkel än att låta
en del av pinnen sticka upp ur marken. 5& 6Om det är svårt att få ner pinnen,
använd ett hårt föremål för att pressa eller slå ner pinnen.
Important note about pole and peg usage
1– 3Our tent poles are the best available, but they are still lightweight alumi-
num. Incorrectly handled, a pole can break, which could be potentially dangerous.
Never extend a pole by flinging it open, since the sections hitting each other
can cause damage. Unfold each pole carefully, seat each section into place, and
ensure that pole sections do not pull apart during pitching, as the resulting gaps
can lead to breakage.
4Press in all pegs completely at about a 45° angle to the surface of the ground. It
is better to use a shallower angle (closer to parallel to the surface) than it is to leave
a peg sticking up from the ground. 5& 6If it is hard to get the pegs in, use a rock
or other hard object to press – or if necessary, to lightly hammer – them in fully.

6Auslegen und Sichern des Zeltes
1& 2Ziehe das Zelt aus dem Sack und befestige eine Zeltleine am Rucksack
oder einem anderen festen Gegenstand. Nimm die Stangen heraus und verstaue
alle Beutel, damit sie nicht davonfliegen.
3& 4Die Spannbänder der Apsiden sollen in der längsten Position eingestellt
sein. Verankere zuerst die kleine, dann die verlängerte Apsis ohne das Zelt zu
spannen. Siehe Seite 7 Setzen der Heringe.
5& 6Kontrolliere dass die Zeltleinen in der längsten Position eingestellt sind
und verankere sie provisorisch mit den Heringen. Dies verhindert, dass sich die
Leinen verwickeln. Sie sollen aber nicht zu straff gespannt sein, das würde die
Stangenmontage erschweren.
Lägg ut och fäst tältet
1& 2Tag ut tältet ur tältpåsen och fäst en av staglinorna i din ryggsäck eller
motsvarande. Lägg ur stängerna och stoppa undan alla påsar så att de inte blåser
bort.
3& 4Se till att absidens markpinnefästen är förlängda. Förankra sedan tältets
lilla absid och sedan den stora absidens fästen utan att sträcka tältet för mycket.
Se sidan 7 för användning av markpinnar.
5& 6Se till att samtliga staglinor är i sitt längsta läge och fäst dem provisoriskt
med markpinnar. De utgör ett bra stöd under uppsättningen och samtidigt förhin-
dras att linorna trasslar. De skall dock inte vara spända då det försvårar montering
av stängerna.
Layout and secure the tent
1& 2Pull the tent from the bag and secure the guy line on one of the vestibules
to a pack or similar heavy object. Lay out the poles, and put the tent and pole bag
in your pocket or pack so they do not blow away during set up.
3& 4Lay out the tent and ensure the peg tensioners are set to their longest.
Peg the small vestibule end first, and make sure both ends are pegged securely,
but not too tight. Refer to page 7 for pegging.
5& 6Make sure that all guy lines are set to their longest setting and peg them
down temporarily. This provides extra support during pitching and helps prevent
the guy lines from tangling. Do not make them too tight, or they will interfere
with inserting the poles.

Aufbau: Einsetzen der Stangen
achtung! Folgende Aufbaubeschreibung eignet sich bei hartem Wetter. Bei gutem
Wetter beginne mit den Stangen in Längsrichtung ( 2 + 3 auf der Skizze), setze
dann mit den Seitenstangen fort. (1 + 4 auf der Skizze).
1– 3Schiebe eine Stange halbwegs in den Stangenkanal der kleinen Apsis (1
auf der Skizze), halte die Stange während Du den Kanal über die Stange ziehst bis
die Spitze am Ende des Kanals anschlägt
4– 6Setze nun das freie Stangenende in den Kunststoffhalter und befestige
die Haken an der Stange. Die Stangenspanner so straffen, dass sie an der Zeltseite
anliegen und auf Niveau mit der Zeltkante liegen.

obs: Följande arbetsgång är den mest lämpliga vid hårt väder. Ett bra alternativ
vid vackert väder är att börja med de två längsgående stängerna (nummer 2 och
3 i illustrationen) för att fortsätta med de två tvärgående stängerna (1 och 4).
1– 3Börja med tvärstången vid den lilla absiden (nummer 1 i illustrationen). För
in stången i dess kanal ungefär halvvägs. Fatta sedan tag om stången och dra på
kanalen tills dess att stången bottnar fullständigt i den slutna änden.
4– 6Placera nu stångens fria ände i stånghållaren och fäst krokarna i stången.
Dra åt bandet vid stånghållaren så att den ligger intill tältduken och med botten
i nivå med dukens nedre kant.
Pitching: inserting the poles
note: The steps below are the optimal way to pitch the tent in harsh weather. In
less demanding conditions, starting with the lengthwise poles (numbers 2 and 3 on
the illustration), then adding the crossing poles (numbers 1 and 4) is a good option.
1– 3Push a pole into the crossing pole sleeve that is closest to the smaller
vestibule (number 1 on the illustration) about half-way into the sleeve, then hold
onto the pole while pushing the pole sleeve material onto the pole. Make sure the
pole end is seated completely into the closed end of the pole sleeve.
4– 6Place the pole end into the plastic pole tensioning cup, and affix the plastic
clips onto the exposed part of the pole. Tighten the pole tensioner’s strap until
the pole cup is flat against the tent and flush with the bottom of the tent wall.

