Symbol Definition
ESD HAZARD: Danger of an electro-static discharge to which
equipment may be sensitive. Observe precautions for handling
electrostatic sensitive devices.
Protective Earth (PE) terminal: Provided for connection of the
protective earth (green or green/yellow) supply system conductor.
Functional earth terminal: Used for non-safety purposes such as
noise immunity improvement. NOTE: This connection shall be
bonded to Protective Earth at the source of supply in accordance
with national local electrical code requirements.
Earth Ground:Functional earth connection. NOTE: This
connection shall be bonded to Protective Earth at the source of
supply in accordance with national and local electrical code
requirements.
Chassis Ground: Identifies a connection to the chassis or frame of
the equipment shall be bonded to Protective Earth at the source of
supply in accordance with national and local electrical code
requirements.

1. Introduction
1.1 Overview
This user’s guide describes the specifications, handling, and programming of the 2MLL-
PSRA and 2MLL-PSEA Pnet I/F module.
1.2 Features
The characteristics of Pnet I/F module are as follows:
•Product design is based on International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC 61131)
−Easy support to programming device
−Standard language (IEC 61131-3) provided (IL/LD/SFC)
•Supports International standard communication protocol based on open network.
•Communicates with the remote master module.
•Sets maximum 99 stations.
•Enables to save the cost for installation and maintenance.
•System configuration is simple for maintenance and repair.
•Compatible with third party’s product.
•Easy to set the system by hardware station address setting.
•Supports various I/O like:
−DC input 8/16/32/64 points, TR output 16/32/64 points, Relay output 8/16
points
−Combined 32 point (DC input 16 point/ TR output 16 point)
−Various special modules such as AD (analog input)/DA (analog voltage)/DC
(analog current output)/RTD (Resistor temperature detector)/TC
(Thermocouple)
•Easy to configure the system.
•Provides the online network status detection function.
−Detects the remote module status through High-speed Link monitor.

−Verifies diverse modules instantly.
•High-speed communication.
•Flexible communication relation is available as the speed is set automatically
according to the speed of master.
•Hot-Swap function available.
−Module can be changed during the RUN mode. Operation of all I/O modules,
except the module under change, is normal.
−Before the module change, it communicates to BPMC about the module change
using switch manipulation.
−After the module change, restores the mode switch.
−You can check the invalid module installation and replacement through
operation of M_CHECK, M_CLO/SE at BPMC I/F program.

The characteristics of Pnet slave I/F module are as follows:
•Supports open network by adopting a communication protocol of international
standard.
•Communicates with remote master module.

•Sets maximum of 98 stations.
•Reduces installation and maintenance cost.
•Provides diverse system configuration and easy maintenance.
•Supports system change easily.
•Compatible with other company’s product. The Pnet slave I/F module can be easily
connected with other company’s master module.
•Provides easy system setting by setting up the station number with the hardware
rotary switch.
•Enables simple communication programming with SoftMaster software using high-
speed link parameter of SoftMaster-NM (SM-NM).
•Enables I/O configuration by setting high-speed link parameter with SoftMaster-
NM.
•Provides online network monitoring function. Uses the high-speed link internet to
check the communication state of the communication module.
•Supports high speed communication.
•Enables flexible communication relation by deciding communication speed
automatically based on the master speed.
•Allows the master to enable/disable “Data Swap” and “Diagnostic function”.
•Uses diagnostic function of the master station to obtain error information and
operating mode of the CPU module.
•Supports Global instructions. Synchronizes I/O data according to Sync, Unsync,
Freeze, Unfreeze instruction.
•Available to be used with diverse CPU modules. Available to be used with
ML200/ML200R CPU modules.

ATTENTION
The following provides the installation position of the Pnet I/F slave module
according to the CPU type.
•When using ML200 CPU, Pnet slave I/F module can be installed on both
main base and expansion base.
•When using ML200R CPU, Pnet slave I/F module can be installed on
expansion base.
The maximum installation numbers are same as the number of High-speed
link in use. When there are other communication modules using High-speed
link, the number of all communication modules using High-speed link have to
be less than 12.
