JGigabit LAN Switch
The MACH 3001 is a modular Gigabit
Switch with optional IP routing.
The MACH 3001 chassis includes:
– one power supply unit (230/120VAC)
– four fans
– one basic board with four media sockets
for connecting media modules or the
router module
– two connectors for redundant 24VDC
operating voltage, 10 A maximum
The MACH 3001 switches support ETHERNET
10 MBit/s, Fast ETHERNET 100 MBit/s and
Gigabit ETHERNET 1000 MBit/s. They support
switchted ETHERNET networks, and backbo-
nes in accordance with IEEE standard 802.3
using copper technology or fiber optic (F/O).

The integrated basic board has 4 sockets for
connecting the router module and media
modules. The MACH 3001 enables configu-
rations with up to 32 ports, depending on
the choice of media modules.

Certified usage
Please observe the following:

The device may only be employed
for the purposes described in the
catalog and technical description,
and only in conjunction with external
devices and components recommen-
ded or approved by Hirschmann.
The product can only be operated
correctly and safely if it is transpor-
ted, stored, installed and assembled
properly and correctly. Furthermore,
it must be operated and serviced
carefully.
Safety Guidelines
Power Supply
For reasons of safety, the fuse installed in
the integrated power supply unit PSU1
must not be changed.
The power supply unit PSU1 (regional vol-
tage input, 230/120VAC) is fixed in the chas-
sis.
Only switch on the device when the
housing is closed. Close all empty slots
with a covering panel.
The devices may only be connected to
the supply voltage shown on the type
plate.
Check the configuration of the 24VDC
connectors and of the cables before you
connect an external 24VDC voltage to
the 24VDC inputs PSU 2 and/or PSU3.
Relevant for North America:
The subject unit is to be suppplied by a
Class 2 power source complying with the
requirements of the National Electrical
Code, table 11(b). If power is redundant
supplied (two individual power sources) the
power sources together should comply with
the requirements of the National Electrical
Code, table 11 (b).
Relevant for North America:
Peripheral equipment must be suitable for
the location it is used in.
Use 60/75°C or 75°C copper(CU)wire only.
Safety Guidelines
Shielding Ground
Note: The shielding ground of the connec-
table twisted pairs lines is connected to the
front panel as a conductor.
Beware of possible short circuits when
connecting a cable section with conductive
shielding braiding.
Safety Guidelines Housing
For installing media modules you have to
open the MACH3001 chassis.
zWarning!
The chassis must not be opened
during operation.
If you use the internal 230/120VAC power
supply unit, the device is grounded via the
power supply cable which is included in the
scope of delivery.
If you use one or two external 24VDC power
supply units, the device has to be grounded
via the optional grounging thread on the
back of the chassis. It is located on the left
over the PSU2 connector.
Make sure that the electrical installation
meets local or nationally applicable safety
regulations.
zWarning!
The ventilation slits must not be
covered so as to ensure free air cir-
culation.
The distance to the ventilation slots
of the housing has to be a minimum
of 10 cm.
Never insert pointed objects (thin
screwdrivers, wires, etc.) into the
inside of the subrack! This especial-
ly applies to the area behind the
socket connectors. Failure to obser-
ve this point may result in injuries
caused by electric shocks.
Cover empty slots with blank
panels.
Note: The housing has to be mounted in
horizontal position.
Media modules and router modules
may only be installed or deinstalled by
an electrician.
The internal workings of the chassis are
not for users! Do not reach inside a
switched-on device because of the dan-
ger caused by high energy densities.
In case a device is switched off, fan bla-
des continue rotating for about 30
seconds. Do not reach into the rotating
fan!
Note: If installed in a living area or office
environment, the device must be operated
exclusively in switch cabinets with fire pro-
tection characteristics according to EN
60950..
Safety Guidelines Environment
zWarning!
The device may only be operated in
a maximum surrounding air tempe-
rature of 0°C to +50°C at a relative
air humidity of 20% to 90% (non-
condensing).
The installation location is to be selec-
ted so as to ensure compliance with the cli-
matic limits listed in the Technical Data.
To be used in an up to Pollution Degree
2 environment only (IEC 60664-1).