1& 2Montiere nun die zwei Stangen in Längsrichtung (2 + 3 auf der Skizze
auf Seite 10). Beginne mit Nummer 2, schiebe die Stange in den Kanal bis an
das geschlossene Ende und straffe den Stangenspanner. 2Montiere die zweite
Seitenstange so wie die erste. 3& 4Montiere nun die kürzere Stange in den
Stangenkanal der verlängerten Apsis (die Stange und der Kanal sind mit weißem
Tape markiert)
5Spanne nun die Heringsbefestigungen der Apsiden.
6Stangenhalter, Kanäle und Haken können mit doppelten Stangen verwendet
werden, Stabilität und Stärke bei extremen Bedingungen werden dadurch erhöht.
Uppsättning: montering av stänger, fortsättning
1De två längsgående stängerna som korsar varandra vid tältets högsta punkt
ska nu monteras (2 & 3 i illustrationen på s 10). Börja med nummer 2 genom att
föra in den ena i sin kanal. Se till att den bottnar i den slutna ändan och att du
drar åt bandspännet. 2Följ sedan samma arbetsgång med den andra tvärgående
stången. 3& 4Montera slutligen den kortare stången i kanalen vid den förlängda
absiden (den kortare stången samt kanalen är markerade med vit tape). Följ samma
tillvägagångssätt som ovan.
5Spänn nu absidernas markpinnefästen.
6Stånghållare och kanaler är gjorda så att du vid behov kan använda dubbla
stänger. Det ökar stabiliteten och styrkan på tältet under extrema vädersituationer.
Pitching: inserting the poles, continued
1Insert the two lengthwise poles (2 & 3 on the illustration on page 10) into their
sleeves, beginning with number 2 on the illustration – this pole rests on top of pole
number 3. Make sure to seat each pole end completely and to tension each pole
holder properly. 2Insert the remaining crossing pole (number 4 on the illustra-
tion), following the same procedure as in the first pole. 3& 4Insert the shorter
pole into the sleeve by the larger vestibule (both the short pole and its pole sleeve
are marked with white tape).
5Tighten the peg tensioners on the vestibule peg points.
6All pole sleeves and sleeves plus clips are built to accommodate double poles,
which increases stability and strength for the most extreme conditions.

Fäst tältlinorna
1Se till att samtliga staglinor är i sitt längsta läge och fäst dem sedan med
markpinnar (se sidan 7). För att undvika att linorna trasslar sig under uppsättning
i hård vind kan man fästa staglinorna innan man monterar stängerna. Spänn sedan
linorna, dock utan att deformera tältet.
2Placera tältlinorna som visas i illustrationen (Om vinden blåser hårt från ena sidan
kan linorna flyttas rakt mot vindriktningen.) 3& 4För ökad stabilitet ska du snurra
staglinorna runt tältstängerna vid de punkter där de korsar varandra. 5– 7Dra
åt ventilskyddets spännen och vira dess lina runt den punkt där stängerna korsar
varandra vilket håller nere skyddet vid hårt väder. 8För ökad stabilitet, fäst nu
samtliga markfästen med markpinnar och se till att de är helt nerslagna.
Using the guy lines
1Set all guy lines to their longest length before pegging them, and make sure the
pegs are pressed fully into the ground at the proper angle (see page 7). To keep guy
lines from tangling while pitching in high winds, peg them down before inserting
the poles. note: Guy lines should be taut, but not so tight they deform the tent.
2Orient the guy lines as shown in the illustration. In high winds, pull all windward
side guy lines straight out. 3& 4For added stability, wrap the guy line attach-
ment point near the crossing poles’ crossing point around the crossing point itself.
5–7Tighten the vent cover’s buckles, and wrap the guy lines from the vent cover
around the crossing point of the crossing poles. 8For maximum stability, peg down
the perimeter of the tent, making sure to press the pegs completely into the ground.
Anwendung der Abspannleinen
1Kontrolliere dass die Zeltleinen in der längsten Position eingestellt sind und
verankere sie mit Heringen (siehe Seite 7) Um zu verhindern, dass sich die Leinen
bei starkem Wind verwickeln, kann man sie vor dem Stangeneinsatz verankern.
achtung: Die Leinen sollen straffgespannt sein ohne das Zelt zu deformieren.
2Setze die Leinen wie auf der Skizze gezeigt. Bei starkem Wind: spanne alle Leinen
gerade auf der Windseite. 3& 4Für erhöhte Stabilität wickle die Leinen um die
Kreuzungspunkte der Stangen. 5–7Spanne die Bänder der Lüfterhaube und
wickle die Leinen um den Kreuzungspunkt der Stangen. 8Für maximale Stabilität,
verankere das Zelt rund herum mit Heringe, die ganz in den Boden gedrückt werden.

