Get HTC Sync
Use HTC Sync to sync contacts, calendar, and other info
between your computer and your phone.
Go to our support website (www.htc.com/support) to
download the latest HTC Sync software for your phone
and install it on your computer.
Battery saving tips
Turning o wireless functions manually
You can turn o wireless functions such as Wi-Fi, mobile
network, and Bluetooth on-the-y when not in use.
1. Drag your nger from the top of the screen down to
open the Notications panel.
2. Tap Quick Settings .
3. Tap the o/on switches of the wireless functions you
want to turn o.
To turn Wi -Fi o, tap next to Wi-Fi connection , and
then tap the o/on switch.

Email
If you signed into your Google Account when you rst set
up your phone, you’ll be able to send and receive Gmail
messages. From the Home screen, just tap > Gmail .
Use the Mail app to set up and manage your other email
accounts such as POP3, IMAP, or Exchange ActiveSync.
1. From the Home screen, tap > Mail .
2. On the Choose a mail provider screen, tap Other
(POP3/IMAP) .
If you don’t see this screen, tap , and then tap New
account > Other (POP3/IMAP) .
3. Enter the email address and password for your email
account.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to nish setting up
your email account.
In the Mail app, you can check
your email messages just in one
place without having to switch to
dierent accounts. Just choose the
All accounts inbox. Email messages
are color coded so you can easily
distinguish which email accounts
they belong to.

Connect to the Internet
It’s simple. When you turn your phone on for the rst
time (with the SIM card inserted), it should connect
automatically to your mobile operator’s data service.
Note If presented with a list of mobile operators, make sure to
select the correct one for your SIM card. Contact your mobile
operator for more details.
If you want to connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi®:
1. From the Home screen, press , and then tap
Settings .
2. Tap the Wi-Fi o/on switch to turn it on.
3. Tap Wi-Fi . Then choose a Wi-Fi network to connect to.
If you select an open network, you’ll be automatically
connected. If you select a secured network, enter the
key, and then tap Connect .
Fast browsing
Enjoy fast web browsing or watch videos from your
favorite sites. From the Home screen, tap > Internet.

Watch movies on the go
With our HTC Watch ™ online
video service, get a glimpse
of the latest movie trailers and
enjoy watching Hollywood
blockbusters or TV shows. You
can choose to either rent or buy
videos, and start watching a
video as it’s being downloaded.
Ta p >Watch , sign up
for your account, and start
shopping.
Note The HTC Watch service may not
be available in some regions.
Listen to your fave tunes
Enjoy music wherever you are.
From the Home screen, tap
> Music .
For a richer music experience,
press while listening to
a song, and then tap Sound
enhancer . If you plugged in a
wired headset into your phone,
you can choose from preset
equalizer settings.

Use your phone’s 8 megapixel camera with dual ash to
take high resolution photos. The camera even captures
videos in full HD with stereo audio recording.
From the Home screen, tap >Camera or Camcorder .
To switch to the front camera, just tap Mode > Front and
take your own closeup shots.

Capture your big moments

Keep in contact
There are several ways you can add contacts to your
phone.
Adding a new contact
1. From the Home screen, tap > People .
2. Tap .
3. Enter the contact information in the relevant elds.
4. Tap Save .
Importing contacts from your SIM card
In the People app, press , and then tap Import/Export
> Import from SIM card .
Syncing contacts from your online accounts
You can sync your phone with contacts in your Google
Account, Facebook, and even Exchange ActiveSync
account. See the complete user guide to see how it’s done.

Before you do anything else,

Charge the battery
The battery in your phone hasn’t been charged yet. While your
phone is charging, it’s important that you do not remove the battery
pack. Doing so can damage your phone. Also, please don’t try to
take your phone apart. (If you do,it may invalidate your warranty.)
Choose a rate plan wisely
Yourphone can use up a lot of Internet bandwidth really quickly.
Before you use your phone,we strongly recommend that you talk to
your mobile operator about data rates.
Using data services while roaming will be costly. Check with
your mobile operator for data roamingrates before you use data
roaming.
Know about privacy laws
Some countries have strict lawsabout how and when you can
record phone conversations. It’s a good idea to nd out what the
laws are where youlive before you use your phone’s recording
feature.

Before you turn on your phone
Get everything in order before you press the POWER
button.
Removing the thin lm from the battery
1. Securely hold the phone facing up, and then press and
hold the RELEASE button at the bottom of the phone.
2. Slightly lift the bottom part of the front panel, and then
gently pull your phone out of its back cover.
3. Peel o the thin lm of the battery that’s inside your
phone. Pull the ap of the lm to release the battery.
Inserting your SIM card
Insert the SIM card (with its gold contacts facing down
and cut-o corner facing out) all the way into the SIM
card slot.

Where’s the storage card?
There’s already a microSD card in the storage card slot
which is right beside the SIM card slot. Push the microSD
card in to eject and remove it. To reinsert, push it in until it
clicks into place.
Inserting the battery
1. Insert the battery (with its exposed copper contacts
rst) into the battery compartment.
2. With the exposed side of the back cover facing up,
insert the top part of the phone into the back cover.
3. Press the phone down to lock the cover into place.
Charging the battery
Use the supplied power adapter and USB cable to charge
your phone.

Set up your phone
The rst time you switch on your phone, you’ll be guided
to transfer contacts using Bluetooth, set up your email and
social network accounts, and more.
Be sure to sign in to your Google Account so you can use
Google apps like Gmail™ on your phone.
Your Home screen
You have up to seven Home screen panels. Simply swipe
left or right to go to the other panels.
You can also pinch the Home screen to see all panels as
thumbnails in Leap view. Simply tap a thumbnail to go to
a panel.
Removing a Home screen panel
While in Leap view, press and
hold the Home screen panel
you want to remove, and then
drag it to the Remove button.
Adding a Home screen panel
If there is space to add a new
panel, tap the Add Panel button
while in Leap view.

Customize your phone just the way you want it. Just press
and hold on an empty space on your Home screen, and
then choose what you want to customize.
You can:
Change the wallpaper or skin.
Add widgets, apps, and shortcuts to your Home screen.
Change your ringtone, notification sounds, and alarm
sound.
Choose what appears on your lock screen, such as your
photos or live weather updates.
Personalize your phone

Personalizing the launch bar
You can replace the apps on the launch bar of your Home
screen with other apps that you often use.
1. Drag the app that you want to replace out of the
launch bar.
2. Tap to go to the All apps screen.
3. Press and hold an app that you want, and then drag it
to the empty slot on the launch bar.
Note The shortcuts you see on the lock screen are the same apps
as the ones on the launch bar.
Grouping apps into a folder
Use folders to group apps on the launch bar or your Home
screen to free up space so you can add more apps.
1. Drag an app over to another app to automatically
create a folder.
2. Drag more apps that you want to group in the folder.

Lock screen
When your phone becomes idle, it turns the display o
and goes to sleep mode to save battery power.
Press POWER to turn the display back on, and then pull
the ring upward to unlock the screen.
It’s also just as easy to open
an app, answer a call, or
dismiss an alarm from the
lock screen. Just drag the
corresponding icon towards
the ring.
Make your rst call
1. On the Home screen, tap .
2. Enter the number or contact you want to call, and then
tap Call .
3. To hang up, tap End call .
Send a txt msg
1. From the Home screen, tap > Messages .
2. On the All messages screen, tap .
3. Enter the recipient in the To eld.
4. Tap “Add text”, and then enter your message.
5. When done, tap Send .