Staff qualification
requirements
Qualified personnel, as understood in this
manual and in the warning signs, are per-
sons who are familiar with the setup,
assembly, startup, and operation of this
product and are appropriately qualified for
their job. This includes, for example, those
persons who have been:
– trained or directed or authorized to
switch on and off, to ground and to label
power circuits and devices or systems in
accordance with current safety enginee-
ring standards
– trained or directed in the care and use of
appropriate safety equipment in accor-
dance with the current standards of safety
engineering
– trained in providing first aid.

This device is electrically operated.
Adhere strictly to the safety requirements
relating to voltages applied to the device as
described in the operating instructions!

Certified devices are marked with a certifi-
cation identifier.
ESD guidelines
The router modules and the media modules
contain components highly sensitive to
electrostatic fields. These components can
be easily destroyed or have their lives shor-
tened by an electrical field or by a discharge
caused by touching the card. For these rea-
sons, the extension modules are delivered
in a conducting ESD protective bag. This
packaging can be reused.
Be sure to observe the following precauti-
ons for electrostatic sensitive devices
when handling the components:
Establish electrical potential equality
between yourself and your surroun-
dings, e.g. with the aid of a wrist brace-
let that you attach to the chassis. If the
power supply cable is connected, the
chassis is grounded via the power
connection.
Only then remove the extension modu-
les from the conducting bag.
Store the modules in their conducting
bags whenever they are not in the chas-
sis.
ESD protective field kits are available for
working with electrostatic sensitive devices.
You can find more information about devi-
ces vulnerable to electrostatic fields in
DIN/IEC 47 (Sec) 1330; February 1994 Editi-
on and DIN EN 100 015.

1. Functional description
The MACH 3001 is a modular Gigabit
Switch with the functions spanning tree
algorithmus, frame switching, IP routing,
displays, redundancy, management and
security.
The integrated basic board is for connecting
the network segments.
It has
– the complete logic for controlling the data
traffic
– its own management agent
– as well as 4 sockets for connecting media
modules. Media modules form the direct
interface for connecting to network seg-
ments.
The basic board has a management agent
with an IP address and a MAC address.
Three LEDs show the operating status of
the integrated basic board.
1.1 HARDWARE FUNCTIONS
Diagnosis
When restarting, the MACH 3001 performs
a hardware self-test. During operation, an
integrated watchdog (monitoring unit)
monitors the function of the software.
Autonegotiation
Autonegotiation is a procedure in which the
switch automatically selects the operating
mode of its 10/100 RJ-45 ports. When a link
is set up for the first time, the switch detects
the speed (10 or 100 Mbit/s) and the trans-
mission mode of the linked network (half
duplex or full duplex). The automatic set-
ting of the ports eliminates the need for
manual intervention on the part of the user.
The autonegotiation function is
activated/deactivated by the management.
Autopolarity exchange
If the receive-line pair of a twisted-pair
cable is incorrectly connected (RD+ and RD-
are reversed), polarity is reversed automati-
cally.
1.2 SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE
TP/TX INTERFACE
Line monitoring (link control)
Using regular link-test pulses in accordance
with the IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX
standard, the MACH 3001 monitors the
connected TP line segments for short cir-
cuiting or interruptions. The MACH 3001
does not send any data to a TP segment
from which it does not receive a link-test
pulse.
Note: An unassigned interface is interpre-
ted as a line interruption. The TP line to a
deactivated terminal device is also interpre-
ted as a line interruption, since the current-
free connected device is unable to send
link-test pulses.
1.3 SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE
FIBER OPTIC INTERFACE
F/O monitoring
A MACH 3001 monitors the connected fiber
optic lines for breaks in accordance with the
IEEE 802.3 10BASE-FL and 100BASE-FX
standard.
Note (concerning 1.2 and 1.3): If a line
interruption occurs the management agent
sends a trap to the management station.
The sending of such a trap can be stopped
by the management.
1.4 FURTHER FUNCTIONS AND
FEATURES
Reset
The MACH 3001 is reset by the following
events:
– management
– insufficient level of all three input voltages
– watch dog
– Reset button (basic board)
The following actions are carried out after a
reset:
– self-test
– initialization
1.5 SECURITY
SNMP
In the delivery state, the switch is accessible
via the community ”public” (read only) and
”private” (read and write) to every compu-
ter.
To protect your switch from unwanted
access:
First define a new community which
you can access from your computer
with all rights.
Note: Make a note of the community name
and the associated index. For reasons of
security, the community name cannot be
read later. Access to the community access,
trap destination and trap configuration table
is made via the community index.
Treat this community with discretion
since everyone who knows the commu-
nity can access the switch MIB with the
IP address of your computer.
Limit the access rights of the known
communities or delete their entries.
Overwrite the variable (instant) hmAuth-
HostTable.1.0.0.0.0.0 with new values.
SNMP traps
If unusual events occur, they are reported
immediately to the management station via
traps. Traps are alarm messages which
bypass the polling procedure (to poll means
to query the data stations at regular inter-
vals).
Traps make it possible to react quickly to
critical situations, e.g.:
– a hardware reset
– changing the basic device configuration
– segmentation of a port
Traps can be sent to various hosts to increa-
se the transmission reliability for the mes-
sages. The management agent sends traps
to those hosts that are entered in the target
table (trap destination table). The trap desti-
nation table can be configured with the
management station via SNMP.
User groups
The user group function is a special applica-
tion of the VLAN function with emphasis on
security. While VLANs generally work port-
based, the user groups are based on port-
related MAC addresses.
The configuration is carried out via the net-
work management software HiVision.

