press MENU, tap View, and then select the

3Select the contact type, and then
tap OK. SIM contacts are transferred
to your phone.

Orange Homescreen
By default, your phone is set to the HTC Homescreen. To switch to the Orange Homescreen,
press HOME > MENU, and then tap Settings > Personalize > Home screen. Select Orange,
and then tap OK.

We have customised a number of short cuts on your Orange Homescreen so you
can access them quickly on your phone. On your HTC Tattoo, you can access
applications and services such as Orange World.

Making a call is as easy as tapping Dialler on the Homescreen,
dialing the number or name of the contact, and then tapping
the contact you want to call from the Smart Dial list.
If you’re calling from abroad, add the international “+” symbol
and the country/area code as sppropriate . Change the
volume during a call using the volume control buttons.

Text messages are a quick and easy way to keep in touch
when you’re on the move. Whether you need to send important
news, a time to meet, or make someone smile, texts are a great
way to communicate. Using predictive text (XT9) means the
phone will predict the word as you enter it, so you only need
to press the key once.

to write a text message
1On the Homescreen, tap Messages,
and then tap Compose message.
The Compose screen opens.
2Enter the mobile phone number of the
message recipient in the To field.
As you enter the phone number,
matching contacts will appear on the
screen. Tap a recipient or continue
entering the recipient’s phone number.
3Tap the text box with the “Tap to
compose” label, and then start
composing your message.
While entering your message, tap:
to shift between upper and lower
case
to insert a symbol
to insert a carriage return
to delete a character.
4When you have finished entering your
message, simply tap Send to send the
text message.

if you set up a personal greeting, people
are far more likely to leave you messages.
To do this, call Answer Phone and select
option 2 for Greetings, then follow the simple
instructions to record your own greeting.
To listen to your Answer Phone messages, tap Dialler on the Homescreen, and
then press and hold the 1 key. Listen to the simple steps to save, listen to or delete
messages.

Never miss out on what your mates are up to and keep
them updated when you’re out and about.
The first time you turn on your phone, you will be given
an option to set up your social networks. Your phone
integrates Facebook with your contacts, so you’ll know
when your friends updated their Facebook profile.
For Tweeter, use HTC Peep to send and receive tweets.

automatically saved in the storage card.

screen, and then tap Messages. A new
message will open.
2Compose the photo message by
specifying the receipients and adding
captions or text.
3When finished, tap Send to send the
photo or video.

the usual ‘ring ring’. Personalise each track for each caller, or have your favourite
song played to everyone phoning you.

on Orange World. Or by calling 477 from your
Orange phone to set it up.

There are many ways in which you can personalise your phone to make it truly

Your phone will automatically search for

troubleshooting
soft reset
A soft reset is similar to restarting
a computer. Simply turn your phone off
and take your battery and SIM Card out.
After 10 minutes, put it back together
and switch your phone on.
clean the contacts on the handset
and battery
This procedure will remove any slight
corrosion or debris and must be carried
out with care.
free up some memory
Cleaning the handset memory until at least
2MB is free may resolve the problem.
still not working
Simply call customer services on 150 from
an Orange mobile or 07973 100 150 from
a non-Orange phone. For small business
customer call 345. For business customers
call 158.
To help us diagnose the problem with your
phone as quickly as possible, we may need
your IMEI number. SImply type *#06# into
your phone and your unique IMEI number
will appear.
You could also try your SIM Card in another
phone to see if the problem stays with the
SIM Card or the phone.
Lastly, we may need you to access the
phones menu so it might be easier if you
call us from a different phone to the one
that you’re having problems with.
