Key Functions at Your Fingertips
Installing the SIM Card
Therearetwo stepstoinstall the SIM card:
1. Removethebatterycover.
2. InserttheSIMcard.
• Press and hold to power on your mobile phone.
• Press and hold to open the Phone options menu.
• Press to lock the screen when your mobile phone is active.
• Touchtoreturntothepreviousscreenorexittheapplicationyouare
running.
• Touchto hide the keyboard.
Touch to open the menu on an active screen.

Charging the Battery
Beforecharging the battery,ensure that it has beenproperly installed onyour phone.
1. ConnecttheUSBcablethatcamewithyourmobilephonetothecharger.
2. ConnecttheotherendoftheUSBcabletoyourmobilephone.Then,tostart
charging,plugthechargerintoanelectricaloutlet.
If you charge yourmobile phone whileit is powered on, the battery icononthe
notification bar indicates the charging status. When the battery icon changes to ,
your mobile phone is fully charged.
Status Indicator
The color of the status indicator tells you the status of your mobile phone’s battery.
Status Indicator
Green: Fully charged (when connected to charger).
Orange: Charging in progress (when connected to charger).
Red: Battery low.

Touchscreen Actions
Using your finger on the touchscreen, you can operate your phoneconveniently.
Home Screen
YoucansetuptheHomescreenaccordingtoyourownpreferences,forexampleby
addingashortcutorawidgettoyourHomescreen,changingthewallpaper,orsetting
the number of Home screen extensions.
To return to the Home screen from any of its extensions,press .
Whenanewnotificationiconappearsonthenotificationbar,placeyourfingeronthe
notification bar and flick down to open the notification panel.

Adding a New Home Screen Item

Adding a Contact

numberandaddress.

Making a Call with the Dialer Application
Onthe home screen,touch toopenthe Dialer .
YourmobilephonesupportstheSmartDialfunction,thatis,whenyoutouchnumbers
on the dialer, the phoneautomatically searches among your contacts and lists the
matchingresultsorderedaccordingtotheaccuracyofthematch.Ifnocontactsmatch
the information entered, the phone will not displayany result.
Creating and Sending a Multimedia
Message
Onthe home screen,touch toopenthe Messaging .
Youcanusemultimediamessagestomakeeverydaycommunicationsveryspecial.
You can recorda message and sendit as an audio file, sing 'Happy Birthday' and
send itto friend, or send a slideshow of photographs ofa special event. The
possibilities are endless.

Connecting Internet
Get online using your phone’sWi-Fi to saveyour money.
Turning On Wi-Fi
1. Touch > Settings .
2. Touch Wireless&networks ,andthenselectthe Wi-Fi checkboxtoturnonWi-
Fi.
Opening the Browser
Touch > Web to openthehome page.
WhenknownoropenWi-Finetworksandmobiledatanetworksareavailableat
the same time, your phone will preferably select a Wi-Fi network for Internet
access.
Opening a Webpage
1. Inabrowserwindow,touchtheURLfieldatthetopofthescreen.
2. Usethekeyboardtoenterawebpageaddress.Youcantouch toenterthe
webpageaddressbyvoice.
3. Asyouentertheaddress,matchingwebpageaddresseswillappearonthe
screen.Ifyouseetheaddressyouwant,touchitandgodirectlytothatwebpage
orcompleteenteringyourdesiredwebpage.
Turning Off Your Data Service
Whenyouarenotusingyourdataservice,toeliminateunwanteddatatraffic,youcan
turn it off quickly.

2. Touch atthetopofthescreentoswitchdataservicesonoroff.
Play Store
Android Market provides direct accessto applications and games which you can
download and install on your phone.

OpeningPlay Store
1. OntheHomescreen,touch > Play Store .
2. Whenyouopen PlayStore forthefirsttime,the GooglePlayTermsofService
windowwillappear.Touch Accept tocontinue.
Installing an Application
1. Inthe PlayStore ,selectacategory,andthentouchtheapplicationyouwantto
download.
2. Toinstalltheapplication,touch Install (ifitisfree)ortouchthebuttonwithaprice
(ifitisnotfree),andconfirmyourdownloadorpurchase.
After the application hasbeen downloaded and installed on your mobile phone, the
content download icon appears in the notification bar.
If you want to install a non-Market application, touch > Settings >
Applications , and then select the Unknown sources check boxto allow
installation ofthe non-Market application.
Uninstalling an Application
You cannot uninstall the applications that are pre-installed on the system.
1. Onthe Settings screen,touch Applications > Manageapplications .
2. Touchanapplication,andthentouch Uninstall .
Opening Your Camera
You cantake andsharephotos using the camera. Yourcamerasupports multiple
capturemodesandphotoeffects.Aftertakingapicture,accessthe Gallery to view it.

Using the microSD Card as a USB Mass
Storage
1. ConnectyourmobilephonetoyourPCwiththeUSBcableprovided.YourPC
willdetectthemicroSDcardasaremovablestoragedevice.
2. Openthenotificationbar,andthentouch USBconnected .
3. Touch TurnonUSBstorage inthedialogboxthatopenstoconfirmthatyou
wanttotransferfiles.
You can now transfer files from your PC to your mobile phone’s microSD card.
Playing Music
You can listen to music that youhave stored on your microSD card using the music
player.ThemusicplayerwillautomaticallysearchforanymusiconthemicroSDcard
sort it into albums and playlists.

Synchronizing Information
Some applications on yourmobile phone give youaccess to the same personal
informationthatyoucanadd,view,andeditonyourcomputer.If youadd,change,or
delete your information in anyof these applications on theweb, the updated

Thisismadepossiblethroughover-the-airdatasynchronization.Theprocessoccurs
in the backgroundanddoesnot interferewithuseofyourmobilephone.Whenyour
phone issynchronizing, a data synchronization icon will be shown inthe notification
bar.

How Can I Use a microSD Card to Import Contacts to My Phone from a
Different Mobile Phone?
Your mobile phone only supports contactfiles in the .vcf format.
1. Savethe contactsyou wantto importto yourmobilephonetoamicroSD
card asa .vcf file.
2. Insert the microSDcard into your mobile phone and find the .vcf file
using FileManager .
3. Touch the .vcf file. The phonedisplays a message asking whether you
want to import the contacts.
4. Touch OK to import the contacts.
Compatibility problems may occur with .vcf files created by different mobile
phonesand certain contact informationmay be lostafter contacts are imported.
You can also use Bluetooth to share and importcontacts.
How DoI Prevent AutomaticChange of Screen Orientation WhenRotating My
Phone?
On the Homescreen, touch > Settings > Display > Auto-rotate screen to
disablethefunction.

Emergency Call
You can use your devicefor emergency calls in the servicearea. The connection,
however, cannot be guaranteed in allconditions. You should not rely solelyonthe
device for essential communications.
Certification Information (SAR)
Thisdevicemeetsguidelinesforexposureto radio waves.
Your device is alow-power radiotransmitter and receiver. As recommended by

The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the unit of measurement for the amount of
radio frequency energy absorbed by the body when using a device. The SAR value
is determined at the highest certifiedpowerlevel inlaboratory conditions, butthe
actualSARlevelofthedevicewhenbeingoperatedcanbewellbelowthevalue.This
is because the device is designed touse the minimum power required to reach the
network.