1.5 DISPLAYS
On the front of the MACH3001, from left to
right, are the "PSU1", "PSU2", "PSU3"
(power supply state) and "FAN1", "FAN2",
"FAN3", "FAN4”(fan rotation speed monito-
ring) LEDs, as well as the LEDs of the inte-
grated basic board (fig. 2). The fans are
numbered in order from the back to the
front. FAN1 is at the rear left of the device,
FAN4 at the front left (fig. 1).

Depending on the media modules connec-
ted, the MACH 3001 provides you with the
following interfaces:
10/100 Mbit/s twisted pair connection
10/100 Mbit/s ports (8-pin R45 socket) on
the MACH 3001 enable the connection of
terminal devices or independent network
segments in compliance with the IEEE 802.3
100BASE-TX / 10BASE-T standards. These
ports support:

1000BASE-SX and 1000BASE-LX standard.
These ports support:

1000 Mbit/s twisted pair connection
1000 MBit/s twisted pair ports (8-pole RJ45
sockets) enable the connection of terminal
devices or independent network segments
in compliance with the IEEE 802-3, 2000 Edi-
tion 1000BASE-T standard. These ports sup-

V.24 interface
(external management)
A serial interface is provided on the RJ11
socket (V.24 interface) for the local connec-
tion
–of an external management station (VT100
terminal or PC with appropriate terminal
emulation). This makes it possible to esta-
blish a connection to the UI user interface.
–of an ACA 11 Auto Configuration Adapter
(from Rel. 3.10 on).

Start your browser and enter the desired IP
address. The agent’s IP address is determi-
ned by the base IP address + slot no. + 9
(default base IP address: 192.168.10.1).
Should you not be able to intially establish
a connection, repeat the procedure.
The socket housing is electrically connected
to the front panel of the device.

– ACA Auto Configuration Adapter:

The ACA is a device for storing the confi-
guration data of a switch of the MICE, RS2
or MACH 3000 type. In the case of a
switch failure, the configuration data can
be transferred easily by means of a substi-
tute switch of the same type.
– Save actual configuration data to
the ACA:
With "Save local configuration" you have
the option to transmit the actual switch
configuration to the ACA and to the flash
memory. The LEDs RUN and Master are
flashing simultaneously and slowly during
the writing process.
– Load configuration data from the
ACA:
On a restart the switch assumes the confi-
guration data of the ACA and saves it non
volatile in the flash memory. The LEDs
RUN and Master are flashing simulta-
neously and fast during the reading pro-
cess.
2. Redundancy functions
2.1 REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY
With the MACH 3001, you can realize
double redundancy (with 2 external
24VDC/165W power supply units) or single
redundancy (1 internal and 1 external
power supply unit or 2 external power sup-
ply units). You can achieve enhanced redun-
dancy by means of a separate voltage supp-
ly input from different sources.
3. Installation and startup
The MACH 3001 has been developed for the
backbones of company-wide networks.
Because of its modularity and the support
provided via network management soft-
ware HiVision, installation is extremely sim-
ple. A few configuration settings are requi-
red for operation.
Before installation and startup please
observe the chaptures „Safety instructions“
and „ESD guidelines“.
3.1 UNPACKING, CHECKING
Check whether the package was deliver-
ed complete (see scope of delivery).
Check the individual parts for transport
damage.