Anwendung der Außenzelteingänge
1– 4Der Eingang der verlängerten Apsis kann wahlweise geöffnet – von oben,
unten oder von der Seite - und seitlich weggerollt werden. 5– 8Er ist mit
einem abnehmbaren Moskitonetz versehen und kann in einem montierten Beutel
verstaut werden. 9– 11 Der Eingang der kleinen Apsis kann von oben oder unten
geöffnet und zur Seite gerollt werden. 12 Bei Bedarf kann der Reißverschluss mit
dem rotem Knebel “abgesichert” werden.
achtung: Vermeide es, auf die geöffnete Eingangsseite zu treten oder diese auf
dem Boden liegen zu lassen. Es besteht sonst die Gefahr, dass Erde, Sand oder
Schmutz in den Reißverschluss kommen und diesen dauerhaft schädigen. Führe
beim Öffnen und Schließen einen Finger vor dem Schieber entlang, um zu ver-
hindern, dass sich die Zeltplane im Reißverschluss verhakt.
Användning av yttertältsingångarna
1– 4Ingången kan öppnas från valfritt håll (uppifrån, nedifrån eller från sidan)
beroende på rådande förhållanden och rullas ihop och fästas åt sidan. 5– 8
Den har myggnätstäckning som kan lossas helt om så önskas och förvaras i den
monterade fickan vid sidan av ingången. 9– 11 Ingången vid den lilla absiden
kan öppnas uppifrån och nedifrån och rullas upp och fästas med resårbandsögla
och toggle. 12 I hårt väder kan dragkedjans kläpp låsas med den röda toggeln.
obs: Trampa aldrig på dörrfliken eller låt den ligga på marken eftersom risken då
är stor att det kommer jord, sand eller annat skräp i blixtlåsen, vilka då snart slutar
fungera. För att undvika att tyget fastnar i blixtlåsen är det bra att hålla ett finger
framför Blixtlåslöparen vid öppning och stängning.
Using the outer tent doors
1– 4The larger vestibule’s door can be opened from the top, bottom, or side,
and can be rolled aside and secured. 5– 8It is backed by a full no-see-um mesh
door that can be removed and stowed in a detachable pocket next to the entrance.
9– 11 The smaller vestibule’s door can be opened from the top or bottom, and
can be rolled and secured with the toggle and loop system. 12 For extra security
in heavy winds, the zipper can be “locked” down with the red toggle.
note: Make sure not to step on any of the doors, or to let them lay on the ground;
this will drag the zipper in the dirt, and grit in the zippers will reduce their life
span. It is also a good idea to keep your finger in the zipper as you open or close it.
This keeps the door fabric from catching, and will increase the life of your zippers.

komplett zur Seite gerollt werden.
1– 4Öffne den Reißverschluss bis auf die letzten 30 cm, rolle den Stoff
zusammen und befestige den aufgerollten Eingang mit Knebel und Gummiband am
Innenzelt. 5& 6Der Eingang kann von oben geöffnet werden, wenn Du etwas
in der Abside suchst oder die Durchlüftung erhöhen willst.
7& 8Zur maximalen Durchlüftung sowie zum Schutz vor Insekten wird die
Abdeckung des Moskitonetzes ganz geöffnet, heruntergerollt und mit elastischen
Bändern und Haken fixiert.
Användning av innertältsdörrarna
Innertältsingångarna kan öppnas från sidan eller uppifrån och hela dörrfliken kan
rullas åt sidan.
1– 4Öppna blixtlåsen till cirka 30 cm före slutet, rulla ihop tyget och fäst det
med toggle och resårband vid ingångssidan. 5& 6Ingången kan öppnas uppifrån
om du bara vill nå något i absiden eller för ökad ventilation.
7& 8För att samtidigt ha god ventilation och insektsskydd kan man behålla
myggnätsöppningen stängd och rulla ner innertältingången och fästa den med
de elastiska öglorna.

Using the inner tent doors
The inner tent entrances can be opened from either the side or the top, and the
door itself can be fully rolled to the side.
1– 4Unzip the door until the slider is about 30 cm (12 in) from its end, then
gather and roll the fabric bundle to the side. Secure it with the toggle and loop
fasteners. 5& 6The inner door can be opened from above if you want to reach
into the vestibule or if you want more ventilation.
7& 8For air flow and bug protection, unzip the fabric panel and roll it down,
then tie down the bundle of fabric by securing the elastic loops to their matching
fasteners.