3.2 DEVICE INSTALLATION
Power supply unit
The PSU1 power supply unit (regional vol-
tage input 230/120VAC) is permanently built
in and cannot be replaced by the user.
Setting the selected power supply
unit-configuration on the DIP switch
The MACH 3001 supports a redundant vol-
tage supply. The device contains an integra-
ted 230/120 VAC power supply unit and two
additional 24VDC connections.
–PSU1: a permanently built-in power supp-
ly unit, regional voltage input (fully equip-
ped, max. approx. 200W/0.91A/230VAC )
–PSU2, PSU3: two redundant 24VDC inputs
(industrial voltage range 19V-32V; ”Immu-
nity Limits for Power Ports”in line with
PLC norm, IEC/EN 61131-2; with reverse
polarity protection; fully equipped max.
165W/9A for 19V, 165W/7A for 24VDC).
PSU2 and PSU3 are located at the back of
the device (from left to right, fig. 1).
On the front of the MACH 3001, from left to
right, you will find the ”PSU1 active”,
”PSU2 active”and ”PSU3 active”DIP swit-
ches (fig. 6).
In order for the management to identify
your power supply unit configuration, you
specify via these DIP switches how you are
operating the device. Thus the management
can access to the correspondant MIB varia-
ble and you can monitor the function of the
power supply units via the management.
Specify via the DIP switches on the front
of the MACH 3001 which PSUs you are
using:
ON = power supply unit present and
switched on
OFF = power supply unit not present

Fans (FAN1 bis FAN4)
The fans FAN1 to FAN4 are permanently
built in and cannot be replaced by the user
(fig. 1).
Basic board
The basic board is permanently built in and
cannot be replaced by the user.
Opening the device
To open the MACH 3001, you proceed as
follows:
Make sure the device is voltage-free,
with respect to the 230/120VAC connec-
tion and both the 24VDC connections.
zWarning!
The printed circuit boards in the
MACH 3001 are torsion-sensitive.
You must therefore avoid bending
them to any degree. Place the
device on a flat surface before
opening it.
Remove the three screws on the back of
the chassis.

Make sure that you do not bend the
cover of the device too much,
because the fixing loops could beco-
me buckled otherwise.
Finally remove the cover by pulling it

Assembling/disassembling the media
modules or the router module
The integrated basic board has four sockets
for connecting one media module each. The
number of connectable network segments
depends on the number and type of the
basic boards installed.
Note: The media modules or router modu-
le must be current-free during replacement
(no hot swapping). The chassis of the
MACH 3001 must be opened for this purpo-
se.
Caution! In case a device is switched off,
fan blades continue rotating for about 30
seconds. Do not reach into the rotating fan!
Assembly
zPlease observe the ESD and safety
instructions on page 2 and 3.
Open the MACH 3001 in line with the
description in ”Opening the device”.
Select a socket not being used. You can
choose any free socket you like. Remo-
ve covering panel of module socket.
Keep the covering panel and screws so
that the opening can be covered if a
module is removed later.
Remove countersunk screws in the front
panel holders of the module. The coun-
tersunk screws will be required again
immediately.
zThe basic board and modules are easily
bent. Choose an even surface for the
installation process.
Remove the screws from both spacers.
You will need the screws immediately
afterwards to fasten the module.

Ensure that the screw in the middle of
the free module slot (see ➁Fig. 12) is
screwed all the way down before you
insert the module. This screw is for
levering the media module when
disassembling the media module.
Insert the module (see Fig. 9).
Press the module downwards onto the
connector strips. In doing so press on
the point marked with an arrow (see
Fig. 10). Avoid any pressure on the
components. Avoid bending the circuit
board.
Fasten the module with the screws on
both spacers (see ➀Fig. 12).
Fasten the front panel of the module
(see Fig. 11).
Close the MACH 3001 device by repla-
cing the cover and tightening the 3
screws on the back of the device.
Disassembly
zPlease observe the ESD and safety
instructions on page 2 and 3.
Open the MACH 3001 in line with the
description in ”Opening the device”.
Remove the front panel of the module.
Remove both screws from the spacers
(see ➀Fig. 13).
There is a screw beneath the opening
module (see ➁Fig. 13) circuit board.
Loosening this screw levers the module
out of the socket without exerting any
bending pressure on the circuit board.
Remove the module and retighten the
screw.
Install another module or close the ope-
ning with the covering panel which you
kept after the initial installtion of the
module.
Close the MACH 3001 device by repla-
cing the cover and tightening the 3
screws on the back of the device.

Setup
Using the basic device as a desktop device:
Attach the rubber foot delivered with
the device to its underside.
–First remove the protective film from
the rubber foot.

–Stick one rubber foot approximately
2 cm from each corner.
Note: The adhesive surface should be free
of dust and grease.
Installation
The devices are intended to be built into a
19”rack.
Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
If necessary, provide a fan for the 19”
rack. This will prevent the basic device
from overheating.
Measure the depth of the 19”rack so as
to allow the power supply cable and
possibly the 24VDC cables from the
back and data cables to be connected
from the front.
Note: For rack mounting use chassis
runners.
Ground
When the device is being operated by
means of the integrated PSU1 230/120VAC
power supply unit, it is grounded via the
safety plug.
In the case of operation with external
24VDC voltage via the PSU2/PSU3 24VDC
connections, the device can be grounded
via the optional grounding screw. This is
located over the PSU2 connector on the
back of the device.
Connecting the LAN cable
Connect the cable for connecting the
LAN to the appropriate media modules.
Connecting the voltage supply (PSU1)
The devices may only be connected to
the supply voltage specified on their
type plate. Connect the power supply
cable to the power supply.
Connecting the external
24VDC power supply units
Only the voltage specified on the type plate
may be connected to the 24VDC connections
(PSU2, PSU3) on the back of the device.
The two 24VDC connection sockets included
in delivery (sockets for the PSU2 and PSU3
plugs) must be connected to the cables of
the external 24VDC voltage supply:
- Stripping the 24VDC connection

- Connecting
After preparing the connection cable
and the connection plug, connect the
external 24VDC voltage supply to the
required DC voltage connection PSU2 or
PSU3 on the back of the chassis of the
MACH 3001.
Make allowances for strain relief.
– Setting the DIP switch
Specify via the DIP switch which PSUs
you are using, as described in section
3.2.
3.3 STARTUP
You start operation of the MACH 3001 by
switching on the voltage supply and/or the
external 24VDC power supply units.

4. Hardware
4.1 MACH 3001 CHASSIS
Table 1 gives you an overview about the
number of media modules, power supply
units and fan units in the MACH 3001 chas-
sis.
Equipped with 2 or 3 power supply units
(1 internal power supply unit and 1 or 2
external 24VDC power supply units) the
MACH 3001 works

as regards the power supply.
By means of an integrated basic board, the
MACH 3001 allows you to configure a
switch with up to 32 ports, depending on

4.2 INTERNAL/EXTERNAL POWER
SUPPLY UNITS
The separate supply of the voltage from dif-
ferent sources also provides a redundancy.
All power supplies can be connected simul-
taneously.
Three LEDs lighting up green show the cor-
rect status of the output voltages of the
PSU1 internal power supply unit and the
PSU2 and PSU3 external power supply
units.
You set the power supply unit configuration
you have realized on the DIP switch on the
front on the MACH 3001 (fig. 6).
4.3 INTEGRATED FANS
Four fans blow the warmed air on the left-
hand side of the MACH 3001 chassis to the
outside. The resulting negative pressure
causes a continuous flow of cooler external
air into the chassis.
A green flashing LED per fan (FAN1 to
FAN4) shows that the fan is in correct wor-
king order.

4.4 INTEGRATED BASIC BOARD
The integrated basic board is for connecting
the network segments.
The basic board has
–the complete logic for controlling the data
traffic
–its own management agent
–as well as 4 sockets for connecting media
modules. Modules form the direct interfa-
ce for connecting to network segments.
4.5 MEDIA MODULES
The media modules form the direct inter-
face to the network segments.
4-port ETHERNET Multimode
The 4-port ETHERNET multimode media
module M-ETH 4MM-ST has 4 BFOC socket
pairs for connecting up to 4 multimode F/O
network segments in accordance with IEEE
802-3, 1998 Edition 10BASE-FL.
A green/yellow LED per port indicates the
link status as well as the data traffic.

5 Management
5.1 INTRODUCTION
The MACH 3001 supports SNMP and Web-
based management and thus offers a exten-
sive diagnosis and configuration functions.
5.2 WEB-BASED MANAGEMENT
In order to open the Web-based manage-
ment interface you need a Web browser
(program which enables to read hypertext),
for example the Netscape Navigator/Com-
municator or the Microsoft Internet Explorer
from version 4.x on.
Start your Web browser.
Make sure that Javascript and Java in
your browser is switched on.
To establish the connection enter the IP
address of the MACH 3001 you want to
manage with the Web-based manage-
ment in the address field of the Web
browser in the following way:
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Note: The Web-based interface uses the
plugin "Java™Runtime Environment Versi-
on 1.3". If this is not installed on your com-
puter, an installation via the internet is star-
ted automatically on the first start of the
Web-based interface. This installation takes
a lot of time.
For Windows NT users: Because of that
stop the installation. Install the plugin from
the enclosed CDROM. For that start the pro-
gram file j2re1_3_1_xx-win-i.exe in the Java
table on the CDROM.
Login window
Choose the desired language.
In the password field the password
"public", which gives you reading
access, is pre-setted. If you want to
access the MACH 3001 with writing
access, mark the contents of the pas-
sword field and overwrite it with the
password "private" (state of delivery).
Changing the password protects the
MACH 3001 against illegal access.
Click on OK.
5.3 USER INTERFACE
The User Interface offers users the option of
choosing certain functions of the manage-
ment agent in a menu-driven way.
After connecting the management agent
with a VT100 terminal via V.24 or telnet,
press a key. A window will appear on
the screen for entering the password. A
maximum of up to 5 users can access
the User Interface simultaneously (one
user via V.24, the others via telnet).
Enter the password. The default value
for the password is „private“.You can
change the password later in the User
Interface or via the WWW interface.
Please note that passwords are case-
sensitive. The main menu screen
appears.
Working with the User Interface
–Use the arrow keys or the tab key to move
the cursor. Pay attention to the terminal
settings.
–To change the specified values in a selec-
tion field, press the space bar.
–The new settings are accepted if the cur-
sor is in the APPLY field, and the enter key
is pressed.
–The bottom line contains a help text for
the selected item.
–To exit the User Interface, select LOGOUT
in the main menu and press the enter key.
The User Interface enables the following
functions:
– System Parameter
This menu is for entering the IP address,
Subnet mask and Gateway IP address,
VLAN ID, for displaying the MAC address of
the MACH 3001 and for executing Plug &
Play.
– System Time
This menu is for entering the system time.
– Switching General
This menu is for switching on/off the Span-
ning Tree, GVRP and GMRP.
– Switch Security
This menu is for switching on/off the telnet
and the Web access. State of delivery: Tel-
net and Web switched on.
– Port Configuration/Statistics
This menu is for port configuration and dis-
playing the port statistic tables.
– PPP Configuration
This menu is for access the Web-based
Management via the V.24 interface.
– HIPER-Ring
This menu is for HIPER-Ring (ring redun-
dancy) configuration.
– Configuration
The MACH 3001 has the default setting and
the user-defined setting.
This submenu offers the option of storing a
user-defined configuration. This configurati-
on can be reloaded
–automatically when restarting or
–after restarting with the default settings
reloaded again
Any changes in this window are accepted
by choosing APPLY.
– Update
Before you can update the software, you
need to know the correct location (pathna-
me) of the update file.
Enter the correct pathname in the field
URL of update file and then press the
enter key.
In the line Reset you can decide whether the
MACH 3001 should be restarted immediate-
ly after loading an update or at a later time.
Choose Apply to load the update. It is active
after a restart.
– Password
To protect your MACH 3001 from unauthori-
zed access, change the password in this
submenu.
Enter your new password in the field
New Password and press the enter key.
Repeat the entry of your new password
in the field Retype password and press
the enter key.
To accept the new password, choose
APPLY and then press the entry key.
To ensure that the new password is
available after a restart, save the con-
figuration.
– Ping
In the menu Ping you can test the accessibi-
lity of another network station.
Enter the IP address of the host, the IP
address of the desired station, and then
press the enter key.
Choose Apply to call up the answer of the
desired station.
Depending on the accessibility of the stati-
on, you will receive the answer: „Host
alive“or „Host not alive“.
– System Reset
This menu is for resetting the system. Via
the menu „Configuration“you define
whether the factory settings or the user
defined configuration is to be load after the
reset.
